  • This gun is not very fun to shoot, and I do not say that too often. I have always wanted to try one of these little derringer style pistols. Now I know I am not missing much.

I love my rowdy.. not my self defense firearm.. but a backup, and always have it with me when backpacking and camping. Makes a great rattle snake charmer

A couple of points from a Bond Arms owner:
    1. The trigger works best when you put your tigger finger at the bottom of the trigger and press DOWN, not pull back. It's not bad when you do that.
    2. The best grip is a weaver style grip, using your off-hand thumb to cock the hammer back. You can send two shots pretty quickly.
    3. There are optional grips that are a little extended. That goes very well when shooting stiff cartridges.
    4. Slugs are just about useless. Skip them. 000 Buck or 45lc.
    5. It's acceptably accurate out to 7-10 yd.
I carry mine often in the sideways holster (I have the Patriot model). Its very comfortable and I have a belt ammo holster that carries an additional 4 rds should I need to reload. This type of firearm typically finds its use as an emergency defensive firearm or a backup. With the holster that I have, it's very comfortable while I'm driving plus it draws very easily from the seated position. I carry 45lc but I like having the option for 410.

I've had one of these for about 2 years. Love it. It's a tank. It has a slight advantage over a lot of revolvers, in that there is no cylinder gap to reduce velocity. Of course the two round capacity erases that advantage.

Got 2 Bond Arms Grizzly and Snake Slayer..45 colt is a stopper. .410 Winchester PDX1 defender is a nice close feelings hurting round. I have that loaded in my Snake Slayer for my truck gun. Safety will not allow the hammer to contact to round!! As you see the hammer is in a open position not like other hammers that are in contact with the bullet. You do feel the power 😂😅😊

You have to pull down and back on the trigger and not back. You need the OEM Bond Arms Extended grip, I have the .45Colt and not only is OEM Bond Arms Extended grip easier on your hand but also it’s much easier to manipulate the gun. Anything over .38 needs the larger grip. Once you learn the gun it’s easy to shoot. Most don’t understand the trigger on a Bond Arms, watching videos you will see the difference between people who know the gun and those that don’t. FYI, if you get large grips get the more expensive OEM Bond Arms Extended grip, the cheap ones sold on EBay and Amazon don’t fit right and will split after some shooting, they just don’t hold up. I bought the ones on EBay and they started splitting after 10 rounds, luckily it happened within the return time. I ended up paying the money for the Bond Arms OEM Extended grip and glad I did. Once you learn the gun they are a lot of fun. People that learn the gun will never sell theirs.
Also, to use the trigger well remove the trigger guard, it makes it easier to press down and back on the trigger.

For those who don’t know about derringers… they are meant for up close and personal situations if you can’t get to your primary weapon in time.. if you get one round off with the derringer you then have time to follow up with your primary weapon if necessary

lol this ones been on my want to shoot list for years.
your vid is the first I've seen that doesn't sound like an infomercial. Wondered about blowback with those short barrels and the loading issues with turning the barrel towards your face.
looks like i"ll be researching different derringer makers soon

My dude get the 38 barrel it has like zero recoil. It’s fun as hell to shoot and with practice, I shoot it about as well at five long steps as a j frame or lcp. The trigger takes a whole lot of getting used to because it pivots downward but it’s actually a decent break. Just throw some spent cases in there and snap away you’ll get accustomed to it. The barrels have different poi too so ya have to figure it out like patterning a shotgun or like site pins on a bow. Just put duct tape in the shape of a cross then aim at the middle of the cross then fire the second one. Mine hits the top of a 24 oz can with one barrel and the bottom of the can with the second one with both shots aimed at the top of the can at five yards. I actually do carry mine in my pocket with the safety on at work because I have to tuck my uniform shirt in and the gun is small enough that it doesn’t print at all in uniform pants with big ass pockets.

It’s a belly gun. It doesn’t need a MATCH GRADE trigger. Does it ?

As another said , get Lower on trigger & pull Down-Back
    Don't choke-up against Hammer ,
    it increases resistance on Trigger
    Get a longer Grip
    Paint front Sight-Blade
    Point-of-Impact higher for Top Barrel
    Have fun 😀
    ( or pawn it )

They definitely have a stiff trigger pull. It rotates top or bottom every time you cock the hammer so it's different depending.

It’s a belly gun. It really doesn’t need a MATCH GRADE trigger for its purpose

The trigger is not that stiff if it’s pulled properly pressing down instead of back.

A 45 colt is no small cartridge. I spoze it will sting some. Get a .22 lr. Probably not so brutal 😢 ha hahaha
