Two, while you do need some grip strength, you don't actually need that much depending on the type of deadlift weight. Again, your using a whole lot more muscles for a deadlift than just grip.

The train all that they could train. If you are lacking in one muscle group in strongman, that could make you lose are even an injury. The sport requires a grueling amount of endurance and strength. I have a couple of these grippers, they are no joke! I'm stuck at the 270lb grip. The grippers are metal with deep grip grooves cut in, I've had it tear skin off my hands.
I only got to the 2nd level the 195 pound one i believe. Which is more than my bodyweight so i was pround of it. Ive given them a rest for a while though between my job in construction, the crusher training, and trying to do fine motor stuff like guitar and typing it was too much for my hands they hurt all the time until i stopped
