Can’t wait to try these things out! We have a 3 month old BMD who is teething on toys and our hands. This is very informative! Thanks so much!

Hey guys, great video. Our guy is a big 105-110 pounds 9 months old bernese lab mix (85/15, looks like textbook bernese but bit more athletic and muscular) who is perfect unless spending long time in the backyard in the snow which is context for zoomies/nipping/biting/jumping/barking when we meet him outside.

My Bernese puppy also hates the heat/ sun. You think she’ll get used to it or just walk her more in evening and early morning?

I’m really struggling with my five month old BMD and nipping / growling rough play. We can’t walk in the garden without her growling and attacking as if I’m going to wrestle her but it’s not in a nice way and not getting any better. You say ensure they see you as a leader before you work on correcting behaviour. How do you know they see you as a leader?

I love your videos. I always learned a lot . What about when the dog bites but slowly and softly? We have to stop also that behavior?

Hi, I’m a Bernese Mt Dog owner for like 4 years now. My dog has always lightly held my hand in his mouth. It’s pretty gross but to my dog it’s like holding my hand, and he loves to follow me. What I do is I hold a rag in my hand and let him hold onto that. I don’t know exactly what to do if your Bernese does this to other people, but in the rare cases my dog has mouthed guests I tried to get him to get away from the hand. Then rewarded the dog, I hope this helps.

my bernese's bitting problem started when he was three months and now he is 14 months. when he bites it hurts and pains a lot. we tried 4 trainer and with trainers he dosent have this problem. the problem that ı understood from your videos that ım not a good leader and he doesnt respect to me. biting problem for us is not a simple problem becasue when we go out he bites my clothes and the leash. sometimes its becomeing impossible to walk. although we dont leave him alone for long hours his behavior is like this. everyday a walker takes him to walk for 1 hour or more. if the wheather is good we leave him to a daily garden for dogs. but biting problem goes on. ı have been dealing this problem for 14 months and ım mentaly finished. ım disapointed, tired and very upset

Is this still common for a 9/10 month old berner!? My 10 month old berner is overall a very good pup but he has his moments where he kind of goes crazy with the mouthing and biting especially towards family/friends that come to our house

Yeah, totally. We'd recommend to start redirecting them mouthing so they know when they're older biting isn't an option 😊

What is a good appropriate chew toy for Bernese puppy’s? I have some Ram ankle bones but I figured I’d wait until they were older because of slim needle teeth that puppies have.

Seems like you went on & on without saying much, very little instruction for long speech? Did you kill all that time just to tell the dog owner to tell the dog not to bite??? I have never had that problem with my dogs, but I don't get down on the ground with them and act like I am an animal with them.

You should tell a dog.that he should be no more chewing on a clothes or other kids toys. Or pillow can chew on
