I love going to the antique shopping by myself. I think I feel rush when I am with someone else. Or that the person that I am with is getting bored so I miss a lot of things.
So cute! One thing (a few things) about bird houses (my husband builds them and we have them all over our property) is that you need to be careful when you put them outside. Birds will try to nest in them, which is adorable when you see the babies, but they leave a big mess with the nesting material and droppings and often there are insects. Also, we have found some of our favorite bigger bird houses have been inundated with squirrels. I love squirrels and if you get to see baby ones, they're so so cute, but they will chew the openings to make them bigger, chew the inside and pretty much ruin the birdhouse. Hanging your birdhouse low and on a pole made of metal or on a metal chain will help keep squirrels out (but they'll get in if they really want to) and if you take the birdhouse inside in the winter it will last longer. You will need to remove any nesting material (make sure Mama bird didn't have a late clutch of baby birds!) and clean the birdhouse with a bleach based cleaner and then let it air dry before taking it inside. Or you could just leave it indoors for decoration. I'm glad you had so much fun at the Faire! Honey, you don't need to apologies for not posting a lot! You have a new husband and a busy life.
