It's rather moot though when you can right click the enemy your character is fighting to bypass the stagger animation entirely. Sounds cheap, I know. But enemies will often do this due to how AI goals work.
@@HappyAspid That might be, but said tactic is actually even better in larger battles in my experience as getting your characters out of stagger makes them swing their weapon more and hit enemies around them regardless of their target blocking.
Only 2 things I can add to this. 1) The good hackers are definitely A tier, but the bad ones are garbage, hackers probably vary the most as far as quality in any weapon class, so ranking them as a group is hard. 2) Farming should probably go from B to A. After you have enough food for everyone, you can start making money from farming. Hemp/cotton for armor/weapons. Then there's the alcohol and hashish you can make from your extra food. The extra farming you don't need basically becomes passive income and higher skill levels print more cats.
@@KokoplaysMB Another thing you didn't consider was the actual attack animations. Hackers have the best animations in the game and deserve a spot in A tier.
@@robertfaer4522they literally have the same animations as blunt and heavy weapons. They have the overhand swing that every weapon class has, and they have the baseball swing.
So dodge is what allows you to dodge attacks when you’re already stumbling. Like when you have been staggered by melee, still have a weapon, but instead of blocking, you jump out of the way of the next attack. That’s dodge. And doing this will level up your dodge as well, it’s just a really slow way of doing it
Polearms in my opinion are the best weapons class, might not have the best damage but the fact the weapons have high cut variation (naginata katana) and high blunt variations (staff) means that at any stage in the game a polearms man can be useful. Not to forget the bonus to animals which is very useful when your base is in beak thing territory
Or using a Naginata Katana to take on bandits of various levels, beak things, AND cannibals/fishmen. Hackers are when it's time to establish a base in -Mordor- Sonorous Dark.
I have found swimming speed is massively affected by swim skill, like an over 10 times speed difference, to the point where swimming can be faster then running for some characters, witch on note of leveling it seems to level very fast compared to athletics, but notably enemies like crab and beak things may chase in the water quite a bit with low swim skill they will catch you, with high skill they never will, in regards to small rivers to avoid water enemies with low swim skill going threw the river will often do nothing but have everything catch you faster, with high skill you can escape very fast as soon as they enter the water.
i Agree with most of this list, with one exception. Long Cleaver is the best weapon against heavy armor enemies like tanky samurais, and later in the game you're most likely going up against alot of enemies with heavy armor. Hackers are S tier
Stealth needs to be higher as it's required for assassination and basically for thievery. Athletics and stealth together are great for runners/transportation. Just tell them where to go and just keep an eye out for when they get there, you don't have to worry about them, even from beak things. Massively cuts down on micromanaging. Where's precision? That's honestly more important than both crossbow and turret skills as it's how you avoid hitting your own people. Which can easily be an instakill with the high end weapons.
Most skills are important in this game, especially if you want a self sustaining base. I personally refrain from ranged weapons, so I don't need perception, crossbow, turrents and crossbowsmith. However an optimal base would need turrents. Thieve skills (Sneak, assasination, steal and lockpick) are technically optional, but they make the game much more fun.

It kinda annoys me that smithing your own weapons will never be as good as the weapons you can find out in the world. Smithing your own weapons is a much bigger investment, you need to build a base, research a bunch of stuff, acquire weapon blueprints around the world, gather all the needed materials, spend time leveling up a weapon smith, and finally get lucky with a critical success. All that only to get a worse weapon than one sneaky boi can get by walking up to a person of interest and tickling their neck.
