I love your travel log! Rocheport sits between New Franklin & Jeff City and has many bike specific amenities. For those who want a day trip the route from Columbia to Rocheport and back is really nice. Dotties in Hartsburg is also a great place to take a break. The Jefferson City bridge isn't just about heights. It's got a separated bike path but the cars are speeding by one direction, the river way below is going another direction and then you on your bike are going another direction/speed over a weird road bed that causes a kind of up and down feel. I lived in Jeff and found that bridge to be quite disorienting almost every time I rode on it. Once again Thanks for the great travel log! I'll have to subscribe.

Surprised you didn’t mention Rocheport; beautiful area. The Katy Trail is a State Park so some of the amenities are off trail & some seasonal, April to November. I’m riding it with my sister to celebrate our birthdays. She turns 60 the year I turn 65! I live in SW Missouri along Table Rock Lake. It’s hilly here.
Well done. I've never ridden the Katy Trail, but it sounds similar to what you should expect on the GAP Trail. It's a hard pack surface and smooth to ride with beautiful views along the rivers. Well shaded and there are, what I think, plenty of places to stop and eat and stock up for the ride. There's a great place to stop for either lunch of dinner in Ohio Pyle. I can't think of the name of it (might be Falls Market), but after you cross the bridge, go down into the little town and it's right there. You can't miss it. If it's wet, the C&O trail will most likely be muddy. Just be prepared. Enjoy!
I ride from the Busch Greenway parking lot to Klondike park every now & then. It’s a beautiful park for sure with many amenities. I’ll usually sit in the water on the white sand beach of the lake to cool off in July. I just rode there today! Great video & the parts you really enjoyed are the parts I usually ride. St. Charles to Klondike park.
Mark, you've stirred up a long dormant plan for the Fogbee Turtles to ride the KATY sometime in 2024. Looks like you need cycle only a couple of miles north on OH-125 to get to the Little Miami Trail, the start of the Ohio to Erie trail. You are going to love Ohio.

I've never met a trail I didn't like. Hearmann MO. Is a great little town to stop and spend a day or two and taste a sip or two of the local Norton grape wine. A native grape that I really enjoy. As with all trails if you want to really see a trail you have to ride it both ways. Start and end at the same place.
