Two years ago, when I first found out about them, I wanted one.
I have always wanted a pet reptile. But my parents hate snakes. We were going to get a tortoise/turtle, but then we realized that wouldn't work out.
So I wanted a leopard gecko. But then I found out Crested geckos were even better.
So, in a deal to get them, I had to do a months research on them before getting them. Determined, I did the research. And your video helped me a lot.
I had to do a report for my parents, most of the report had to do with your facts on this exact video, and eventually we went to our pet store. (Specifically for reptiles.)
As soon as I saw the baby crested geckos in the tank, I fell in love. My parents set up a date for adoption, and they marked one with a red dot that meant she was getting adopted.(came off when she shed, and she could eat it)
Then, the day before Christmas, we picked her up. The whole first week, I let her settle in to her new environment. (As you're supposed to do)
Then, I handled her. I knew they would jump a lot, especially as baby's when they are just getting used to you, but the first time she jumped it freaked me out. I soon got used to it, and now when she jumps, I don't even flinch.
Anyways, it's been two years, and she's doing great. She's growing pretty fast now, and I can't wait to see her be an adult.

Hi, another great video on the Crested Gecko , Have you every thought of getting a West African Fire Skink ? There's very little Information out there especially from the UK ! I think their a great pet mine is only 4 months old , their a mix of lizard x snake x frog . Please keep making these informative videos.

I wanna get a Chameleon but someone suggested getting a Crested Gecko first ! Now that I see them I want one! I'm thinking of getting one these and keeping it even when I get my chameleon now I'll just get a Gecko first :)

I wouldn't recommend a chameleon as a pet, very hard to care for and very fragile.

My crested’s tanks temp is usually always 70 is that ok or should I raise or lower it?
I have a crested gecko had him for about a year and a half he’s in a mesh cage with 4 plants, a cave, a piece of driftwood, and a heat lamp and UVB, would you recommend to get a glass tank and remove the lamp? He never comes out and always hides he’s also scared of me. Right now, I turn his lamp on at about 11:00 am est and turn it off about 11:00 pm, then cover his cage up with a blanket would you suggest getting him a glass cage and no lamp? And if so what size cage? He’s about a year and 7 months old.

i like the info just wondering though, if you have enough hides, wouldn't the lights being on for 4-6hrs a day thing be pretty much void? considering the animal would presumably move to a darker spot if it was bothering it

They do well in room temp, which is usually anywhere between 65 and 75 oF

Hehe, I'd love to see one on Goniurosaurus geckos. I could provide you some photos of my luii and some facts I learned while caring for him. I was going to get a crestie before I got him, in fact. I think that the caving issue turned me away. Like I said before (maybe? lol) I'm not sure how I'd go about keeping high humidity while maintaining airflow. Additionally, the breeder I contacted dropped of the face of the Earth so I kinda left the notion of crestics or Rhacs in general a bit dishearted. I'm happy I ended up with my Goniurosaurus, though. I want to see these guys be big in the future for herpetoculture.
Yeah humidity is probably the most difficult part of keeping cresties, other than that they're pretty simple :)

Quick question, I'm going to be buying a crested and I was wondering if you would recommend a heat lamp. My plan is to have it on one side of the tank and leave the other side as a cooler place. Is this a good plan?
Really cresties don't require heat, unless you live in a really cold state. This is 2 years late lmao

Hello there, I was thinking of buying one of these as a pet quite soon as they are very interesting creatures. However, there's still a few questions that have been left unanswered (Mind you, I am completely new to this whole owning a reptile and caring for them). I am planning on getting a Reptile Terrarium from a local pet store chain that is 16"L x 16"W x 24"H. My biggest concern is that I am not sure if this is big enough for more than one gecko. Ideally, I would like to get one to start out with and add in a few more later on. How many geckos can live in this environment without space becoming an issue?
Also, I know you mentioned that you can have more than one if they are females. Ideally, I would like around 4 of them at some point. Would this space become an issue for 4 female reptiles? Is there a risk of them killing each other if there is a significant age difference?

Hello I have a question @leopard gecko. I have two Crested (Eye-lashed) geckos. One is a male and the other is a female. The Female Gecko is very calm while on the other hand the male is very jump and bites a lot. They also laid eggs so which made me believe that is just their natural behavior as parents do you think this is true

If you ever get another gecko, look at a gargoyle gecko they live in new Calidonia and have the exact same care as a cresty
Couple clarifications:
Regarding how to tell if they're sleeping, if you're familiar with the gecko it will be fairly obvious. They will be completely fired down (very pale, almost looks like they're in shed), crests will droop over the eyes as mentioned in the video, and irises will be closed down to slits.
Prehensile tail. Not completely. It's not prehensile to the degree that chameleons, or a closer comparison Chahoua geckos, tails are. They have some control of them and can hook them over things to assist climbing but it isn't the high degree of dexterity the aforementioned examples are capable of.

+fedora freddy That also depends on the size of the ball python. I had one that I rescued and she was 5 feet long its hurt like hell but it was a quick pinch from her teeth. Other than that your right it is rare that they do. I found out that the previous owners kept her cold, hardly fed her, and flicked her nose. Now she is healthy and live with my brother who spoils her.

I had some of these as pets when I was a kid I would say 92 298 somewhere around there I got them for free out of the pennysaver the reason I got them primarily is I wanted the cage that came with I did successfully breed them Anand I'm wondering if I unintentionally help endangered species for reference I was a little kid didn't know what I was doing or what they were only recently found out they might endangered

hi I have a tangerine leopard gecko female and sometimes I notice she is a little darker in color and sometimes gets brighter in color idk what is causing it she eats fine and loves to lay on her rock I have but is this normal behavior ?

So I've had problems with my Crestie Yoshi eating. We gave him Pangea and even put him into his food dish, but he didn't eat. I haven't seen him poop and we have offered gut-loaded crickets. Any suggestions??

my crested gecko is missing a toe nail on his front leg and missing a toe on his back leg is this bad. i just got him 3 days ago. also he's 4 years old and he pretty fat but squishy. he eats 12 crickets a month and he eats a little lid of baby food (banana) every other day
