      Hey Rebecca I am nigerian and i actually eat jollof rice and egusi sometimes. It goes great with just boiled rice also and plantains

    I'm nigerian and I grew u eating jollof rice with every stew my mom made. I can eat jollof on its own, but I prefer eating it with a soup or stew, especially if the rice is really dry. Good jollof can be eaten on its own though (plaintain is always welcome obviously 😁)

    I actually jollof rice with efo and egusi and red stew, and grew up like that. I actually don’t really like jollof on its own. Mixing it with a stew or soup, takes it to another level. I did grow up in the states but I know a lot of Nigerians who do the same.

      same here lol. I was shocked when she said it's not common to eat with jollof, I grew up where we eat jolloff, efo, egusi or red stew with jollof.

    I don’t like jollof on it’s own. I eat with coleslaw or efo, egusi, fried stew etc
    But I’m known to mix everything anyways. Try spag and egusi (without the leaves and stew consistency) 👌🏽👌🏽

    So yeah, I tried it a few times you know..left over combinations from parties...but having the egusi with white rice....is a regular...I really love the way Micheal finished it..meanwhile...you sudda made pounded yam (not poundo) for the egusi

    This was a nice video to watch, very very nice. Your guests are amazing. How ever we mix things up in Nigerian I've done jollof rice and egusi countless times. And so have many other people out here. It's really not rare it's just not served that way in restaurants except in custom orders
