Hey guys! Thanks to location expert Marv, we've found Farland Enterprises, and you'll never believe it - it's the SAME building used as the County Museum in "Chariot of Gold"! The filming location for this episode is around the left side. Check it out! 20525 Nordhoff Street #39, Chatsworth, CA 91311. It's also where Michael sabotages the power. Thanks Marv!
doors 66, 68 and 69 can be seen at 9014 Mason ave on google earth. only the 8 remains and door 69 is missing the numbers entirely. The building looks like it is still used for location filming, as there is a crew set up in the front glass.
@6:35 that is Albuquerque - the bridge in the lower left is Odelia rd where it crosses I-25. The camera is looking South West. The area has been built up considerably in the last 40 years. But there are a couple of key markers - one being the Lovelace medical center at the far left of the frame - another being the post office on Broadway, - the large single story building right of center.
Beat me to it. Yes. Also Park Plaza Condominiums (the light coloured block to the top right of the scene) is also still quite recognisable when comparing the KR scene shot and google street view/earth.
The building that Karr Turbo boosted out off in Trust Doesn't Rust is actually owned by the city harbour commissioners I seen a video of it getting remedidial work done on it while I watched it.
For instances like the Harbor view House or ports of call in street view, where it was either torn down or renovated. You can view older images with Google street view by choosing "See more dates" in the top left of the screen and then choose an older image. That way you can see what it looked like before the scaffolding was put up.
Great video! I've wondered about that piece of lake for over 40 years! I have watched the show since the very beginning, and I have the complete series on DVD. That lake has always remained a mystery to me. Until now. Thanks for the video and the incredible amount of research that you have undertaken in order to make and produce these amazing videos. Keep up the good work! Thank you!
Another great video. It must be fun and a lot of work tracking down all these obscure locations. I'm not sure if this fits in with your channel, but in the world of video games, Microsoft has released Universal Studios downloadable content for Forza Horizon 5. This includes KITT, the Back to the Future Cars and a Jurassic Park 4WD. The recreation of KITT seems very faithful to Knight Rider and includes a detailed interior and the scanner bar. Sadly it doesn't come with any Knight Rider storylines, KITT's voice or any human characters but it's just fun to drive around Mexico in KITT. If you search for Forza Universal DLC, you'll get the trailer.
42:00 This shot is located at the Junction of Terminal Way and Ferry Street. In the shot shown at 41:08, there are four windows on the left of the shot that give it away. These Windows feature on the South side of the Terminal Island Water Reclamation Plant building. (UK-based subscriber 🤣)
As a kid, I visited Ports o' Call in San Pedro several times; it was a faux-"whaling village", with lots of little shops and some restaurants. Anchors, bollards, and other maritime clutter abounded.
The scene at 23:56 can clearly be seen on Google Street view. It is listed as 100 W 10th Street and you have to look at an old view. It can be seen from 2020 and before. The fire escape, wall, and windows all match!
Indeed. It was pretty easy to find that way. Does Joe not know this function? 🤔 Joe, if you read this, click on 'See more dates' on the right of the date you see in the top left rectangle which lists the adress when in street view. 😀
The window shown at 22:16 is in fact the southeast window of the Harbor View House in San Pedro. In Google earth you can zoom in and see it. But street view has it blocked.
Very interesting video Joe.I always wondered where that road was when KITT swings right then left with the mountains in the background.. Looking forward to your next video. Best Wishes Brian
Very cool locations 👍 The thought of Chariot of Gold museum occurred to me from that building with glass wall, and from the comments below, seems that is indeed the place. Somehow the building also brings KITT's dash in mind, the sloping part would be the voicebox, and the glass walls KITT's readout panels :D Maybe it's just my weird imagination :P
42:30 and 20:30 these things look all so similiar, it must be some kind of working plant/factory/oil or gas thing or even the fishing thing in that area.
8:15 is 10538 Magnolia Blvd, North Hollywood, 14:30 is a location that was already featured in the episode where Bonny was sort of hypnotized to get KITT to attack Michael. I don´t know the name right now. It´s 20525 Nordhoff Street, Chatsworth (side of the building). And I also checked the online white pages as I discovered this location 2 years ago : 20525 was also used by Marantz in the 80´s. Therefore the shots of the electronics must be from inside the building. 24:46 is in front of the brick wall of 2221 Signal Street in San Pedro. It´s still there today.
Wow, that Nordhoff Street building is quite a fascinating piece of architecture! I can imagine a location scout would have said "I may not know what I'm using this for but I know I'm using it for something" as soon as they saw it. Also, in the 16:11 shot where he asks "what else do we see", we can just see the quarter-circle curve where the roof over the side entrance curves down, which is a very distinctive feature of the building. It's one of those things where if you don't know to look for it you miss it, but once you know, it stands out as a thing that could have been a very strong clue.
In regards to where Micheal is boosted out of Kitt to climb up the fire escape, i can confirm it is at the back of Harbor View House. If set the date on google street view to march 2019 you can see the windows in question and the fire escape.
To the Knight Rider Historians: I've heard you have mentioned The Vincent Thomas Bridge was featured on this episode. That bridge was also featured on the 2000 remake of Gone in 60 Seconds that starred Nicholas Cage, where his character made that jump to get away from the police with his 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang named "Eleanor". Sadly, this is the same bridge where Top Gun's Director, Anthony Scott, took his own life from. And just like this episode where they had paid tribute to RA Cinader, the same with Top Gun: Maverick for Tony Scott.
Hey Joe, I'm not sure you could get much closer on the Ferry St at 42:00, the bridge angle looks identical. It may have been down the street at Eldridge St also a little closer to the bridge.
@KnightriderHistoriansOfficial Hi guys happy new year to you both, finally joined and wanted to say a massive thank you both for all the years of amazing facts, videos, discoveries and stand alone content that no one else would be able to find, and just shear hard work and dedication to us fans, please keep doing what your doing guys. Actually I have a question if any one would know, it would be you guys, I know you have just discovered masters of some of the episodes from don peakes garage, which is gold, thanks for sharing your reactions, that was amazing content, but I want to ask, do you think you ll be able to aquire footage of the stunts that jack Gill did of the cars doing the turbo boosts I'm interested to see what the cars looked like when they landed after the jumps, I've seen some of them spliced into the bloopers but I would love to see a video dedicated to the jumps and landings and preparations to the jumps original footage would be knight rider gold to us fans especially myself. Is this something you guys could look in to?
Dude you do a perfect job finding the street where Lincon crossed was 10, have you ever made a video of the halloween episode I think it's 5 episode of season 3 I think it's one of the best
@@BrianKitching-wv5nh Season 1 is my favourite too. Really like the dynamic between Michael and KITT, snitching on Michael to Devin and Bonnie, KITT scolding Micheal with his intelligence, KITT not understanding what a vacation is, Michael and Bonnie’s will they, won’t they dynamic, and the whole concept of a guy and his house riding into a new town where trouble seems to happen. Season 4 has to be the worst for me, still to this day I haven’t watched the entire season

The real reason I watch these videos is that I want to feel the nostalgia of being in the 80s, and I want to relive part of it
Yes. I do too!!!!

How coincidental

From a reddit post it seems it's stock footage from an 1976 episode of McCloud
Beat me to it. Yes. Also Park Plaza Condominiums (the light coloured block to the top right of the scene) is also still quite recognisable when comparing the KR scene shot and google street view/earth.

The building that Karr Turbo boosted out off in Trust Doesn't Rust is actually owned by the city harbour commissioners I seen a video of it getting remedidial work done on it while I watched it.
The driveway that Kitt was parked up on 2 timber planks also was viewed if I find the video I'll be sure to let you know. Ireland 🇮🇪 🇮🇪

These location videos are just great. Thanks for doing them.
Oh, wow! A piece of proper searching and re-searching here! Great locationing work and with a nice Marv´s help.

32:47 There's gonna be all kinds of people ripping out all the shrubs in front of that building now! lol
Look closely at 21:41 . There appears to be scaffolding/fire escape on the right side of the building behind that fabric.

Great show Great memories thanks
At about 37-40 min into this video, the terminal location with the railroad crossing was also the final scene from The Fast and Furious Doms flip

34:18 He turned left from Bellevue Ave... to Tulrosa Ave... before doing the terrible Turbo Boost jump...
'I know we should have taken that left turn at Albuquerque '
My Uncle used to see Kitt race by when he was on his way to work when it was filmed.
In google maps you can see that covered building uncovered just choose an older date, and yes, it is the same.
20:38 Kitt's pods are missing.
You can change the dates on Street View! Sometimes it can go back as far as 2009 👍
Hey Joe, I'm not sure you could get much closer on the Ferry St at 42:00, the bridge angle looks identical. It may have been down the street at Eldridge St also a little closer to the bridge.
I'm pretty sure that is Albuquerque above highway 25. It has grown a lot.
Happy Friday!!!🎉
32:03 that's a heck of a TV antenna. Must be a ham.
21:02 The Marantz PM225 Amplifiers (or empty boxes) are from 1982
That is true it is Albuquerque new mexico
FYI you can see older times on Street views it can go back to 2007

The actor who plyed the bad guy in this episode. Was that the actor who played Toxic John in the episode Junkyard Dog?
18:57 the 917 harbor blvd address you haver put in has historical views back to 2012 that shows' not much has changed there in quite a while
Hell yeah, my final verdict is "pure gold". Without the watching, because I know that you are an true experts ❤

Season 1

S3 had the most engaging episodes for me.
winter: the desert dusts are less and so my sensors don’t get clogged before a major turbo boost
S3 here
Seems like the next thing that will need to be hunted down is that “Knight Rider Heli” what’d you say.
Let's Ride Michael...
At 6min 40 seconds i think its the high desert Victorville hesperia apple valley
I always wondered where that lake was.
That building in Houston is it right next to the build were they hold traffic court

We found the site of kitt s most disastrous turbo boost ! Knight
Albuquerque (6:22)
As a Californian it’s pronounced San Peeedro with “e” not “a” sound 😅
And San Pedro absolutely gets crazy hilly
29:00 - first car in view: "330 KID" - conicidence?
15:45 69 dude!
