Looking at the photo you used. Showing the Grant 29 car and the Waltrip 23 car. The Grant car had the fixed wheel wells you are talking about. But Waltrips car didn't have it fixed. I realize it is a Pontiac. But one would think both would have been fixed.

I really wanna see those 2 finished, awesome projects, my friend! I watch the Nascar channel too, I've actually got that exact video saved in a folder (entitled "Nascar full races to watch", lol) to watch probably this week (sick with covid so it's not like I'm doing anything besides napping and watching stuff anyways 🤦‍♂️🤣👍) 😁✌

Wish I had your knowledge of NASCAR, especially the chassis stuff. Where does a guy learn that sort of thing? And you always have great reference photos!

I have been into the tech part of NASCAR for so many years. I've read allot about the history and development of the construction of the cars. I even moved to the South and got involved with the sport. I've knew guys that worked on the cars. Later I worked for a shop that restored vintage racecars. It just like anything if you have a big interest in. You try to learn everything you can about it.

Since you said that you wanted this channel to be like scale auto magazine. A idea maybe take a few of your nascar videos and then like the magazine used to do. Put them In a play list then it would be like the time scale auto did a all nascar themed issue

Salvinos is coming out with the Pepsi Monte Carlo sometime in the nearish future, right? Need that and a Tide Aero Coupe. But, this made think what if Bobby Allison didn't have the "crash" at Talladega in 1987 and NASCAR had been more stringent about bumpers and headlights, "stock" bodywork, stock powertrain layout and whatnot (andmore in tune with what was being manufactured as front engine rwd) in the previous years? Among other things, the Thunderbird and restrictor plates I think hastened what you see on the 88-89 Monte Carlos, when GM could no longer use horsepower to overcome the ageing bodywork...and then it's the inevitable cycle of "well you can do that"* and the other manufacturer can do the same with a body that's already more aerodynamic. I'm trying to find a decent 87 Thunderbird kit, because the change you can see between that and the 88,89,90 cars is very noticeable. However with no rules changes "the crash" would've happened sooner or later with how the cars were getting playing chicken with aerodynamic twilight zone, but I do think plates were a huge mistake and the smaller "Super Speedway" carburetors would've been the way to go. Rate of flow limits (think .something of a gallon per second) with valves would've been cool, because then "run whatever you want it's not going to make any more horsepower", BUT at the time it wouldn't have been possible. I think Keith Duckworth tried it on behalf of FISA/FIA, but couldn't get the valves to perform exactly the same. Off to a rambling tangent, if you have the time and energy to make more videos on the knowledge you have about this aspect of model building, please do so.
*Another good example of this Pandoras s***box would probably be the IMSA AAGT,GTX,Group 5 rules with the floor and what happened when Porsche read the rulebook.

I miss the ol' Montes. Not a fan of that THING GM called a Monte Carlo in 95.
