I love my platinum 6, and I think this will be a game changer for me as I will be able to emboss with larger folders as you showed us. Hi Rebecca! Guess what I got in the mail a couple of days ago? Yep, my lunar paste! I finally was able to Order all the colors I wanted for probably ever. And talked to Simon, silver is in the plan to come out with eventually. I bought the pink, bright yellow, roar, teal, gator, blue and berry for purple. I’ll use those most so idk if I’ll get the others. Sadly it been weeks and weeks since I’ve had time to make a card but at least that was exciting!
@@RebeccaKeppel yes! Truly. There is an enormous gap left in the card making industry when it comes to silver. Everything that has a metallic shimmer or sheen, even papers, it’s always gold! Embossing powders, just a lot of products I can’t think of right now. Lol I wanted to ask you if there’s anything you can recommend or any tips or tricks you’ve learned doing pastes with stencils. This will be new for me and I’m admittedly terribly obsessive compulsive and afraid I’ll over kill on spreading. I’d appreciate any advice with regard to the thicker palette knife. I love the sponge blender idea too but if I want dimensional texture I’ll use the palette knife, right? I have the stencil pall as well. Thank you for the great channel. I enjoy it a lot!

Thank you so much Harriette! I will admit I am not usually one for feeling the need to buy everything that comes out like this, but I was truly struggling to use the 3d embossing folders that I love. I have seen a die cut machine (not the Platinum, but still!) broken by too thick of a sandwich going through. I was just hoping this would makes things easier as I definitely want to use my 3d embossing folders more without fighting my die cut machine. I feel like in this case, for me it was in fact money well spent.
Didn’t think I needed this as I have the bigger Platinum machine (with longer plates) but the thought of using it for the 3D embossing folders might make me buy them! Can use the old plates as back up.
Yes! I originally bought the bigger platinum too (for the bigger plates) but I was still so irritated that nothing seemed just right for the 3D embossing folders which I love so much. I am definitely happy with this purchase!

You'll get even better results if you wipe the front and back of your cardstock with a baby wipe before embossing. I find it gives you a much more defined impression.
I purchased the universal plate system when it came out, I’m still trying to figure out the sandwich for the 3D Tim Holtz/ Sizzix embossing folders…they seem even thicker than other 3d folders…🤔
Hmmmm I don't think I have any of those. My Memory Box folder was definitely thicker than the Spellbinders ones so I ran it with a clear plate rather than the adapter plate. Are the Tim ones even too thick for that?
Does anyone know if these work in the switch? It will I’m the big shot but I’m trying to use just the switch although haven’t needed the large platforms and plates. I still use my big shot sixes, they’re fine. I want to start trying to emboss with stencils and this does it beautifully. I saw on Cathy Zielske’s channel because she does that a lot. Spoiler alert. update- I got this when it first came out. I just got my SSS card kit with the gorgeous daisy embossing folder- could NOT get the universal system to work with it- I tried all the combos. It did work in my very old Sizzix machine on the pink tab - thank fully. Still glad I got the universal plates, but if anyone has had any luck with SSS please share. tfs.❣❣
I am so glad I bought this. It really does make the whole 3d embossing thing easier! LOL, it sounds like you're pretty prepared to be crafting down there, but I imagine last minute you're thinking...what else can I fit in that suit case!!
I love my Gemini JR, but my frustrations with getting good impressions with 3d embossing folders really started there. I felt like I had to create these crazy sandwiches with cardstock shims and I could never get it just right. So I bought myself a Spellbinders Platinum for the extra large platform size figuring it would allow me to do lots of die cutting at once. Then I bought myself the Spellbinders Glimmer. I liked both of those so much, I decided to buy myself the Spellbinders Platinum 6. So when the Universal Plate System came out I decided to buy that as well because I love 3d embossing folders so much. Honestly with the Gemnini you just have to play around with different additions and subtractions of the sandwich to get a good impression. My advice is to start out thin because if you jam it you definitely can break it. :(
