    "I am not sure what it's worth but I probably spent around twice that"
    That perfectly describes all of my bikes!
    Your 400SS looks very nice. Will be easy to sell especially now with the riding season about to start.

    Hi, thanks for this most interesting video. I've got a 600 and after changing the master cylinder the clutch won't disengage (when cold). The circuit is completely free of air and the problem will disappear once hot... could it be my clutch plates?

    • @bradthebikeboy
      @bradthebikeboy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      if it was ok before you replaced the master, and now it's not, then it's either the master or hydraulic. never seen one that is dependant on heat that i can recall, unless it's a lever freeplay / compensating port blockage issue.

    Hi Brad, I'm typing this at about 19mins in and I was going to ask if you check the plain plates for flatness! An blow me down you just do it! I've had so many wobbly dry clutch plain plates that I check them all on a glass plate. What springs do you recommend for my Supermono project using 1/2 a 916 or 996 ST engine?

    • @bradthebikeboy
      @bradthebikeboy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      depends how many springs you want to run. if it's half of everything with a normal clutch then it should only need half the seat pressure.

    Hi Brad, I've got a weird happening on my 750ss.
    I've just reassembled my clutch and added a additional plate and friction plate as the clutch was slipping and seemed to have a lot of play in the basket.
    Now I get lever lock when going through the lower gears some time, ie the clutch lever will litrally jam half way through its travel at the bar.
    I've had it back apart and the slave piston appears well and seals are good.
    You mention about the basket falling off the back of the cage in the video, is this a possibility, could there be too many plates?
    Would you know how many a 94 750ss should have?
    Hope you can help I'm about to take it to a shop but would much rather do the work myself as these bikes are generally easy to work on.

      i think i got an extra plate into my 750 clutch pack, but maybe i used thinner steels, i don't recall now. hard to say without actually seeing yours. if it's slipping, put a new pack in it.

      @@bradthebikeboy it turns out I had too many plates causing the clutch actuator to lock up, I removed a plate and it's good again.
      Thanks for reply

    I know this is an old post but I thought I'd ask a question here and hope you see it. I recently put a Newfren clutch in my m600 1994 which went absolute fine. I replaced all the plates and springs too which made finding neutral so much better.
    BUT when pulling away now with revs up a bit more I get this almost moaning noise or grrrr noise. It's definitely the clutch. I'm just wondering if you came across this or is there anything I may have done wrong?

    • @bradthebikeboy
      @bradthebikeboy  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      it's pretty hard to know. if it's not a physical stuff hitting stuff noise, and it's only on take off, i'm not sure that i'd be too concerned. but it's your bike and i'm not near it to hear/feel what it's doing. or just pull it apart again.

      @@bradthebikeboy yes I'll maybe take it apart again and take another look. Keep up the videos, they're very helpful.

      at a shop that sells motorcycle clutches? ebay? bit hard to give a specific answer without knowing where in the world you are. if you want newfren find the newfren distributor for your area and ask them.

      @@smotortips4875 given yours is a 99 it would have had a steel pack in it, but the genuine part number for it now is the later aluminium pack used up to the end of the normal wet clutch in 2008. i'd use aluminium backed friction plates - it's in oil so there won't be any real wear from being in a steel basket. newfren # is f1565. oem is 19020092b.
