    Arguably the finest writer in the English language from the past century. Midnight's Children may be his masterpiece but I've never picked up a Rushdie book without being spellbound by the language and made to examine my world view just a little. Nothing short of genius.

    I remember when my cousin took me to see Salman Rushdie 8 years ago when he was discussing his latest book. I was 10 years old. And ever since then, he has remained one of my favourite authors. He is the real life Rashid Khalifa! :D

    I invite you to educate yourself on the writings of Karl Marx. Marx once described religion as "the sigh of the oppressed creature". He diagnosed it as something that exists only because people lack a better alternative.
    Today, we have these better alternatives: Science, solidarity & social security.
    In Scandinavia, where these concepts are well-established, there are the highest numbers of atheists in the world. This proves Marx was correct. Religion isn't actually necessary for anything.

    The term camera comes from the word camera obscura (Latin for "dark chamber"), an early mechanism for projecting images. The modern camera evolved from the camera obscura.The first permanent photograph of a camera image was made in 1826 by Joseph Nicéphore Niépce using a sliding wooden box camera made by Charles and Vincent Chevalier in Paris.

    Salman did not need the Satanic Verses to generate him funds, as a writer he was already well known. He lost 10 years of his life fearing for himself, his family, his friends and all the people who became targeted throughout the event. The Satanic Verses highlighted a vital worldwide problem as well as being a fascinating fictional book. Critics of have generally never read the book, much like the stupidity that arose around the Da Vinci code. Salman has at least knows what he is writing about.

    It would be incredibly similar to this one. Poverty and riches, peace and war, civilization and destruction. People like you imagine that religion is the source of all conflict, that the belief in a god is what drives people to fight. That in and of itself is an excuse. Religion is just a theory, one not unlike your own. As for the afore mentioned conflict, there would still be in insatiable bloodlust that humans feel. They would merely find a different reason to kill each other.

  • @crosbying

    @songketbiru No it wouldnt, free speech protects your right to express your words, even if it offends someone. In the case of Salman Rusdie he was issued a fatwa for death on the writing of a fictional piece, this cannot be tolerated or accepted. Peoples hurt feelings through utterings can never justify murder. It is not rushdie or free expression that needs to bow down to these things, its them who have to accept living in a world where you sometimes here things you dont like

  • @GluttonForSex

    The problem there is that no viable alternatives to a currency-based system have ever been proposed. Religion, on the other hand, was once described by Karl Marx as "the heart of the heartless world, the sigh of the oppressed creature". He diagnosed religion as something that exists only because people lack a better alternative.
    Today, we have that superior alternative Marx spoke of: Solidarity, social security and equality before the law. Religion is unnecessary and unwanted in today's age.

    here's a better one, imagine a world without money. most wars are ultimately because of money and NOT religion. im not religious btw.

  • @islamsarwer3961
    @islamsarwer3961 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    does not matter to u if som1 writes a book abusing u n ur family?u should tolerate it under the label of freedom of expressions.for us killing som1 feelings is like killing som1.so v respect others feeling n expect the same.actually you were brought up this way u r told to misbehave with ur elders if they stop u from insulting them bcz no matter watever ur age is u r more educated than them .when u dont hav respect for ur own elders its hard that u may exhibit it for other religions or feelings.

    They are holding a nervous choke-hold on people, free flow of information is their best bet of breaking free of theocracy.

  • @drmo92
    @drmo92 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    And thats not a problem, let religion stay alive for all eternity. Sure there will be problems and conflicts that will come with it, but this does not change the fact that by FAR most conflicts ultimately are because of money. This is the real problem in the world. And im not suggesting that we replace currency or anything. The ultimate solution is that we on a global scale get rid of corruption, imperialism and nationalism. These are the roots of all our problem, religion is just a branch.

    Look,
    Ibn Al-Haytham was not the first person to observe the principles of a camera. There were many long before. The chinese philosopher Mo Ti was the first person to note this. Aristotle also has also mentioned about this principle in the fourth century B.C.
    Anyways it doesn't matter because the invention of the camera does not have to do anything with religion. Religion is not what motivates people towards scientific inventions.

    @geezerbill ,''PEACE'' is not an outward concept, It starts in the heart. There can be no peace as long as the human heart is as filthy.Jesus said; Mr 7:19 "because it does not enter his heart but his stomach, and is eliminated, thus purifying all foods?"What comes out of a man defiles him. "For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,"thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness

  • @Owlpunk
    @Owlpunk 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sorry, but "camera" comes from the ancienet greek "kamara", meaning vault.
    That being said: What has etymology to do with the actual scientific advances? Shouldn't Islam, by your logic, be blamed for all the world's drunkenness - after all, "Alcohol" is an arabic word? Or how about diabetes (sukkar!)?
    Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to put down the advances brought about by the Islamic Golden Age. But crediting something to Islam just because its' origin is islamic, is slightly dishonest.

    alright lets hav one standard.if som1 is confirmed that he did blasphemy against any religion he sholud be severly punished by his own community in sch a way that other members must nt repeat the offence.islam directs us to respect all religions we hav nt drawn any cartoon of any religious personality no book ws written against any religion by any muslim scholar.WE DEMAND A UN RESOLUTION AGAINST BLASPHEMY TO make blasphemy of all religions international crime.wl u tolerate it?

    nw u supportd my point.ur men hav no responsibility for their families.they dnt marry their gf although they use her in all ways,when she becomes a mother u dump her out of house bcz u r nt ready for a family,u dnt marry them bcz in that way they wl hav legal claims,mother of 3 babies has to work late nights to feed hr illegal children while their fathers r living freely.children r then given 2 foster parents when mom becoms tired n these illegal beings live all their life wondering who they r?

    @3822218 what has without a doubt mostly improved and influenced science, knowledge and understanding is the rise of secularism, skepticism and the attitude that religions and deities sre irrelevant. All religions is in its core unscientifical and are promoting ignorance. the eason for the arabic golden age was not Islam, it was the rise of secularism and skepticism in the arabic world. it was the most secular place on earth at the time and the quran was not interpreted literally

  • @Arg0n01
    @Arg0n01 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    You have a double standard, other people's feelings don't matter to you, yours on the other hand are sacred. A lot of things that are taught by Islam insult other people to the extreme, yet Muslims don't stop doing it. In fact even suggesting something like that is labeled as repression, hate speech or Islamophobia. On the other hand insulting Islam (not hard BTW) is met with death threats and rioting, and demanding people's deaths. One standard will do just fine, so pick one and don't complain.

  • @Porkusido
    @Porkusido 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    @3822218 well, that depends on your definition of applying Islam. during the Arabic golden age, the islamic Religion was more secularised than it has ever been, they even had banks. a literal understanding of the quran would not allow that. injustice happen in all religions, Mohammed was a brutal warlord that had many wives, one of whom were a child

    You are already guilty of both heresy and blasphemy against Christians and vice versa. You claim the figure of Jesus Christ is a prophet of God, they claim that he is the SON of God. Both offenses are considered blasphemous to the extreme, so if a UN resolution against blasphemy passes Christians could demand all Muslims be punished and vice versa. Blasphemy is victim-less, if you get your feelings hurt you can try at a civil lawsuit. Otherwise you get a resolution for religious war.

    I assure you what i'm about to say is true. Hell's a real place of burning torment. I'd also like to say heaven's equally real & can be your home for eternity. The writer has yielded to the leading of the Lord Jesus Christ of faithfully recorded things which He has shown. For best results read with your Bible & balance what is written here with the Holy Scriptures. May God use this testimony for His glory."(looking at comments made me think you all need to hear from the visions of Mary K Baxter)
