    Refreshing to see a family that still sticks together and helps each other out. Really rare in this messed up country these days.

    A thousand times thank you for not slapping on 22s and rubber band tires. Bring back period correct customs!

      Period correct is cool but loosing that custom feel, but 22’s don’t belong on classic cars

    I wish they would extend these episodes to a couple of hours each instead of rushing through them. I could watch all the details of the fabrication all day.

      I agree, although I am a fabricator, mostly on motorcycles though, I like to see how other fabricators do it, this very little in fabrication that there isn't multiple ways to do something.

      That's what I'm in the process of doing. I am moving to Arizona next month and I was looking for a couple acres of land to build a tiny house on and live off the grid and off the land, I ended up finding a 12 acre lot and my parents and I went halvies on it and were building 2 tiny houses off the grid.

      This is something that YOU should look up. This car ran and won against V-8 Fords and Chevys. But the biggest thing was the engine that it used to beat them. Which is a Hemi Six.

  • @daos3300

    all cars are built of several layers of overlapping sections, especially modern cars. they sure do make them like that still. just better, safer and more efficiently.

    • @TheREALOC1972
      @TheREALOC1972 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I disagree, They certainly aren't better, Todays cars are "throw aways" after they hit 250k, They aren;t safer because they are mostly plastic and effecient is how you look at it. I can take any pre 1985 car and my buddy and I can pull the engine and transmission and rebuild them both over a long weekend in my drive way while enjoying a case of adult beverages. Todays cars take a team of engineers and 10 days of taking half the car apart just to change the oil. I have a 77 buick sky lark as a daily driver and it has almost 400k on the engine and transmission without a rebuild, Your not doing that with ANY car today.

    • @daos3300
      @daos3300 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheREALOC1972 you may disagree but all the facts & stats say new cars are better in every way, with the exception of DIY accessibility. then again, they aren't built for DIYers so it's not an issue. and no car in the 50s - 90s was built to last more than 250k miles. any car with decent maintenance & servicing will last as long as you want it to. and if you have the knowledge and tools you can play with modern cars too.

    • @TheREALOC1972
      @TheREALOC1972 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@daos3300 That's why junkyards are FULL of 1990 and newer cars, right? That's why manufactors recommend having a complete engine and transmission rebuild at 125k instead of the 250k and the engine and transmission replaced at 250K instead of "until and if needed" like it was pre 1990's right? I tell you what..... Let me put a brand new frame under the 67 Chrysler New Yorker I have sitting behind the barn and you can have ANY brand new plastic built car today and lets meet head one at 35 mph and see who walks away...... Your going to be in 1700 of plastic and really thin sheet metal while i'm going to be in 3500 lbs of solid STEEL, Sorry bro but GTFOH with that. Todays cars are bullshit 250k throwaways made with mostly plastic.

    The owner is right, it already looks chopped, it doesn’t need chopping.

    • @TheREALOC1972
      @TheREALOC1972 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's because they naturally chopped from the factory. a 51 Chevy's roof was 36" high from the bottom of the windshield to roof peak, a 51 Fords roof was 37" high, and 51 Hornet Hudson's roof was 33" high. It came stock 3" lower than the Chevy and 4" lower than Ford so it "looked chopped" from the factory.

      The 51 Hudson was already "chopped" from the factory, they were 3" lower than the 51 Chevy and 4" lower than the 51 Ford. I just bought a 55 Desoto and i'm going to build it into a restomod, first because there's NO WAY i'll ever be able to find the parts to build it back stock, especially the side trim, those got robbed by thousands in the 70's to put on to lead sleds becuase they were more streamlined than other manfacturors. I'm not going to chop it because from the research I've done the only other car that had a lower roofline from the factory was the Buicks and Oldsmobile which was the same height as the Desoto.

    No disrespect but I’ve never understood the need to “customise” vintage and classic cars. ESPECIALLY the ‘48 to ‘54 Stepdown Hudson. Why?? Surely they are beautiful enough in their original state. To me “customising” (hot rodding?) such beautiful Americana icons is like painting false eyelashes and bright red lipstick on the Mona Lisa. Shame.
