I am almost positive we are currently staying in the EXACT room you stayed in, and you two did a PERFECT job of explaining your stay in this video. Because of this video, we chose this hotel. For us, it is all about traveling on a budget, and we were able to take thIs trip for half the cost (and more) than had we booked elsewhere. The hotel isn't luxurious, but it is surprisingly comfortable, and the location is perfect. We have been able to walk or take a bus to anywhere we want to go. There is an abundance of food options all around and tons of shopping.
THANK YOU for making one of the most complete, comprehensive give, and informative videos we have seen.

Aloha! I'm a local and live on Oahu and this is an unreal price for Waikiki. Rooms in Waikiki normally run at around $250/night without resort taxes and fees. Hawaii is expensive. This is a great way to visit the islands and spend your hard earned money on other island activities and tours. The location of the Waikiki Central is right in the middle of all the action and if you still crave the beach views, you can visit any other Waikiki hotel property to eat, lounge, walk about and explore with no problem. Nice informative video.

I'm not sure how much exactly we paid because my stepdaughter and her husband are great at saving through internet, etc.. but I'm sure the room we got for the 4 of us was much more expensive than your stay. I am a former hotel manager and the Waikiki Central looked pretty decent and I would have no trouble staying there.

That is the hotel we stayed at for more than 20 years. It used to be called the Waikiki Prince. They kept a tiny ice chest full of utensils & blue ices for us between trips. They kept our beach chairs & ice chest even after they closed and we had to stay elsewhere. I hope we will be able to stay with them again. They are like family to us. I am glad you enjoyed your stay. We took our children some years as well and they had a room which was big enough for the 4 of us and it was only slightly pricier than a single. We never rent a car, so that is no problem. We take the bus out to the "bus depot", buy our 3 year senior bus pass which can be renewed with a monthly sticker and we're good to go. But we are old hands at Waikiki and Honolulu not first timers. Our favorite beach is a ten minute walk down Kalakaua to Kapiolani Park. It is Queen's Surf. Near the Aquarium. It is quiet and you can snorkle by the Jetty. Thanks for your video. We haven't been to Waikiki since 2019 due to the Pandemic, and the last few years when Waikiki Central was closed to remodel we stayed across the street at Royal Grove which is just a bit more expensive, but wsn't then. I have a friend who brings her own sheets.

This is a very pleasant surprise. My girlfriend Alex's dream is going to Hawaii but my god, nearly everything we saw was super prohibitive. From what you showed us in this video it is very acceptable and affordable. Thank you for posting this. I'll be checking out your website recommendation. Hopefully I can find something somewhat affordable in Lihue as well. PS I actually just looked it up and it is quoting us $205 Cad per night which is about the equivalent of $150 USD/night. Now I am noticing this video was taken over a year ago. I'm glad you guys got to grab this deal though. It's a very rare find for Hawaii.

Now at night, the one cross street is a bit dark, and I probably wouldn't walk down it at night, but there's really no reason to walk it at night. I love Hawaii. Been going to Oahu since 2001 to visit family, but, the reality is that Waikiki is full of rundown hotels that need to be renovated or replaced with new ones. Now they all want to charge us for resort fees that are included in the hotel price, like, use of pool, cable tv, toilet paper and so on. Also charge around $50 to park your car rental if you have one, per night. Than you have a funky smelly room, with poor lighting and bad A/C and don’t forget the leaky bathroom with about ten pounds of silicone around sink, toilet and bathtub. Some or most of them won’t tell about their so called resort fees until you check in or out. It’s all a ripoff, and that’s why I don’t go there anymore. Instead we go to Mexico where you get a beautiful hotel room with everything included. In other words, all inclusive, food and drinks…

Not surprised to hear that, but it's still a bargain compared to other hotels in the area. We went during covid, so every hotel was slashing prices.

I just looked, and the rare for the same room I stayed in at the same time of year for the same length of time is $143 a night. Sure, it's doubled, but that's still not bad at all

Nice couple, but why do people travel to Hawaii (of all places) looking for a "bargain"?? Either save save save, or stay home until you're financially ready! I've been there and done that, but I never went over there with expectations of bargains & freebies! smh

because if you find a great hotel you can afford, it might make the difference between staying 4 nights or 7. Nothing wrong with having a budget that allows you have an amazing vacation. Not everyone has an unlimited budget

Awesome! Lovely review- never would have considered this hotel, but really can't beat the price!
