- In his palace, the evil shogun Kunitoki senses his fate approaching by whose hands his minions have already fallen in the wastelands. Armakuni, the last of his kind, is seeking revenge. He's coming, preceded by ominous wind, followed by dead silence. And he’s already in...the Wilderness.
This is our remix of the iconic tune 'The Wilderness' from one of the most well-known Commodore 64 games: The Last Ninja
By this remix, we would like to honour the musical heritage of Ben Daglish, one of the greatest SID composers of all time, who will always be remembered by his many fantastic, versatile and eternal melodies and all of his musical magic within. Thank you, Ben!
Also, we pay tribute to the Hungarian coders who originally created the technical design and graphical concept of Last Ninja, developed the game's own programming language and engine, and even created its own level editor: the Integrator. Although unethically not being listed officially among the game's developers, they truly deserve credit, respect and appreciation for their pioneering work and revolutionary achievements in the widely known and acclaimed video game: The Last Ninja.

I love the elements that contribute into this song, and I always love the sound of synthesizers and electric guitars coming along with the drums that gives a good groove.

Great video! Whoever did the animation brought Armakuni to life in subtle, but very human ways. Also thanks for paying tribute to the Hungarian coders of The Last Ninja - they really deserve more credit. And last, but definitely not least, Ben was not just a great musician, but he also had a larger-than-life personality that brought joy wherever he went - I miss him dearly every time I hear one of his compositions... You guys did a fantastic job with this remix, kudos!

Just stunned by what you made of this… surely this is something like it would be when played with real-world instruments. But even more, it becomes a new tune in the original’s spirit… I so much hope more people can hear this.

I used this song in an intro on C64 once. I remember that one part of the song took so much raster time that you noticed it a little on screen, scroller getting laggy a bit, lol. but I still used it.

Sweet baby Jesus what an amazing remix. I can not even imagine how long did you guys take time to create all these sounds and put them all together. My god, it is perfect. Last Ninja songs covers are good but this one is wow. If you run out of ideas, I got one for you. Song Triceratops Stampede from NES version. It would be awesome to hear your version. Awesome job once more fellas! I'll admit to not being all that familiar with the game, but I did check out the original version and it was pretty cool even back then for an 8bit track =). On another note, I did notice on your website that a certain Mr Gotshi is a One Must Fall 2097 fan. Perhaps we'll be blessed with your own version of that rather rockin title theme in the future? One can only hope =D
