  • From 1989 Eric Malling looks at the controversy surrounding Salman Rushdie's book 'The Satanic Verses', which has aroused varied responses of outrage from Muslim groups around the world. Malling interviews Salman Rushdie who attempts an explanation at the abstract concepts he was trying to get across, which did not intend any offense to Islam or Muslims.

"Blasphemy is a capital crime in Islam and punishable by death" - Um, there's so many things wrong with that sentence. Firstly, blasphemy is not blasphemy if the person is outside of your faith, put simply you cannot condemn someone for committing a crime that they do not believe in, what that actually is in reality is you murdering someone because of the offence you inferred. Secondly, Islam is a religion not a country, so these are not laws agreed by all for you to then enact upon all - basically he broke no laws, no rules, you just want to kill him because you're upset and using religious dogma to justify murder.

It is okay for muslim rulers to have destroyed several Hindu, Zoroastrian, Sikh, Jewish temples/place of worship. impose tax on non believers, but no one can criticize their religion. The Prophet himself ordered the destruction of all the idols in Kaba, these people don't think that was unjust? Muslims can say all sort on nonsense about other religions, but no one should say anything about their Prophet (NoPBHU).

The kaaba is from start a point of one god no idol worship, and the pegans had turned into an idol trading spot. Worship was done for the sake of buissness. Thus owas bought back to its glory.
Muslims impose jizziya on the non-believers as a price for not participating in the military and to protect the minority. Read the story of andalousiya to understand how jizziya was fully practiced.

Agilen Jey - ISLAM = Legalized paedophilia + wife beating + sex slave
iddah of 3 months in Quran 65:4 is applicable to prepubescent girl. According to Quran 33:49 those who dont need idda/waiting period are those who are divorced before consumated.
O you who believe if you marry believing women and then divorce them before you have touched them (read tamassūhunna or tumāsūhunna) that is, before you have copulated with them, there shall be no [waiting] period for you to reckon against them, [no] waiting period [needed to preclude pregnancy] or otherwise. But provide for them, give them what they can use for [securing] comforts, in cases where no dowry has been fixed for them; otherwise theirs is to retain half of what was fixed, but no more - this is what Ibn ‘Abbās said and it is [the opinion] followed by al-Shāfi‘ī’; and release them in a gracious manner, leave them be without [the intention to cause them any] harm.
      Qur'an 33:49
      Tafsir al-Jalalayn
This verse effectively removes the apologist's objection to Qur'an 65.4 as we see clearly that if a man has not consummated his marriage with his wife then she does not need to observe an 'iddah. If Qur'an 65.4 specifies that pre-pubescent females must observe a 3 month 'iddah then clearly sexual intercourse is halal to Allah.

He brings up an interesting topic. You have to choose between freedom of expression and respecting the dignity of ethnic groups. That is the sentiment of living in a multicultural society. You can not have both when the ethnic groups don’t value freedom of speech as much as we do in the West. So you have to either choose, or change their mentality. These are not simple tasks. But not difficult enough for you to be ignorant about them.
If you prefer freedom of speech, then you will see ethnic groups flooding the streets. But please, don’t act surprised when they do.

    • @TheRubendjc
      @TheRubendjc 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

@@_phildogwell thats ridiculuos, cause the freedom of speech doesn't necessaraly have to do with the dignity of these ethnic groups. For example if i critisize a book/god/religious leaders because its followers threat woman as second. Then i come up for the dignity of these woman. (at least from my own perspective)
If i for example say that white people are racist, then if you are a white person you will be more affected, by that statement, then a non white person, are someone who also thinks white people are racist.
I think that its human behaviour that we get offended, the real problem here is that one group has such a strong identity that they think they can control the whole public sphere by forming new rules, without critisizing their own standpoint about it. So in the interview there also critical things about the christian religion. but they dont know that or choose to ignore it. Thats the real problem here, double standards by a strong groupsidentity.
So how does this point out, if you feel offended by a thing, but your group says, it just a person or get over it. Then it wil have a different effect as lets say, that infidel, or the west is always mocking is, we deserve respect.
I think they just need time and alternatives from their own groups to change this groupsbehaviour.

Why is Islam so weak..that a book can upset so many Muslims..if u claim Islam is the truth..then defend your faith with strong words not by using force n criminal acts.
