Yeah. 4A (Metro Exodus) had a deal with Nvidia since they were a small team of devs. Nvidia came in and GAVE them their technology (RTX, PhysX, Hairworks) under the agreement that they let their own Nvidia devs implement that into their game. So that's why it's one of those games that are just BUILT for Nvidia. And now look at Cyberpunk and The Witcher 3 upgrade... even before. Pure Nvidia showcasing before and even more with the enhanced Witcher 3. Nvidia has made half of the PC world (or more) think "RTX" means ray tracing. It's Nvidia's ray tracing. There is DXR (Microsoft's DirectX ray tracing) and UE5's Lumen. The last two do pretty good on AMD, but RTX? No... AMD is behind a "Hardware wall" when it comes to performance in "RTX" ray traced games. This is why I support AMD now and why I have supported them since around 2005.. when they got caught using driver cheats to score higher by lowering image quality in not only all games, but even more so in popular benchmarks (3DMark03, etc.). And then they bought PhysX. And they sold truckloads of their GPUs to Chinese miners during the drought. Meanwhlie... AMD has EVERYTHING they make Open Source. AMD and Intel should work together on an upscaler because Xess is great and FSR 3.1 is supposed to be good and all cards can use them. But DLSS? Nope.. only Nvidia. "Nvidia's" frame gen? Nope, only Nvidia... while AMD says "Frame Gen for ALL!" in the games that have it.
There's a mod that works for all cards, simply by fooling OS and game into thinking that you are using NVidia card: "FSR3 Frame Gen for Cyberpunk 2077 (DLSS Enabler 2077 Edition)" and complementary "FrameGen Ghosting 'Fix' for FSR 3.0-3.1 FG Mods". Also there's OptiScaler which I think works similarly to ReShade.

Thank you for the Infos! Didn't had much time for gaming this summer and some days ago i was thinking of starting a new cp2077 run, but now i will just wait a bit more! 👍
I just want to add, for in case anyone was hoping for a proper FG implementation on 1080p GPUs like the 1080 TI/2080 TI, Lossless Scaling (available through Steam) actually works better than FSR3 FG in Cyberpunk. I ran some tests for hours today, comparing both and found that LLS is not only smoother but also fixes certain AA characteristics we see in game at native res, like TAA effects on trees, foliage, hair, power lines, etc. It's pretty remarkable. I'd look into this option. It's a very cheap and easy to use utility that works externally (you run it first and then run the game you want to play over it and make changes on the fly without restarting). Lossless Scaling also has various scalers if you wish to use them, including AMD FSR with various settings you can test for improving performance, less input lag, etc. It looks especially nice at native resolution with just frame generation turned on. But like any frame generator, expect to see a few anomalies here and there, with certain reflections, grills on grounds, etc. Minor stuff. The input lag is also actually pretty negligible once you get used to it, so long as you're pulling at least 55-60 fps on average. Just a trade off for what will look like much higher fps than 60. Tested at ultra settings, high crowd density with all post effects like chromatic aberration, lens flair, film grain and high motion blur turned on (w/ X-Box One controller pad).👍
I am waiting for FSR 3.1 to come to Alan Wake 2 before I buy their DLC. When Nvidia is missing features in a game it’s an uprising, when there is AMD features missing, usually not many TH-camrs care. Call the game developers out, all the features from the three gpu makers should be there

You could try a DLDSR resolution 1.75x , no shimmer, then drop your image scaling a level or two. I think it always deserves some experimentation with each game. I've been opting to not use it with cyberpunk for the most part but with other games like Lies of P it is an incredible improvement and then with AMD cards you could try RSR to reduce shimmering

I've been using the fsr3 mod and just fyi it still works in the new update and visually looks way better than the official implementation. Stick with the fsr3 mod if you want better visuals with a boost in fps.
Couple of thoughts about this. 1. This is a very heavily sponsored Nvidia game title to showcase Nvidia graphical features. So if there is any expectation of them doing something that will heavily promote any competitors' product/ feature is unlikely. 2. I mean this game has been out of more than 2 years now. I am thinking it is kind of meaningless to release features in a game where I don't believe a lot of people really play now. Most people or hardware site run this game only to test new graphical features, more than play the game.
For all the AMD users who want to use Framegen without crosshair ghosting, I recommend AFMF 2. For me, the most annoying is the crosshair ghosting, which occurs with any FG mod, including the official FSR 3 implementation. Hence, I'm using AFMF 2 FG as there is no crosshair ghosting, and it only adds about 8-10ms of latency, which makes it still very smooth. I hope this helps some frustrated AMD users get a worthy and smooth Cyberpunk experience.
CDPR lost my respect when they went full ESG/DEI. Not surprised they also sold out to Nvidia. But hey, at least they broke everyone's mods with this pointless update!
FSR 2.1 actually isn't dumb. Every "upgrade" to FSR since then has always had drawbacks, unlike DLSS upgrades. 2.2 is arguably worse looking than 2.1, the pros of 2.1 just matter more for image quality.
@@polar6826 barely better than RT at medium but with insane ghosting on fast moving objects in high contrast scenarios. 'Better', just as upscaling is 'better' than native. It's not even Path Tracing really but I digress.

Personally, I never forgave them from the beginning of the launch. Their marketing team worked some voodoo magic over the past 2 years to get everyone to like this game. "Oh all the bugs are fixed. The game is a masterpiece now!" Are you kidding me?! Red Dead Redemption 2 is a buggy mess, but I would take that game 100x over Cyberpunk! The world in cyberpunk is completely dead and boring. It's a pretty painting - that's it! RDR2 is always surprising you in their world with random, unique events.
"Pretty painting" -- now that's an overstretch. RDR2 looks better than Cyberpunk 2077 with path tracing. E.g., with path tracing enabled, room where you spoke with Hanako's "doll" had unrealistic lighting that should've covered entire room, but it was visible only/mostly at areas with direct light on them.
Oof, painful to see how little they care tbh. This is one of the reasons why AMD will focus on midrange cards for the future so devs might actually bother.

Look cyberpunk, wukong, star wars. It's all marketing, they'll make you wait so you're tempted to buy an Nvidia card, they'll keep doing it regardless
But People want to see Radeon compete just so they can buy Nvidia cards.
If AMD continues its pricing strategy of pricing their cards just slightly below nvidia, then majority of the consumers would honestly just likely spend just a bit more to get an nvidia card. If they won't be aggressive on their pricing next gen, then even if they won't focus on the halo segment of the market, they'd still barely get any market share, much less mind share.
I don't think you understand how easy it is to implement FSR 3.1 versus just FSR3. It would take a competent modder less than a day.
@@mangatom192 sorry to tell you but AMD was super aggressive in the past regarding the pricing. It didn't change anything, people want AMD to push prices down to buy NV cheaper.
AMBIENT OCCLUSION still has artificting bug as well. If you observe lots of black artifacts and shimmering, turn off ambient occlusion and retest. NATIVE AA and Frame gen with ray tracing off looks great! , I did some testing and commentary on my channel today. Random stuff. I will try to do better tomorrow. Set screen space reflections from ultra to high or medium for 20+ more fps. EDIT, I JUST DID LIVE STREAM. Titled fixed AMD FSR3 Bug
TURN FILM GRAIN ON TO FIX FSR 3 FRAME GENERATION DISTORTION!!!! set fps to 20, turn on frame gen, check game and move around, there is a very bad circle in center of screen, Then turn on film grain. Others thought it was vignette, so did it, but it's film grain turned off. Turn in on, notice circle is GONE, then set frame rate to your standard and play. It should be PERFECT. Gonna go play, hope this helps. Devs please reply if you see this! Please investigate!

CDPR doesn't care, they have their bri...I mean marketing fund from NVIDIA.
DLSS + RayReconstruction + FSR3 MOD with RTX 3090 Ti - thanks AMD
agree. that mod is just plain awesome. Works much better than this piece of crap implementation

Fair to say they didn't implement FSR 3.1 because that would mean decoupling frame generation from the upscaling, and Nvidia wouldn't have that, in effect screwing with owners of their older Nvidia cards.
Yea its so Bad. FSR 3.1 Would be so much better. I mean if you make the implementation then do it right, if not why even make the effort?
I am waiting for FSR 3.1 to come to Alan Wake 2 before I buy their DLC.
When Nvidia is missing features in a game it’s an uprising, when there is AMD features missing, usually not many TH-camrs care. Call the game developers out, all the features from the three gpu makers should be there

Native AA has been a thing since FSR3 launched ONE YEAR AGO, no need to talk about it in this video
You could try a DLDSR resolution 1.75x , no shimmer, then drop your image scaling a level or two. I think it always deserves some experimentation with each game. I've been opting to not use it with cyberpunk for the most part but with other games like Lies of P it is an incredible improvement
and then with AMD cards you could try RSR to reduce shimmering

It's maybe due to a deal with Nvidia sponsored games. When a game is Nvidia sponsored they always implement older versions of fsr.
Nvidia sponsored title and literally their own tech demo idk what to tell you.
I wonder how it looks your washing machine while centrifugate cycle.

FSR 2.1 actually isn't dumb. Every "upgrade" to FSR since then has always had drawbacks, unlike DLSS upgrades. 2.2 is arguably worse looking than 2.1, the pros of 2.1 just matter more for image quality.
