What I remember most about Acid Storm and the Rainmakers was that they had the Cybertronian jet modes which didn't show up as much as the animation tended to primarily feature Seekers in the F15 forms, even on Cybertron before the war.
I suppose Chip Chase is acidproof? Strangely specific superpower...

Chip Chase is superhuman. Watch any episode with him in it and you’ll see what I mean. He’s survived acid rain. He’s been tossed around like a rag doll to no ill effect. He once even tore a floppy disk in half with his bear hands like it was a piece of paper. He’s a monster.
He is the human with wheels after all.

I remember as being kid, watching that episode of Transformers where they use acid rain on Cybertron. Mostly I remember thinking, if the acid is strong enough to melt metal and it's getting into their circuitry, how the hell is Chip alive?! Shouldn't he be dying horrifically?!

Universe Acid Storm was one of my first Transformers toys. It was definitely my first g1 toy and continues to be one of my favorites. It wasn't until recently I had known of the character's significance. Now I appreciate the guy even more.

I'm so glad to see this bot get some love and a shout out. Ive always been curious about AS and have always taken a liking to his unique color. Hope to see more videos on rare and unique characters like this. As always, great video!! I love seeing the educational side of Cybertronian history and lore. Your videos fulfill my eager mind's need for more knowledge.

Acid Storm is not the green seeker in bumblebee movie. It was Thrust according to the concept arts. The colour scheme kinda fits Thrust in the movie

All Rainmakers/Coneheads/Seeker trio : Ionstorm (dark blue one), Nova storm (yellowish one), Sunstorm (orangish one), Bitstream (teal one), Hotlink (purple one), Ramjet (white with some red and almost black one), Dirge (blue with some yellow and almost black one) and Thrust (red with some purple and almost black one), Starscream (greyish with some blue and red), Thundercracker (light blue with some grey and black) and last one Skywarp (black with some grey and purple).

The 3 main Rainmakers (as suggested in video) and also Bitstream are appearing in IDW Transformers doing their parts, so just that bit more than background characters.. Problem being is that they apparently can't (or won't) talk.... You also forgot Red Wing (made into a toy) and two others (which have names, but I don't think they have toys). P.S. Does Slipstream fit into this narrative... I know she has toys, but I have only really been introduced to her when I caught up in the comics.. Don't know anything about cartoons (I do know she is a toy though)>

I like him just because he's my favorite color. All in all there really aren't that many green Transformers, especially not bright green like he often is. At least not many that hold my interest. Seekers are like Clone Trooper or Stormtrooper variants so it's nice to get a variety of them in different colors. I'd love to get an Acid Storm repaint of the upcoming Siege tetra-jet mold. I don't care if it's made a store exclusive to Wall-Mart, Target, Wallgreens, etc as long as it isn't a con exclusive I'd never have a chance at getting. In the new Cyberverse series we've gotten a lot more Seekers in new colors and I LOVE the black and neon green one we've seen many times over the series. I reeaally hope we get a nice Seeker mold recolored to match that guy!

Loved this episode. Not only for it's informative nature, but - yes - the audio! I never expected audio clips in this (I can't remember every line of dialogue in every episode), so was over the moon to hear "rainmaker", "acid storm" and dialogue from "Cyberverse"!
That transformers universe acid storm figure was my first ever seeker toy and I loved it. I still have it even though it's been broken for year lmao

Awesome job, Chris! I always come away from your videos with a new appreciation for the characters and a new item or two on my shopping list. By the way, bravo for your use of “they” at the end there. The Transformers fandom has done a pretty solid job of accepting gender fluidity and that was a nice example.
The Transformers Universe line that came out in 2008 with the F15 Acid Storm was so cool 2:08
I’m okay with Acid Storm and the other rain makers being revealed as female transformers because honestly it’s about time the writers did something about the sausage fest that is Transformers lore and altering a relatively minor yet loved character is better than outright changing a character like Ironhide or Skywarp
Acid storms first toy paint scheme actually looks realistic on an F15. Woodland camo scheme like that were sported by Aggressor squadrons.

Now that i know that this exists, and green being my favorite color, i hope that the newly released siege Starscream get's an official repaint into Acid Storm. Don't see why they wouldn't.

I never really cared much for Acid Storm, I was impressed he received for the Generations Line, I rather much Sunstorm! But it was really ineresting to learn more about this obscure charatcter! I love this show! I am looking forward for this show every Saturday!

He was also added into the Earth Wars mobile game, as one of the components of that universe's version of Galvatronus, alongside Cyclonus, Astrotrain, Blitzwing, and Mindwipe.

There was a Universe Acid Storm figure at one of the local CVS pharmacies for YEARS at one point. I found it on the shelf in 2012 and was super surprised that it was still there. When I took it to the front to buy it, I found out why: it was $25, which is double what a Deluxe figure at the time cost. It sat there for 4 years and they never marked it down, even though newer toylines had come and gone and were much closer in cost to regular retail.
I guess the moral of the story is, don't by toys from the chemist unless that's the only place you can find them.
The Basics has this absolutely wild way of getting me the most invested in the most unassuming episodes. The Ultra Magnus episode sent me down a 30 minute rabbit hole of Headmasters googling, trying to find a half-remembered comic cover that turned out to be “Fort Max Gets the Shaft”
And now it turns out that the favorite toy 6-year-old me assumed was a weird Starscream is actually Acid Storm!

Ideally they should both be in the show, but yeah, if it had to be one or the other it should be Skywarp.
Skywarp's trademark is currently secure for about 5 more years, but Acid Storm hasn't been used much lately. Gotta hang on to that name.
I remember seeing the classics Acid Storm figure on a toy shelf and thinking “Who?... I’ll but it anyway”.
Imagine If, in some future interpretation of transformers, Acid Storm acts as this withdrawn data clerk of Seekers that just doesn't like going into action as much as the other seekers. Not that Acid Storm is weak or a coward, they just take more pleasure in being left alone, while finding needed information for the other higher ranking Decepticons, giving them that 'nerdy silent kid/office secretary'-type of personality... I would also love If this "gender-bender" situation from Cyberverse gets paid homage in one-episode running gag; having two decepticons arguing in the background:
A: "What is it with her? I can't remember when's the last time she showed up for patrol."
B: "Yeah, like she's some kind of ghost or something. Tho, I think you mean 'he'"
A: "What are you talking about?! Acy is a 'she'!"
Continuing the argument, occasionally throughout the episode, until at one point, the pair finally encounter Acid Storm and one of them yells: "Hey Acid Storm! Are your pronouns 'he' or 'she'?" only for Acid Storm to answer "Yes" in deadpan tone, and leave.

Can we maybe see the Basics on Thundercracker? He's a fan favorite with quite the backstory and character development, especially in the now ended IDW comics.

I can’t believe acid storm of all characters somehow wound up being the most prominent gender fluid character in transformers
All three Rainmakers would also be made as redecos of Starscream in the War for Cybertron: Siege toyline in 2019, based directly on their Cybertronian alternate modes from the G1 cartoon, and Nova Storm has made the jump to TV again in Transformers Earthspark as a fully female Decepticon working alongside a female version of classic Decepticon jet, Skywarp.

I’ve thought about it and I actually really like the idea of Cyberverse Acid Storm being gender-fluid, I don’t expect it to ever be acknowledged in cannon but if they could keep up the model switching in future episodes I’d certainly appreciate it.

Scrap Wing was what I called my mismatched broken seeker toy I had bought new ones to keep going. I can't remember what he was originally, but I fixed him consently cause I was too rough as a kid. I kinda miss him.
Iron Griffon not gonna lie scrapwing sounds like an awesome name for a seeker. And from your little story you said maybe in universe scrapwing could be like animated lockdown but with instead of taking parts from bots for the sake of it but to do it because his body is sick with cosmic rust and has to add new body parts to himself due to it?

Unfortunately, the Studio Series has pointed out that the green seeker in Bumblebee wasn’t Acid Storm, it was just Thrust.
The only Acid Storm toy what I have ever been able to get hold of is his Bot Shot toy. I was so wishing to get his Thrilling 30 Legends Class toy but alas I never get it. I don't mind Acid Storm in TF: Cyberverse been bit of gender swaper, I lean more of idea of Acid Storm been female as that is something new. X3

That would be neat. After all, female Transformers exist, why not genderfluid ones.
I dont see the difference between “male” and “female” transformers because in most lore transformers don’t have “special parts” that let them reproduce and classify their gender, in most lore they are born from vector sigma, primus, or the quintessons. But I like acid storm as a character who doesn’t get much spotlight so he is that one mysterious character.

I, funny enough, remember calling the blue star scream ion storm and the green one as avid rain will little knowledge that they were evr named that way. but I always called the yellow one solar storm

No, he's orange and from a different episode. Sunstorm is in the first episode along with Bitstream and the other two.
Ion Storm was the name of a game development company in the mid 90's. It's also what particularly strong, highly charged solar winds are called. Novastorm is the name of a video game that came out at around the same time that Ion Storm was founded, but by a different company. It seems to have been picked for sounding thematically linked.

I'm all for a genderfluid character, especially since it is isn't portrayed as a negative. Instead it is just normal and I love that. A bit odd for a character that went years without even having a name, but I can't imagine a better choice.
