I love watching your tutorials, they're simple but well explained making it easy to follow. its such a gorgeous dress!!! i think it'd look gorgeous in a satin fabric for a more dressed-up look!
Absolutely love this dress! I would however like to warn anyone with a curvier body: the measurements don’t work if you have a larger bust. For me I ended up with way too much fabric around my waist and armpits! I’ll alter the pattern I already have, but I’d recommend checking out a different video if you haven’t started yet and are curvy. 😊
Hi! Sorry im new to sewing but id like to know what changes to make because normally im a size S but I have a bigger bust and don’t want to face this issue when beginning the sewing process
@@zoeriveroszamora2946 I tried altering it, but it still turned out a little wonky. I’d honestly recommend just using a pattern like Coraline Street’s pattern, or look up a different slip dress video like The Essential Club’s one!
I made this dress and it is the best piece of clothing i've ever made! Thank you so much Jess for your tutorials and your instructions on pattern making :) it's amazing, I will definitely continue to follow your tutorials
Your channel is absolutely amazing!!! Love that you show us how to create the patterns as well in such a clear way. And your style is exactly what I was looking for👌- feminine and just so chic. Can’t wait to try to sew some of your dresses!!!❤️
Very nice technique, and a lovely finished product. I love that you clean lined the dress so that it is just as neat on the inside as it is on the outside.
I really like your channel because we can draw the pattern on our self, and you make the videos very easy and clear to follow. So grateful for you. 🥰, keep going 🙏😘❤️
I made it and I love it!!! It fits perfectly. My measurements are the same as hers so I didn't change anything. I would probably add some coverage to the chest area but other than that it's amazing❤
I really like sewing, but I donot have sewing machine. Today I was feeling hectic and want to take a break from my work. So I decided to draw the pattern on a paper according to my size following this video and I think it came out really good!! I am planning to buy a sewing machine in few months and want to sew this!
I tried it! It was my first attempt on making a dress but although it turned out better than i did expect, unfortunately it runs huge on me and i have to make some alterations :( Thank you for the beautiful pattern and the very helpful video!
You are amazing , i tryed and it went well, except i have taken wrong measurements , but i adujest it later ... thank you so much and wishing you best of luck❤️🔥
Love the video! But I didn’t understand the measurement “the length between the end of the neck and the length of the top bodice”, I’m kinda stuck there 😞 could someone elaborate?
Porfavor podrías ayudarme la medida 1/4 de debajo del busto + 2 es correcta o entendí mal es tomada en la cintura? Minuto 4:29 , porfavor quítame esa duda , muchas gracias
Hi Jess, the chiffon material used you mentioned is 36,45 or 70inches width? I just love this dress and want to make it. Do you think it will drape well in cotton?
You're always amazing! ❤️ But it will be very very useful if you also add the information for the setting of your sewing machine. It will help the beginner soo much 🥰 Thanks Jes!
Thank you for your suggestion! Usually my setting is very basic. That's why I didn't put it on, except for some special stitching. But I'll try to do it in my upcoming videos
JESS, CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT KIND OF FABRIC ARE YOU USEING FOR THIS MIDI SLIP DRESS AND SOME STEP YOU DID SO QUICK, IT'S HARD TO FOLLOW, I WISH YOU CAN DO MORE THIS KIND OF DRESS WITHOUT THE RUSS. THANK YOU WHAT YOU DO
Hello! I was trying to draw the pattern for this but got stumped at the part of the bust size.. what if the 1/4 bust size + 1 is more than the first depth of the dress neckline?
Yes, you can. At the step where you mark the position for the end of the front neck, you just need to make that mark higher than the bust line. It will make the neck less deep
Una duda en el minuto 4:29 dices 1/4 debajo de busto + 2 cm, pero nos muestras tomandome la medida de la cintura, pregunta que medida es debajo de busto o cintura? Gracias
Hi Jess, I love the dress that you are wearing at the beginning (0:06) of the video. The white one with the square neckline and puffy sleeves. Do you have a free pattern and a tutorial for this one?
I don't care much about the paper for pattern making. As long as it's the straight paper, it's all good. Sometimes I use old newspaper or magazine to make patterns and to save paper
At the end, at 12:54, do you mean that you need to make under stiching seam on the neckline too? And if you do, do you seam just the front neckline? Or front and back)
I'm thinking of making this dress but with the sleeves from your wedding photoshoot dress tutorial, do you think that would work out? I love your tutorials btw :)))
@@JessDangDIY thank you! When the other “recommended videos to watch “ come on at the end they get in the way😁 I love to see it finished so I can decide if I should try it. I’ve learned so much from your videos 💞

I recently made the hug hoodie from madeit patterns and it was super easy to follow :) (I am not affiliated with them, I just really like the pattern and, as I don't think Jess will make a hoodie anytime soon, thought you might like it too :))
Yes, it's okay. But I would go with soft linen instead of the hard one. Because this dress need to have the fall down feeling of the fabric to create the feminie look

Sorry I'm so new at this, may I ask, am I supposed to cut this on the bias? Also, why do we need to add 2 cm on the bottom back panel ? Thank you so much everyone!!
Usually Small or Medium is quite the same amount of fabric. Bigger sizes will need just a bit more of fabric (around 0.5m is enough). But it also depends on the width of the fabric as well
i love how it can go from casual to elegant, just based color and fabric, and the pattern making part is just so easy to follow

Hi Jess, can you help clarify what is the “14cm from the end of neck to the end of the top bodice”? I am stuck there. Thanks a bunch !!😙
I’m sitting here trying to figure that out too 😂 been going through it in my mind for an hour what that could mean!
ah, it's the length at the top part of the dress when you make the pattern. It's the gap between the length of the top part - the length of the neck
