    Couple of points I wanna make that will help avoid some confusion: 1) I get there might be a job that comes up where you NEED a different lens. No worries. Do what you gotta do. I'm speaking when you're out shooting and it's just for you and you're not being paid, use and commit to using that one focal length for at least 6 months. 2) Monitoring in Black & White doesn't have to be forever, but it really can help you develop quickly. So give it a shot. Not forever but try it for a few months and let me know what you think. 3) None of these things require a certain brand, brands don't matter here. Have a good one, and if you have any questions let me know!

      Crazy people have to be told this on this channel. Hey man. I appreciate your love of photography and your camera. Have you heard the shutter sound for Sony α7R V tho lol Sounds so futuristic.

      Yeah used it this weekend, not really a fan, but that doesn't mean anything other than personal taste... it is without a doubt an insane camera. @@cesarangeles1699

    I'm on an R7 with the cheap RF 16, 24, 35, 50, and the 100-400. When I started out I absolutely loved 35mm full frame and knew I needed the 24mm to make that work with the R7 crop. But now I'm living in Banff and my 2 most used lenses are the widest and narrowest... the "garbage" 16mm with the worst bits cropped out is giving me the landscapes and the 100-400 is giving me the wildlife. The 24mm gets a little play and the 35mm is hibernating until I get back to full frame. I never thought I'd like a field of view so similar to a phone camera but here we are (in the mountains).

    We have similar set ups. All I do is take the fixed lens out now. I can’t remember the last time i shot with anything other than 28. You’re so right. You truly get to love that focal length. Wonderful video mate. As always.

    Cool stuff. I only got into photo/video for business. But I liked it. And then really liked it. I was a creative Director/illustrator in NYC for a very long time before moving to Texas and starting my own thing. That's when I had to put on more hats out of necessity. When a client asks for something, "I got it" is my answer. I need to shoot more just for fun stuff like you're doing here. Right now I have to be prompted to get my gear and go. This was good for my head. Thanks.

    • @caffeinatedcameras
      @caffeinatedcameras  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s freakin rad man. It’s been really hard to just shoot for me, but after a near creative implosion it’s been the thing keeping me sane. For me the 1 camera 1 lens principal helps differentiate between when it’s work and when it’s for me too. Get after it big man! Thanks for watching

    Hey! Really enjoyed the mood of this video 👌🏻 I don’t see this as a tutorial video, more of a "these are my thoughts on photography and my experiences". I’ve also put my JPGs in B&W just to see the lighting better, it’s really useful. Enjoy your videos, make more like these, it was really good 👍🏻 All the best from Norway 🇳🇴😊

    I love this! I just got the Q2 and have really appreciated what the limitation has done. It's exactly as you describe: it really forces you to understand that length and it really trains your eye to 'see' in that realm.

    You know what’s crazy to, speaking to your 28mm focal length portrait statement….I don’t have very many lenses as a rookie, but dude you can take some cool shots with a macro! I’ve been experimenting taking all kinds of (not close up) shots and they turn out sick!
