@Leo Bruno That was only in the dubbed version. Funimation edited that to say he was an alien becuase they went back and did dragon ball after they had already done Z and added thing like that. That's why the narrator also refers to Demon King Piccolo as an alien at times even though that was never in the japense version. In the Japanese it was only during the Z portion of the story that Goku and Piccolo were both retconed to be aliens.
I really like the scene in which goku transforms into ss3 and we're shown a complete regression from ozaru to baby goku. It makes me think that the people who wrote GT used this scene as inspiration for the ss4 transformation.
Oozaru (大猿) is pronounced like "Oh-zaru." It literally just means Big Monkey. Japanese syllables don't change their sounds contextually like english letters, so an O always sounds like "Oh," even if there are more than one together. It just makes the "Ohh" longer.
I always seemed the Oozaru transformation as kinda weak because of the whole some Saiyans having no control over it and the form kinda seems irrelevant now with the whole Super Saiyan God Forms and how Broly is able to use the Ape form and tap into the power without transforming into the form

sir cacahuate the third the ikari or wrathful form is the normal oozaru form controlled in humanoid form. SS4 is the Golden oozaru form controlled in humanoid form. They have similar concept but aren’t the same, so technically SS4 could come in still.
Son Gohan If Akira Toriyama decides to make Super Saiyan 4 canon and CHANGE the Super Saiyan 4 design, I would like the new canonized Super Saiyan 4 to be GOLDEN.

Oozaru has always been one of my favorite Transformations Saiyans can do, but it doesn't hold a candle to original Super Saiyan and so on. We already had the Golden Oozaru in GT, but do you think we would ever see like Oozaru God or Oozaru Blue? Maybe in Dragon Ball Heroes.
But wouldn't it make more sense with cabba's comments if they WERE originally ouzaru? He mentions that they HAD the tails before but lost them, so back in the past they were MORE like the ouzaru. It only makes sense if you continue that trend that they would originally have been fully great apes.
Also Universe 6 Saiyans are more peaceful so maybe they lost their tails because they weren't warriors like in Universe 7 and didn't need the Great Ape Form

I'm so glad you made this series Geekdom. I've always enjoyed watching your Geekdom Quickies and Dragon Ball In depth as it expanded my knowledge even more about Dragon Ball, but what I really wanted to watch from you is videos on the transformations of Dragon Ball, since not too many people are knowledgeable about these transformations, but I stick with my true knowledge, but I'm just glad to finally watch a reliable source of the Dragon Ball transformation line up and not just for the Saiyans. When I was little, I caught of glimpse of young Goku turning back to normal after becoming a Great Ape and this transformation has stayed with me since. I'm a sad this form isn't used much anymore because I always saw the Oozaru form as the manifestation of the Saiyan's dark side, which contrast nicely with the Super Saiyan
The idea that saiyans were oozaru frist and evolved into humanoids is tough! I think this gives more context on why Frieza kept calling Goku and Vegeta monkeys when they clearly were just humans with(out) a tail. Or even better it gives more context on why they're laughed at throughout the universe, many people calling them weak.

In my opinion, I kinda think the fact that the Universe 6 saiyans lost their tails reenforces the fact that they evolved from the great app into a more humanoid form, slowly becoming more humanoid until all they had left was their immense strength

Therefore, again using GT's logic, if Broly was able to control himself when stacking SSJ on top of his Oozaru state, he could theoretically undergo a transformation similar to SSJ4.
I'm really excited for this series of videos because when it comes to power scaling, transformations are one of the factors that throws me off the most. Especially for characters like Cell and Bus where I'm wondering how each of their transformations increase their powers.

Mega Wave Anime My Nigga it’s been speculation and pretty much known in the dB community that super saiyan is a 50x boost from base form. Unless they retcon great up I don’t see much of a need for great ape transformation.

Here's a thought, if a saiyan's strength increases only tenfold when they transform into an oozaru theoretically they actually get weaker in proportion to their increased size. An oozaru transformation increases the saiyan's size by definitely more than 10 times it's original mass. So for it to render only a tenfold strength increase makes me feel like their comparatively weaker in body proportions. The introduction of the humanoid oozaru form in Dragon Ball Super Broly really made it clear how much more efficient that transformation would be. To increase in strength but still maintain your proportional size sounds way more efficient. What are your thoughts?

Hey geekdom did you know that in DBZ Budokai Tenkaieci 3 the other Saiyan characters like Raditz, Nappa, and Turles can transform into Great Apes, but they both seem to lose their intelligence and become savage. I always wondered what would happen if those characters become great apes against the hero’s cause that would have been cool to see.
After the news about Akira Toriyama I started watch Dragonball again from the very beginning, and I just got to the point where Goku first transforms into an Ozaru. I was reminded that Grampa Gohan was killed by Goku as an Ozaru, but I was also reminded that Grampa Gohan warned Goku not to look at the full moon because of the "monster" that appears at that time. That means that before Goku and Co. get captured by Pilaf he had turned into an Ozaru at least twice off screen before that. How did Grampa Gohan survive the first time Goku transformed, how did Goku keep his tail, why didn't Gohan destroy the moon, and why didn't whatever Gohan did to survive Goku's Ozaru form work the time he was killed?
Fact: if a saiyan gets got multiple times by Frieza’s red bean till almost dead and ate a senzu bean, frieza could entertain him self for a while until the saiyan overpowers Frieza
The Golden Great Ape transformation is very underrated. Dragon Ball has always been about Super Saiyans. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the Super Saiyan transformations as much as the the next guy, but I think the Great Ape transformations should get more attention in the future of Dragon Ball. Dragon Ball Super is about to continue with the Moro saga, so hopefully the Great Ape forms will come back. Since, Goku & Vegeta are relying on their Ultra Instinct/Super Saiyan God powers, since BROLY is still alive after the Dragon Ball Super Broly movie, Broly should regrow a Saiyan tail so he can turn into a Great Ape OR a GOLDEN Great Ape so Broly can possibly go SUPER SAIYAN 4!

Goku didn't know he was a Saiyan until Raditz came and revealed it to him in the beginning of Dragon Ball Z. The DBZ Bardock the Father of Goku took place BEFORE Dragon Ball, the story of Kid Goku and it was about Saiyans, but the DBZ Bardock the Father of GOKU special didn't mention anything about a Super Saiyan.
You guys know that Oozarus are a very powerful form of a Saiyan, because it took Goku human form four transformations to be in SSJ4 level of power while it took Oozaru Goku form one simple transformation and that is Golden Oozaru. Now just imagine how powerful Oozaru Goku would become if he combine it with either God ki or Ultra Instinct state of mind.
A lot of times things get disregarded cuz it wasn't in the magna but at this point I'd say when it comes to DB facts now it depends on which canon you pick cuz the show by now should be a valid source
Back in December, i commented on a Broly video that Sayian were originally Ozaru and then became humanoid. there are also rumors that among the ozaru was a leader, hence the reason Sayians claim the leader title of king to lead them. heard that the true Ozaru king could be transformed into golden through primal rage and Broly LSSJ FORM(FULL POWER) came from that genetic.

The biggest question that 0 other people will ever ask is what would happen if a Saiyan looks at the moon during the lunar eclipse? Taking consideration that the lunar eclipse is when the Earth blocks the sun casting a shadow on the moon making it blood red. Would the Saiyans turn into a weaker version of the oozaru, or would they not transform at all?

I was reminded that Grampa Gohan was killed by Goku as an Ozaru, but I was also reminded that Grampa Gohan warned Goku not to look at the full moon because of the "monster" that appears at that time. That means that before Goku and Co. get captured by Pilaf he had turned into an Ozaru at least twice off screen before that. How did Grampa Gohan survive the first time Goku transformed, how did Goku keep his tail, why didn't Gohan destroy the moon, and why didn't whatever Gohan did to survive Goku's Ozaru form work the time he was killed?

The Golden Great Ape transformation is very underrated. Dragon Ball has always been about Super Saiyans. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the Super Saiyan transformations as much as the the next guy, but I think the Great Ape transformations should get more attention in the future of Dragon Ball. Dragon Ball Super is about to continue with the Moro saga, so hopefully the Great Ape forms will come back.
Since, Goku & Vegeta are relying on their Ultra Instinct/Super Saiyan God powers, since BROLY is still alive after the Dragon Ball Super Broly movie, Broly should regrow a Saiyan tail so he can turn into a Great Ape OR a GOLDEN Great Ape so Broly can possibly go SUPER SAIYAN 4!

nabil chowdhury Goku was the only Saiyan in the old Dragon Ball until Gohan came in at the end of Dragon Ball. Goku didn't know he was a Saiyan until Raditz came and revealed it to him in the beginning of Dragon Ball Z. The DBZ Bardock the Father of Goku took place BEFORE Dragon Ball, the story of Kid Goku and it was about Saiyans, but the DBZ Bardock the Father of GOKU special didn't mention anything about a Super Saiyan.

You guys know that Oozarus are a very powerful form of a Saiyan, because it took Goku human form four transformations to be in SSJ4 level of power while it took Oozaru Goku form one simple transformation and that is Golden Oozaru. Now just imagine how powerful Oozaru Goku would become if he combine it with either God ki or Ultra Instinct state of mind.

Back in December, i commented on a Broly video that Sayian were originally Ozaru and then became humanoid. there are also rumors that among the ozaru was a leader, hence the reason Sayians claim the leader title of king to lead them. heard that the true Ozaru king could be transformed into golden through primal rage and Broly LSSJ FORM(FULL POWER) came from that genetic.
I like it how Piccolo and Master Roshi totally forgot about tides and just casually destroy the moon especially Master Roshi because HE LIVES ON AN TINY ISLAND.

The biggest question that 0 other people will ever ask is what would happen if a Saiyan looks at the moon during the lunar eclipse? Taking consideration that the lunar eclipse is when the Earth blocks the sun casting a shadow on the moon making it blood red. Would the Saiyans turn into a weaker version of the oozaru, or would they not transform at all?
