When we try to pull out string with our new gamma machine, it keeps on spinning and when it stops, it starts a countdown and loosens the string. How do I fix this?
Hello, So the string machine will keep spinning until it is feels resistance. Are you wrapping the string correctly and putting it into the teeth? Also it starts a count down once it is done pulling the tension. It is to give you time to finish putting the clamp on and get ready to move to the next string. I think it is to prevent damage to the machine by holding tension too long at one time.
@@PreciseTennisStringing yes, I have experience with the same exact stringer in the past, but for some reason this new machine is doing this countdown. It gives us 10 second countdown to do so but this has never happened to me with my former machine.
@@lemieltaira That is very strange. So after you pull tension on one string and you push the button to relase it, it starts a 10 second count down before releasing the string?
@@PreciseTennisStringing no, I push the button, starts spinning excessively, starts a countdown, and then loosens up. I’ve never seen it before aswell. I don’t know how to fix it

It's true that you want to align the base. However, I found when I lock the base it is more accurate because if I don't lock it, the base will shake so it affects the actual tension on the string. What I do is I first align the base then I will lock it. This allows me to be aligned but also have a more accurate tension reading wihtout the base shaking back and forth. In this case, since I am just attaching the string from the clamp to the puller (no racquet), I can just move the clamp in the correct alignment. You want to reduce all movement when callibrating so it's accurate. That way all your string jobs will be accurate.
@@JosiahHeng I'm assuming you have already changed the speed setting to fast on the control interface. I also noticed the speed and especially the sound seemed different. I was worried at first so I reached out to Gamma. They said nothing is wrong after I sent them a video so I've been using the new one for the past several months and so far it seems just fine. I think the newer ones though need to be calibrated more often. I'm having to do it once every 6 weeks or so. My assumption is they made changes to the parts and software (hopefully to increase longevity and not just to cut costs). I would recommend taking a video and sending it to gamma. That way you can get confirmation from a specialist and also in case something does go wrong at least you have a record of reporting it.
@@PreciseTennisStringing My issue is that the stringer pulls really slow, and overall causes me to string much slower than I am used to on my first stringer...
@@emanuelegrotto1936 hello, I don't see any way for us to install the software without a gamma employee. They would probably need the device back in their warehouse to install the new software. If your machine is functioning correctly, the new software doesn't really seem to change much on how the device functions so I would just continue using the old software. If your machine has problems though you may be able to send it in to gamma to get some repairs? And I'm sure you can ask them to update the software to the machine.
I find this very helpful! Thank you for doing this

Why you lock the base? is it more rigth if you have the base loose so it aligns itself when it makes the pull?

So i have two of these machines, and the newer one sounds different, and tensions slower. Any idea what to do?
