This film is a Masterpiece, it was made by people who really knew what they were doing.
They put all their skills and efforts into making it as good as possible, unlike the remake where they just threw money at it and hoped for the best.
Start the reacta…
Total Recall is my favorite Arnold Schwarzenegger movie of all. It has everything
I watch this film on a friday or saturday night, it makes the weekend for me. Deffo one of my all time favorite films.
Everyone ivolved in this film was a professional.
@@andyhelliwell4955 I also appreciate that Paul Verhoeven didn’t jump on the Outland exploding heads and bodies and went with the more realistic approach to decompression.
@@Filthy_Larry Paul put lots of blood in his films.
@@andyhelliwell4955 I know that’s why I still glad he went the realistic approach with the Mars scenes.
My 1st remember of this movie? The crazy beauty of Sharon Stone
Total Recall is a classic.
Michael Ironside was one of my favourite actors in the 80s 😊
He's also Sam Fisher in Splinter Cell.
Childhood memories...still miss 90s
Still remember hiring this great movie on video from the local video store in early 90s!
The editing of Arnold imitating the director and then cutting to Paul seeing he's not exaggerating lol
This movie is the masterpiece of the century.
Love this film. Fantastic movie.
I agree that Sharon Stone could play a female terminator given how viscous her character Lori was in Total Recall when hurting Quaid and later, Melina.
Sharon’s look as Lori had to be the basis for Mortal Kombats Sonya
The score in this movie was just excellent
Just before T2 Total Recall was the biggest movie 🍿 Arnold had made at that time. Released in 1990 it was actually the last Hollywood blockbuster to use practical effects. This movie had been a long time in the making going back to the early 1980's when the project was with Dino DeLaurentis. Back when Arnold was doing the Conan movies for Dino he had expressed an interest in doing it but Dino wouldn't let him do it. Only when Dino went bankrupt Arnold was able to get Mario Kassar at Carolco to buy the script and get the movie made with them, making it one of the biggest movies made at an independent studio and the rest is history.👍😊
"last Hollywood blockbuster to use practical effects"
Not even close dumbass, not even close.
@@DeadManWalking-ym1oo 1993 Alien 3 used optical compositing
1994 The Fugitive used optical compositing for the train jump shot
1994 Clear and Present Danger used optical compositing for the missile being fired
1995 Die Hard 3 used optical compositing for the the truck in the water pipe shot
We also have wikipedia, shut up.😊
A great director is a mentor, a coach, a leader and most importantly a person that an actor can trust 100% !
hands down the best effects both man made and cgi lightly used was Terminator 2 it still holds up as flawless today and it helped that Arnold did most of his own stunts so they did not have to mash or fade him out of the scene with a stunt double.
Awesone stuff! Total Recall is my favorite Verhoeven film
The great thing about this movie is the greatest cast ever too and even the score is fantastic too
Great movie one of the best action/sf from 90's
Total Recall was the first 18 rated film I watched in the cinema when I’d have been about 15-16. Only one of my friends was also allowed in at the time thus angering a whole bunch of friends who I’d regularly taunt for several months afterwards. Interestingly Robocop was the first 18 film I watched on VHS several years earlier thus Verhoeven was totally responsible for popping my 18 rated cinematic cherry. The fact that I’ve rebought both films on Blu-ray in the last year and still adore them to this day is concrete proof of the undying legacy of both of these sci fi masterpieces. Still doesn’t take the sting out of the fact I fell asleep watching Showgirls round a friends house many years later and, as a result, totally missed snagging a date with this girl I fancied and almost certainly “giving her a right seeing to” …
… so, maximum kudos to Mr Verhoeven but fuck you for Showgirls!
Sometimes I think things happen in a certain way for whatever reason etc
What a movie 💯
Love this movie!
My childhood favorite movie 😀❤️👍
Mine too
GREAT movie....!
Fantastic movie.
15:04 one of the keys to this movies greatness
Ty !
That soundtrack!....
I love violence in movies, if goodness ultimately prevails.... Christ thank you for Mr. Goldsmith and the track The Mutant. Wonderful movie.
6:37 - :53 Fascinating. 8:10 - :12 Nice touch. 🤣
Cult movie? Its a mega blockbuster.
Sharon Stone at her finest!
I wonder what would have happened if Paul directed Terminator 1 & 2 or James directed Total Recall.
Or Verhoeven and Cameron could collaborate for a "Robocop vs the Terminator" movie.
Classic
16:52 The dog was going 1 poop :D
Sharon Stone was so beautiful back then (still is but not like before of course)/
God bless.
This film and 2001 A Space Odyssey showed the realist effects of decompression.
You somehow managed to mention the most boring movie ever made to the most greatest movie to ever be made
@@David.L291 I liked 2001 🤣. You should try watching that and total recall on lsd.
Y LOVED THIS MOVIE
Total recall was a big surprise world wide And not just the united state
it worked
This movie is deeper than just RED WORLD GET AIR.
Predator, Total Recall and Terminator Judgment day made Hollywood proud.
@8:11......😂😂😂😂
amazing movie. Arnold at his best here. the music was also mind blowing
Paul Verhoeven vs James Cameron
Paul Verhoeven RoboCop, basic instinct, hollow man, total recall
It had Inception for a subplot lol
So sharon stone made basic instinct after this flim.
i miss movies like this. in 2022 they can only make crap movies, like that one where nicolas cage is nicolas cage. so disappointing
Cage acting
Whats clasic action y emotion 😏🤔
"In front of a billion people". Eric the ego!
Metro chabacano ♥️
No doubt the stand out of the two makes
começaram as gravações do o vingador de futuro na cidade de México em abril de 1989 em maio de 1989

legal
What engine is Johnny Cab?
Virtual reality
So basically as always Hollywood people pay more or less NOTHING for the guys story..they know and mentioned in the video it was not that known till blade runner and make a massive hit movie. This still happens now, they pay hardly anything to the talent who write the main story and ideas then profit from it
He was young
1990 before T2 was not yet written
Can we get to Mars can Arnold Schwarzenegger get the movie better total recall can me to next position
They keep saying for the time the budget was pretty big and expensive when really it was not, $50-60 million was its production budget lol the first superman cost $55 million
It was the biggest budget ever for a Arnie movie at the time. It was still big and expensive. And it was closer to 70 millions $.
Here I'm talking to myself & you got a wet towel wrapped around your head 🤔
86 in Karlsruhe Germany I explained Arnold Schwarzenegger 10 movies from Predator to Eraser
I was 17 years Old
Miley Cyrus is my Daughter
Is mark Zuckerberg looking at virtual reality
Does Doug have total recall
I Love Arnie. I love Total Recall (1990)...but...The 2012-Reboot is actually brilliant too. It is not actually the Reboot. It handles the Topic completely differently with a different Scope. It is something original. But may be with that Title, the Public was expecting the same Treatment again. That's why People were disappointed. The only Fault of the Movie-Makers was that they named it 'Total Recall' again. May be they should have named it something original. I love both of the Films.
Final version is full of bloopers...continuity is a joke.
Everything you hear about Deno (sorry dunno the spelling) is mostly negative. Seems like the guy was a dinosaur and not pleasant to work with. Glad he's a relic of the past.
There's always one
RESUMEN: TODOS SON RACISTAS, ELITISTAS Y SOLO GRABARON EN MÉXICO PORQUE FUE MAS BARATO Y les gusto mucho hacer la película........................
I watched TR only because Sharon Stone was in the cast but once she was out, I could not watch the movie. A Total Rubbish.
so you don't have any taste?
This is classic!!
the 90s were just a different era man
Like the 80's too
