- Honda has presented its updated CBR600RR supersport.
The new Honda is equipped with an updated engine, advanced electronics and aerodynamics.
The new motorcycle is equipped with an in-line four-cylinder engine with a volume of 599 cc, which develops 121 hp at 14,250 rpm
and a maximum torque of 63 Nm at 11,500 rpm.
To achieve this performance at high speeds, various components have been optimized, such as camshafts, valve springs and crankshaft.
The diameter of the throttle bodies has been increased from 40 to 44 mm, and the intake ports have been redesigned to increase flow capacity by 2.2%.
The gas distribution phases have been adjusted to improve the efficiency of flue gas intake and exhaust. The Quickshifter will also be available as standard equipment.
It rides on a new lightweight aluminum frame with double spars.
The aluminum swingarm is 150 grams lighter than the previous model, with every part of the design redesigned to reduce weight while also providing the desired balance of stiffness.
Suspension components include a 41mm Showa Big Piston inverted fork and a Showa Pro-Link shock absorber.The bike's gross weight is only 193 kg.
The new sportbike utilizes the 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) system found in the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade and includes throttle control, 5 riding modes, and cornering ABS,9-level Honda Selectable Torque Control , Wheelie Control, Rear Lift Control and Emergency Stop Signals.
Honda Electronic Steering Damper, an assist/slipper clutch and quickshifter are also standard fit.
The official price has not yet been disclosed, but according to recent rumors, it should be around $13,600.

The 07-08 600rr is suposed to be the best of the 600rr series up till that new 2023-24 model that still we have no review of what really honda came up with.
I dont care about all tha crappy electronics,that bike never needed any of them,i would just like to see that honda came up with an even more compact-swifter and rider friendly bike and maybe with a bit more of hps throughout the whole revs,thats all.
I used to have that tricolore 08 600rr model.
That secure feeling of absolute control that thing gave me all the time no matter what is beyond description.

What a beauty!! Have always found it strange they stopped making the CBR600RR, great that it's back!
-What I do find strange is that the dry weight is at 193KG...- -My -*-'94 CBR900RR-*- has a dry weight of 185KG (205KG Curb-weight)-
-The 2002 Fireblade only weighs 168KG dry (195KG Curb-weight)-
A lot has changed in over 20 years. Emission restrictions were the reason they stopped. Now they've cleared that and production continues. Emission control and the new ride-aids don't come free - they add weight...

@@R2_D3 Indeed. The Blade was and is a Legend. Not the new one though, others make the #1 hypersports today. Same with the Blackbird - it's a Legend but Honda won't make anything like it these days.
Good thing I prefer fun and ridability over the highest speeds so I can still ride a Honda.
It's way more fun to ride a "slow" bike fast than ride a fast bike slow.

I've been set on the 07-12 model 600rrs as THE best looking sportsbike in my opinion (i've owned 4 including my current 09).
But I think Honda has finally surpassed its earlier model.

Why are they so heavy, 193Kgs is silly, my '98 600 which I consider a little heavy is 176kg. Add lightness not weight to improve things.

Almost same hp the last 15 years. Something tells me these bikes have less priority and won't get the attention the litre bikes get.
It still looks like a properly good bike, I just also know it wouldn't hurt to throw another 20hp in there.
Personally I feel 750cc is where the different brands should put their attention, and make those bikes properly good.

It is hard to squeez out more from 600 cc without making the engine to loud and unreliable also there are new regulations coming all the time so it is good that they at least keep their power. Without all the stuff they have to put in the exhaust nowadays, this bike could easily have 130 hp. But I agree 750 cc is also the sweetspot for me. Unfortunately the GSX-R750 is not sold anymore in my country due to guess what: Regulations. Thanks EU, not.
@@DashRendar308 If they can squeeze out more of the 1000cc bikes every year they can do the same with any cc. They could easily do it if they just wanted to.
If you do the math you will see that the 600 and 1000 cc bikes are already very close, when it comes to horsepower per liter, in that way the 1000s were very under performing, when they first came to the market, while the 600s were already much closer to their limit back then. Also 10 more hp out of a 1000 is much less of an achievment, than trying to get the same out of a 600. Also the 1000 cc bikes today pretty much stagnated when it comes to power and it seems they have now reached the limit to what is reasonably possible. And sure they could squeeze a bit more out of a 600, but it would not make much sense to increase the price of these bikes that much for a few more hp, everyone would just buy the cheaper option then that got a few less hp or go for a 1000 cc instead. Thats why I love the 750, its the sweet spot. Unfortunately not many are made anymore. @@a8f235
So is it a new updated engine ir the same one? The 600RR has been the only 600 that makes under 100hp to the tire. My 2014 636 stock makes 114rwhp/136hp @ the crank. So is this RR making 121hp at the crank or at the tire? If it's to the tire, then that's impressive. That's what mine makes tuned. 128 on E-85.
It wouldn't be a good street bike. All the power is at peak revs. Kawasaki better.

@@felix2000fk it's not even a competition between new 650r and 600rr. 650r is sport touring, 600rr is supersport not even mentioning the extra features 600rr has over 650r(cornering abs,wheelie control,rear lift control,quickshifter,suspesion,etc.)

I get the sneaking suspicion Honda sacrificed mid-range torque for those few ponies up top. 63nm is just not very impressive for a bike with compression ratio over 13:1. Time will tell. She looks fabulous, that is for sure.

It's beautiful man, but it's not worth the price. You can get 2010 for $3,000 US. And add a few aftermarket parts and get the same if not better performance. Yea your not getting all the fancy tech but so what. There's plenty in mint condition and they last forever. My 07 was my favorite bike and I been riding 25yrs.

Put left leg back on peg use rear brake you aint goung fast enough on 600 to peg air brake, hell is bs on 1000 rear brake works better than a leg in air. Leg not catching enough at 180 to do any real braking is all show shit
