Camera work was fuzzy, blurry and shaky, I thought the operator maybe had the DT’s? However on the positive side, it was a nice reminder of my days at the BICC from 1965 to 74 and I thank you for those memories.
I'm only 15 years old but ive lived here my whole life so I don't remember the BICC but it's so weird seeing places like Bridge Road not leading to the new estates. Station road especially, I only ever remember it leading to behind the North shops on the retail park but seeing it head into an industrialised area is surreal
When I visit Prescot these days, I always remember how it looked before 1987. I have in some other footage walking up station road which was at the bottom of bridge road. In the footage I stopped and focused the camera through the factory windows watching the copper being turned onto the wheels. My first experience of being drunk was Sitting on that roof. Naught me.
I lived in molyneux and at 8 in a morn the bi buzzer went off same at 12 ,I and half 5 for the workers to to home I walked up station Rd going to school at besnconfields St the church school some times I went home down Manchester Road we used to call it the train way as the little train that went into the factory mum used to say Prescot will die when they shut down the bi and I think it's true I live in St helens but used tk go back to mums every week to see her and dad hut I wouldn't live jn Prescot now for a gold clock it's changed so much
I have fond memories of Prescot certainly the walk home from school in the early 90s with my mate undies and shawn. The factory was derelict and an incredible playground.
I grew up on Shaw Lane and remember this version of Prescot well. I left in 92 and haven’t been back since

Yes dad was a very shaken camera man, though I think I may be the suspect in this footage. Glad you liked it.
