Recruiting Seymour from Farplane Cup | Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster

Seymour will start appearing as an opponent in the Farplane Cup after the first time you win a tournament. I highly recommend getting him exactly after getting the first win because at that moment, you won't have to roll the dice and hope that you do not encounter Major Numerus. Furthermore, the variables can be controlled easier because he is the only recruitable humanoid you will encounter. If you miss him, he still will appear again after winning the 4th tournament, but at the cost of including Major Numerus sometimes. At least at this point, you shouldn't have any more problems dealing with Trema and Paragon.
Moreover, only proceed with the tournament when Seymour doesn't have to go against strong opponents such Trema as chances are, he might be pushed off. Check the bracket first, and if Seymour is pitted against you on round 1 or potentially round 2, proceed. If you think he might lose, better escape and re-enter the Cup again.
