      Nice! I don't see myself buying new cameras for a while, hopefully lol, unless they improve on the ZF in certain areas like portability, ergonomics (can't make a heavy camera w/o a grip, dumb move on their part lol), and a screen like the one Sony has that's super versatile... until then, I will enjoy this camera, I just hope they release more pancake lenses to make it really a small set up... So yeah, I'm super happy, I personally don't nit pick or compare cameras too much... a better camera is not going to help me compose better, understand lighting, be more creative etc. Looking forward to more of your images and I will do the same, enjoy man, cheers!

    I owned both the Zf and XT5 and struggled for months to decide, but ultimately chose the XT5 because of its size, screen, grip, and customizable functions. While the Zf has an appealing design, its ergonomics are poor, even with a grip, and I don't like flip-out screens. I ended up selling the Zf and am now considering either the Z6III or the Z8.

    I have a question, how's the film simulation of the Nikon ZF compare to the Fuji XT5? that's one selling point of the Fuji cameras and I know Nikon has them too. What are your thoughts when you put them head to head with the film simulation?

      @@micalangenburg1706 I prefer the Fuji's hands down. Nikon has fantastic colors though straight out of camera. And their files are easy to edit. But then again Fuji has far better film sims I use in my own recipes as well on the X-T5. But this would be a great video. 🤔

    I've kept nothing but the Voigtlander 40mm 1.2 on my ZF since getting it. Might as well sell my other nikon lenses at this point since getting it from last year. When i need other focal lengths, i just grab my olympus system or 100v with adapter lenses. But the zf for me is just perfect with the Voigtlander. Video, I don't think in my 24 years of doing digital photography have I used Video more than twice. It just makes photography more expensive and cameras and lenses bigger to try and perfect them.

    While I have both cameras and others that cover full frame ,APSC and micro 4/3 between Nikon ZF and the Fujifilm XT3 and XT5 That I have the XT5 has a better dual card slot set up, can use a wired remote and is easier to change from auto focus single to continuous with the lever on the bottom left front of the camera. Fujifilm has a variety of different f1.2 aperture lens and the lens selection for the retro design is greater with Fujifilm, the camera is also lighter and that makes it easier to use as an every day carrying camera. That being said I plan on keeping both as they are unique in their own way and different than the rest the digital cameras on the market. They are the closest to using a film camera in a digital format.

    I've got the X-T5 and have been sniffing over the fence at the Zf for the full frame. I went a TOTALLY different route. Keeping my X-T5, but grabbed an old Nikon D800 to play around with full frame a bit. It won't be a camera that sticks around in my life all that long, I don't think, but I just had to know what I'd get out of a full frame that maybe I wasn't from my APS-C.

No film sims though so if you're a Jpeg shooter I'd stick with the Fuj too. One of my first videos someone commented about how bad the audio was and I was on a mission from there. If you don’t mind manual focus then the Voigtlander Ultrons and Noktons for the Fuji system have lovely rendering on the XT5.

    • @wesleystreetshots
      @wesleystreetshots  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're the second person to recommend them. How is manual focus on Fuji cameras? Does if have a similar green box when you're in focus like Nikon? Or do you use focus peaking? I'll def look into it. Manual focus is all I can use on my film cameras so I don't mind at all!

    • @tonyharrison1
      @tonyharrison1 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@wesleystreetshots I don’t use focus peaking myself as I find it distracting. Instead I use the focus check function which zooms into the image automatically when you rotate the focus ring because the lenses have electrical contacts to allow the camera to recognise it. This can be turned off in settings if you prefer. There are also split prism and microprism options in the focus peaking settings,any can be used or turned off. All of these options can also be used with the split screen function from the Display button on the back of the camera. With this enabled there is a larger screen showing the full scene and a zoomed smaller screen to check focus. As far as the focus ring goes, it’s a genuine manual focus experience, very easy and quick. Manual focus on Fuji autofocus lenses is quite bad which is why I’ve gone the Voigtlander route. I only have two Fuji lenses now with 3 Voigtlander…very happy.

    I had the z5 on day one. Not a professional just a hobby. After years of owning I wanted that vintage style Zf so I got one. A week later, I returned it. Even with just the 50mm 1.8 z lens, it felt uncomfortable after a while. Also I didn’t like how the EVF felt compared to my Z5.
    I had sold my z5 to use money towards the Zf so not I have no camera 😅. I’ve been thinking about going APSC due to smaller form factor. Such as the Sony a6700.
    Z5 took great shots over the years but I want something smaller to carry around daily that doesn’t scream “photographer!!”. Let’s hope I am right by choosing the a6700 (I like how it has a BSI sensor).

      I say all this with a bit of a heavy heart tho: i truly believe Fuji shouldve gone Fullframe as well, focused their R&D on ONE line and get their AF together. Then add their AMAZING Videofeatures and Colour Profiles and youd be set. I would 100% be a Fuji shooter then and invested maybe 20k into them…but so? Depth of field describes the depth of acceptable sharpness at the point of focus, not how out of focus the background is. I think it really depends on what you're shooting. If you are a portrait photographer, a shallow depth of field and background separation may be what you need.
