Luke's performances want to make you buy the equipment as he plays the songs people love to hear,I'd love to work in a music store then I could practice and learn all different instruments all day every day
We were just talking about how much we loved our Korg Kross. Combi mode was a ton of fun. We just said we would re buy it probably by the spring. Well now it looks like we'll get an upgrade! Thank you Korg. My only gripe is the interface. It's pretty dated not to go touch screen. But I'll take it anyway. Since I'm used to the old Korg Kross interface. Took me a while to figure it all out but I get by on it pretty well. It's a super fun keyboard I recommend to anyone beginner or advanced. My friend was wiz with building his own combis. It's super powerful once you learn the interface.
VERY impressive demonstration! Your musical and technical prowess are outstanding, Luke! Korg definitely picked the right person for this! That said, while many of the sounds suffer from the "oh ouch that sounds like a cheesy keyboard" factor, some of the other sounds sounded like legit records you'd hear in a blockbuster film, major TV show or as part of a major label record. Overall, definitely one of the most promising workstations I've heard. I could definitely get lost in this thing, playing around and coming up with song ideas. Love it.
I play 4 a living, And own different boards, I have had 4 of these including the original. Kross 2 does a lot, not mentioned on this video, a recorder that is really good, you can record up to 200 songs, as long as you use a 32 gb sound card, this is part of a break Dj type system along side with my I pad. Oh one more thing, you can record your voice via microphone imput, into the recorder. He did not adress this feature ! Good Luck Krossers. I don't think they will discontinue this little giant. Oh one more thing, conver audio to .Wav on the unit itself 🎉
@@arcevico sure they all break, keybed, MAJOR problem, but I perform every day. Also, I'm a banger from the old days of Fender Rhodes, solo and live band, I use it all the time outdoor indoors, but they hold better than they look all and all, sure cheap, but durable, they take heat and cold well. But most of all, they are like feathers to carry at 68 years old.
Why is something wrong with the nautilus. I have it sounds great. Why do you need a successor to the Kronos so you can waste your time learning the frikin thing the rest of your life instead of playing
@@spada60 Because people want to be more hands on like with the Kronos. Yeah okay it might be a learning curve, but isn't that with anything? And also don't you think that it would be worth it in the end?
@@spada60the nautilus is good. There is nothing wrong with it. Same sound as the Kronos. But the Kronos, it was just another level. More hands on surface control, bigger more detailed screen, the build was better as well. It was a musical tank. Nautilus is a simplified version of the Kronos. Still good don’t get me wrong. But it is NOT the successor.
I paired my Kross 2 61 with a Windows tablet running Wavestate & Modwave Native. The audio from the tablet travels over the USB cable plugged into the Kross and I get all of my sounds from one audio cable for quicky pop-up gigs in small venues. Secondly, where can I download the extra factory sounds from the 88 for my 61? A lot of your demo combi/programs are not in my Kross 2.
I really hope they add aftertouch to their keyboards again. I can't go back to no aftertouch. I've used it since my DW8000 in the 80's and it's a really important expressive tool.
@@Jason75913 I purchased the small one and play it from a keyboard which has 88 keys and is directly below it. I don't care for the 61 keys feel but I rarely touch it. Screen is the same and a bit fiddly.
The mic input is a regular jack not a mini but the stereo line in is a mini stereo, a demonstration of the vocoder functionality would have been good...
Hello, so I know how to record onto the piano, but unable to record what I played onto the pads of the Kross or my chip for later listening. Once I shut off the Kross, whatever i just made and recorded has then been deleted when I turn it back on. Can you make a video or give a thorough explanation as to how to have it perminately saved on my chip or on the Kross itself? Thank you.
I have the same one and I’m wondering if it’s possible to run and aux channel for my mixer into it without the signal to be duplicated when it’s sent into the mixer through the main outputs? Thanks The idea is to have a monitor mix from the headphone out of the unit.
I have a question: if you're working on a sequencer part and it's finished or you want to continue working on it later....is there a way to save it on the keyboard? So like different projects are saved to record for later? Or work on again. Thanks.
The Kross2 sequencer already has 16 parts. It cannot control more, the SQ64 would have to run separately or as layers for whatever parts you choose of the 16.
Hi, I have recently bought a Korg Kross 2 and would like to transfer the sequencer recordings I have on 3.5 floppy disc from my Korg 01/Wfd to the Kross. Is this possible and if so how please.
Use a DAW like Ableton Live or GarageBand or something to make sure the MIDI files will be compatible. You will also need a floppy drive to get those files out of those ancient discs. Good luck with the latter.
Can someone tell me the best setting for the amplifier for this korg kross 2 keyboard? I am using Laney Amplifier. Also do you suggest using Cloudburst reverb? I see a lot using that pedal for keyboard
Really I thought it had some great tons. We sold ours for a Modx Plus. But we quickly regretted it. In fact we were just talking about buying it back. Now we'll go with the kross 2. The combi mode was a lot of fun.
Nice Demo Luke like allways your Demos are. Sad is only that Korg cut so many things out from regular. - No aftertouch on most synths - and if have aftertouch not even poly one like seems come as a standart now to have. Its a shame if you see in mid 80 and 90s almost every synth had aftertouch then, even the cheapest had. Now you buy a 1500 synth has no, you need more invest on that to have. anyway... - why there are no knobs ladden interfaces on the Kross and Krome and even Nautilus ?? I mean even the low costs synth line Modwave Wavestate and Opsix have more knobs and faders than Nautilus Krome and Kross together... There was a big hope with Minilogue and co and others that the knobs come back now again. But now seems more that every single knob is a costs factor to save again. Come on Korg, you can that better. At least 8 better 16 Knobs and faders are a MUST on a Workstation with 16 Track Sequencer. Only the control of the Seq and Mixer need that and from sound adjusting anyway. What the hell you want do with 2 Knobs ?? Thats nothing, then if the saving aspect is so high again can cut this also and do BUTTON EDITING AGAIN like in 90s... I am not that Roland Fan from other things but if you look their Products they offer that in most cases. Even a Fantom 0 Line has more Contols and is same Price Range like Krome. Also for future I wished me really Korg let influence things are mandatory in cheaper synths and workstation again. And combine bit the features, a Kross has with this pads a great funktion wich is missed in the expensier Krome ... Why ?? That had could ONE Instrument for the same price like the Krome then. If you spent then at least 8 knobs and Fader Matrix that were a cool instrument to go. But now why I should buy a Kross and a Krome and a Nautilus only to get all the features finally and then still not have Aftertouch... Good theres now an Aftertouch model of Nautilus... I dont know really, but I like my Modwave, Wavestate, Opsix Trio, even its bit annoying Korge needed bring out them now as MK II Version wich cuts the Price for reselling the first one in nirvana. Sad... And why Korg not released at first Lauch also the Rack Desktop Version ?? I had would go for that cause my space is limited. And I have a GOOD Keyboard has Aftertouch POLY to control... So you see, The way Korg is going is bit curious... Not ? Just release Products endless seems for me not the right way, also to save resources from this world. Make GOOD Products not endless counts of them....
No matter the keys, you make them sound FANTASTIC!
indeed
I'm so happy to see a review newer than 5 years ago on this! It is a worthy keyboard still IMO. Thanks for the great video!
The Strings and Choir number was a tear jerker.
Right?! I was like why am I about to cry?! Lol

Can pls make vedio how to edit & mix patch in kross 2, how to mix timber 1/2/3/4 ..its confusing
If the additional sounds for the 61 can be downloaded for free, why didn't they just ship it with the additional sounds..?

You can use the built-in drum rhythms, step sequencer, or arpeggiators for that.
