I like the new FRH’s we are seeing now with the steam vent built in. They are supposed to be better at heating as there’s no cooling due to condensation. Great looking pack of goodies too👍
Nice one gundog the pork and rice looks good and that was a wild flavor on the dry beverage mix!! ..first time ive aeen something that exotic.....i bet those gels would come in handy throughtout the day just grab a spoonful of it and keep moving .....excellent job as always
Art and Nina at Foreign MRE need to get in contact with these guys as they are looking for more resellers. Very true about the sugars, The US MRE makers can learn a lot from these guys, there are good calories and bad calories, sugar isn't good calories, complex carbs, proteins and fats are good calories. These look great.
Damn Gundog i am kind of jealous. I saw these reviewed i think by Crombat a few months ago and emailed Tactical Foodpack, but they said they could not ship the the US yet. All of their meals sound quit good and so far they look good even with some odd combinations. Thanks for sharing!

Very good review. Love oatmeal for breakfast and I like it thick with nuts stirred into it. I always carried a package of mixed dry spices to mix into the mre’s to knock it up a knot check.
Branch chain amino acids are the things inside the protein that the body wants. It's like getting the candy without the wrapper. Less work and time for your digestion to "unwrap".
I love something new Amigo !!!!! Great backstory as well friend. This seems well designed, and , well thought out. If they ever get them out on the market, I would love to try one. Any estimated date? P.S., I love the special forces principle, LOL. I caught it, sweet, LOL ! All components in part 1, including extra meals, look awesome Dog. I am sure, part 2 will come out as well. Those FRH pads, and outside bag, are A winning combination, cool ! Great part 1, Peace, John.

Freezing is still a problem even if you can eat it... The problem is the way changes of matter state work, you need extra energy to bring the gel up to melting point and then to melt it... Not optimal, but depending on how nutricious it is it will still be worth it...
If only the US military cared enough about its soldiers to develop a ration like this for them. Just jam pack everything with preservatives and slap in a laxative chewing gum! Heaven forbid we get any fiber let alone anything freeze dried.
It is a work in progress but all the mains will last as long as any other freeze dried meal I would guess. Their shelf life goal for all the contained items is 8 years. Cheers MW!
I imagine the single meals will be price comparative to most of the freeze dried brands on the market. Have no clue when the plan on being in the states.
Just bought 4 weeks worth of this. I think it's just the mains though. We had a sale on the two week buckets at my job, so I got 2. One bucket of 21 mains was 599nok 8nok is about 1usd. So this will be my meals this whole hunting season. Only really tried the buckwheat one, so hope the rest are of the same quality.
If you like "pickled" things you have to try the meat soup. It's essentially rassolnik and at least to me it is delicious! Don't forget to add some of your own spices and herbs to make it your own, as it were. Oh and the Fish Curry....Yum!

I've been preaching that exact thing for years. I know all the chemists and nutritionists are needed but they don't eat the stuff they make for 30 days out in the field. Don't get me wrong, everything gets old after awhile. That's why whenever different military forces work together the first thing they do is try to trade food/rations HAHA!
@@gundog4314 I agree and admit knowing you guys had to eat MRES everyday I gotta give you props. The iron stomachs you guys have to have is insane. I found that the chilli mac was good but I still felt just sick after eating it. Even after working out. They should atleast have a rotation of either people who are veterens are are still in the military to be there to help them come up with food. I'm glad they finally got the pizza out on the line for MREs but you and I both know those men and women have a huge list of foods they would rather have in the rations.
This looks really good. The reusable heater bag is a good idea too. Everything looks higher quality than US MREs, but I would also be afraid of the cost. The shovel spoon and the gusseted entree bags are akways a plus. That unused heater element could be used for something else - like a quick hand warming with the bag.
Haigh Agri Limited seems to be the only seller for that area (off continental Europe, i mean). Tip, they are currently looking for sellers, so if there's any military oriented shop around you, maybe give them a word that these guys are looking for sellers, that way, you'll get some close.
It's not even on the market yet, they are testing it for feedback, improvements and distributors around the world. I am quite confident with the feedback they get from this review somebody has already sent them a few emails for that exact purpose HAHA!
now that i think about it, if you want to try the norwegian ones, you can search the ingredients pretty easily since the freezedried meals are also sold comercially so probably you can see the ingredients online before you buy... there is a webpage called lyophilisee that sells them and has the ingredients listed
So what is the point of adding spices to these meals that a soldier would not have in the field. It irks me when MRE reviewers do that. And I kind of ohhh validates their review.
I carried my own when I was in the Army, hell everyone with half a brain did even if it was only their own bottle of hot sauce. I mean if people don't take initiative to do things for themselves....you get what you get. But if you bring your own garlic, onion powders and some cajun spice with some sea salt. I t turns a crappy MRE into a tasty one.

I do think it really needs another bag inside to store both trash, and food items. It really just needs to be thin plastic trashbag.

I have a rare food allergy. I can't eat onions. what mre brands/ manufacturers do not use onions in their meals?
Uhh that is going to be hard... You probably have to search the menus for it

I think it has more to do with the name of their company than anything else. But I get your point. there's tactical and tacticool.
