@@Danilli29 hey thank you so much for watching and commenting! So in general I play pretty aggressively. I use vanguard 95% of the time and so I’m melting mobs with the melts and working my way to elites most of the time. If I had to explain how I visualize the battlefield …I see the field, although flat, as being a vertical rock climbing/bouldering wall and as if every enemy is a protrusion I grab onto (if I execute) on my way to my end goal of the top most rock (the priority target, elite, mini boss whatever) So sometimes I’ll melt them with the melta, other times I’ll hit dash then melee light attack on the fodder because that will trigger a gun strike and help me replenish armor on my way to my real target etc. If there are many ranged enemies, but no close melee enemies to “grab onto” then I’ll pull out my pistol and shoot them all a few times to put them in executable states instead of aiming to kill them, then I’ll use the down time to sprint over, execute one, sparta kick the other, fire off a melta round for good measure and say merry Christmas you damn dirty apes. So yeah that’s basically my playstyle in a nutshell
assault needs a buff. it should be able to melee better than vanguard, but currently assault is a dodge gun-strike performative art - which is kinda lame - assault needs to be in the mix wrecking everything CQB style and it's very dissappointing. when i feel sad i bring out the maxed heavy and all is good again ;) great vid.

so, can you parry as soon as the blue circle appears? or does it have to be done within a certain time as the blue circle is visible? i feel like it's inconsistent...
@@chobitASHL3Y The community is very confused by this it seems. I’ll try to explain it here as concisely and clearly as I can : The blue indicator is to inform you that an attack with a wind up is on the way. That being said, in this game, much like in sekiro or a soulslike game, the parry timing depends on the actual attack. Meaning the timing changes based on what the enemy is doing. This isn’t inconsistency, this is just difficulty. It requires you to learn the different attacks. The blue indicator is not a quick time event in other words. You need to still pay attention to the attack that is being charged up. Example : tyranid majoris can get the blue circle when they charge a backwards jump + projectile attack they do if they are stuck too close to you, this one comes out fast and you need to parry almost immediately as the circle appears. They also get the blue circle if they are far and they lean their head down to charge up a leap attack to close the distance on you with their two swords. This one is slower and you need to actually pay attention to when their feet leave the ground. You can end up parrying too early otherwise. Again this isn’t inconsistency. Much like any other game with a skill gap, this game requires you to react to what is specifically on screen at that moment. It is not a quick time event. I think what is throwing people off is the fact that the blue circle exists at all. If it didn’t appear at all, ever, people would have no issues I suspect.
So do you parry the attacks with no indicator with the same timing you parry the blue indicator attacks? Or do you wait until shortly before the connect?
When you see them in the windup to strike press the parry button, most attacks have a delay. (the non blue ones) You just have to remember you’re accounting for your windup too. Things like lictors attack super fast so don’t wait for a windup attack from them, just press it as soon as they start their attack. For the blue parries on majoris and up, the SECOND you see the symbol press the parry button.
@@Proximoprod yes ! Same timing, as there said above : when they are winding up, press the parry button so that they attack INTO the “brace” portion of the parry animation.
I'd take it that works on the knife. And the chain saw. Then cos you video showing you doing it on the chain? So when you go in the game, you're using the combat knife

@@COA5T exactly! Bought the weapon first and then used the armoury data to master, you can also simply use the weapon and you will gain xp on it, either way works. The armoury data way is just faster !

Not to mention stun stack. Anything with stagger can overlap their stagger and land a full combo. They worked on the ranged damage but warriors are infamous for landing full combos if just one gets a hit while another is winding up.

What bugs me is you can’t attack in this game, you’ll get torn apart if you’re locked in an attack animation. The only correct way to play, as shown here, is to just stand there and wait to be attacked.
@@horg7203 Depends on the weapon and class. My example being Assault with a hammer that doesn't have parry because I like hitting like a truck and find standing there waiting for parries to be very boring. But because of that I also find myself dieing far more often than others simply because I choose to use a more powerful weapon. Also Assault has the worst survival so that doesn't help.
you can parry at any time even while attacking the parry will interrupt your attack, but the timing it is key to a successful parry. Also double tapping will sometimes save you from unexpected attacks from multiple enemies.
@@ZergaeDelacroixtell me you cannot assault without telling me you cannot assault. Brother I main assault with hammer and you absolutely CAN and should animation cancel your melee for parry, dodge and gunstrike. If you aren’t running a fencing type hammer then you are NOT playing assault properly.

@@CalAndAly aaaaayyy awesome dude thanks a lot ! Don’t they have to be official though? I really don’t know how it all works lol, I need a warhammer education for sure
i think the parry system is stupid. you literally, even in this video, dance around waiting for them to attack so you can parry. it slows down combat, prevents combat, the animation is slow. you should be moving down enemies.... dodge was better and still offers gun strike and you can dodge at any time in combat. your not dancing around like a tard waiting for blue circles to show up. they should of used that time to enhance more customization further. and the game should be about mowing down even more hordes like hundreds with less health, not turing it into a dance lesson with a couple (supposed to be insignificant) minor enemies.
He’s doing that because he’s trying to demonstrate parry timing, so he’s baiting parries. Obviously you don’t have to play just by baiting parries and I doubt that’s how he would typically play. You don’t want to spam attack, but you can and do attack during windows.
@@adrionyekel8001 I am literally making a video about how to parry, you do not have to stop to do this nor do I normally. Enemies are being melted to a crisp on sight and parry, gun strike, execution is being weaved in. The system in this game is fantastic!

So in general I play pretty aggressively. I use vanguard 95% of the time and so I’m melting mobs with the melts and working my way to elites most of the time.
If I had to explain how I visualize the battlefield …I see the field, although flat, as being a vertical rock climbing/bouldering wall and as if every enemy is a protrusion I grab onto (if I execute) on my way to my end goal of the top most rock (the priority target, elite, mini boss whatever)
So sometimes I’ll melt them with the melta, other times I’ll hit dash then melee light attack on the fodder because that will trigger a gun strike and help me replenish armor on my way to my real target etc.
Thanks for the video, very helpful. 🤘☠️🤘
@@Titan19701 thank you for the support!!
Wowww I was using a block knife instead of a fencing one….i thought I was just trash
assault needs a buff. it should be able to melee better than vanguard, but currently assault is a dodge gun-strike performative art - which is kinda lame - assault needs to be in the mix wrecking everything CQB style and it's very dissappointing. when i feel sad i bring out the maxed heavy and all is good again ;) great vid.
@@nanob0zo thank you!! Glad you liked it!! I’ve been hearing a lot of complaints about assault actually so I’m very curious to try him out and level it up !
I don't play assault outside pvp but assault and heavy always have 400-500 plus kills every ruthless I play and the assault is literally hammering away exclusively. Vanguard tends to be 100-300 kills at most. Vanguard has better parry but assault just cleaves through everything.
@@DavidTector yeah. I want to be good at assault. But I haven’t found a combo of weapon and perks that fits my style. I would prefer a better armor/health regen based on the number of enemies surrounding you. I love to fly into the mob and fight out. But I always die lol. so, can you parry as soon as the blue circle appears? or does it have to be done within a certain time as the blue circle is visible? i feel like it's inconsistent...
@@chobitASHL3Y The community is very confused by this it seems. I’ll try to explain it here as concisely and clearly as I can :
The blue indicator is to inform you that an attack with a wind up is on the way.
@@horg7203 yeah, i don't play soulsborne games at all and i thought the blue circle was a qte...
@@GoToBedSheeva great, thank you very much!! Here, have a sub 👍🏽

Except that half the time the warriors just stand in front of you with their swords in blocking stance and you get shot by the termagaunts with their little pissant guns. All the parry skill in the world won't help you then. Game needs tuning.

The only correct way to play, as shown here, is to just stand there and wait to be attacked.
not true!

@@Lowflyingmoose my computer is garbage, that’s mostly why. Looking to buy a new PC soon
i think the parry system is stupid. you literally, even in this video, dance around waiting for them to attack so you can parry. it slows down combat, prevents combat, the animation is slow. you should be moving down enemies.... dodge was better and still offers gun strike and you can dodge at any time in combat. your not dancing around like a tard waiting for blue circles to show up. they should of used that time to enhance more customization further. and the game should be about mowing down even more hordes like hundreds with less health, not turing it into a dance lesson with a couple (supposed to be insignificant) minor enemies.
