    I must say this whole Mass Making series is prolly the BEST series on YT. It is more useful, and more fun, and makes us start thinking about our scraps better than ANY other series in using up scraps. I for o e want to thank you sooooo much !!

    Crafting right along with you Tina! Great idea to use up some leftover bits! Aha.. I live in Florida and yes all the shops are open every day till 8, 9 or 10 pm! Also some Wal-Mart shops are open 24 hours! But many stores don’t have late night shopping or have closed..the smaller “mom n pop “ stores have found it very hard to stay open. We now have this weekend which is Thanksgiving weekend a “shop local, support your small neighborhood store “ weekend! Which I totally support because I too shop online a lot too. Tyfs..xx 💞💞

      Fantastic, I love to think that we are crafting along together. Oooooh, so jealous of your late night shops!!!! Lol . It's difficult isn''t it, because we want the actual shops to stay open, but the convenience and availability of online shopping just makes it hard to beat x

    Love your fabric paper clips. They're so cute and easy. That's my kind of crafting. I like pre-making decorative elements and ephemerals in masses, so when I start decorating my journal pages, it'll be much faster to complete them. I like the way you think. I laughed so hard when you said about buying Christmas presents way ahead of time cus you won't remember where you put them. I've done that once and never again. Lol!!! Preparing way in advance is for the birds. Tfs GOD Bless

    Hi. Because we always had at least 3 little ladies needing dollies for Christmas we shopped the sales after Christmas to get the new babies. Then I had time to make the doll’s wardrobe over the year. That’s how I learned to work with tiny, the girls seemed to graduate to Barbie eventually. I would have never thought to use fabric for the base for paper clips. Thanks for sharing.

    I haven't made the banners with fabric. These are super easy. Even better because you don't have to decorate the back side. I will be using my glue gun because it is faster and cheaper than the 3 in 1 glue. I worked at a grocery store for over 39 years and I worked until 11 PM alot. I worked nights and weekends and my husband was off early and off weekends. I was off days during the week. It all worked out fine for our boys. I will be busy making these. I have a bunch of small fabric scraps ready to go.❤❤❤

      Oh have fun with these, I have a confession, I messed up the upload order, and these were supposed to be next week, so the next mass making will be telling you to have your fabric ready! Sorry! Wow, 39 years, that is a long time, you must have been happy there. I would hate to work until 11pm, as that is past my bedtime 😉 x

    Unfortunately, I'm one of those people that shops all year round for any gift-giving occasion simply for frugality reasons. We can't afford to spend all that money all at one time and I have a husband that can't simply hold onto money for a different reason. It must be spent! So all year, I'm squirreling away little bits of money and saving various gifts I find throughout the year. We do however have a tradition where we take the boys Christmas shopping at the biggest mall nearby the Sunday before Christmas. It's one of those fun, sneaking around to hide from each other at the mall so no one guesses what they're getting. our shopping is typically done before then, but this shopping trip is for our boys to do their shopping. It's totally festive and fun! I completely agree with you.

      Oh I love the family tradition that you have of the shopping trip on the last Sunday before Christmas. I am chuckling at the vision of you all keep bumping into one another and trying to hide what you're buying ! Lovely times x

    These are so adorable. Yes the stores in the US are open late (9pm). Then we have stores that are open 24 hrs. I don't know how you get any shopping done when they close at 5pm. That would be tuff if you work until 4 or 5. Wow, that's crazy!!
    Christmas is all about the hustle and bustle. I'm kind of a last minute person too!

    Oh to hear how you described your Christmas shopping late night and hearing the music was just like I see on TV. I would love to be in that atmosphere. In the US it’s not like that at all. All these large businesses aren’t the same as shopping at smaller shops and boutiques. I prefer the smaller shops myself. I would love to visit the U.K. A lot of crafters think we are so lucky being in the US because of the craft stores but we don’t have the beautiful ephemera and things that your area does. I guess it’s kinda like you always want what you don’t have lol. I enjoy a much slower pace than what we have in the US. I don’t always comment even though I try but I LOVE this series Tina! Hugs

      Oh thank you so much Lisa, I really appreciate your comment, like you I am watching, but don't often have the chance to comment. Yes Christmas late night shopping used to be so magical, but I don;'t think it will be here for much longer. It's the changing world we live in isn't it, so many fantastic opportunities but every now and then we loose something so precious, it's sad. I am one of those who is envious of all your craft stores!!!! Lol Happy thanksgiving x

    As far as Christmas shopping, I get off to a good start, and vow to keep on track, but then end up spending more on shipping than I did on the gift because I mail at the last minute. I’m the same with cards. My favorite is browsing and shopping on Christmas Eve. Prior to that, people tend to be stressed out, aggressive, rude. On Christmas Eve, the moods change somehow. There’s quiet desperation for some, but overall, people tend to be more pleasant to share space with. I tried the whole Black Friday thing once. Never again. I also tried the day after Christmas thing. Ditto. It’s like taking your life into your own hands just being in the parking lot, let alone in the stores. Online shopping is definitely a sanity-saver.
    Retail stores here in the states close at 9 p.m., except some close earlier on Sundays. Mega-stores like Walmart are open 24 hours. Large, national chain stores have extended hours from the day after Thanksgiving (the 4th Thursday of November) through December 23rd. Most everything closes at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Restaurants close at 9 p.m., except Fridays & Saturday’s where they stay open until 10 or 11. Some fast food places, like MacDonalds, keep their drive-throughs open until midnight. Many bars (taverns) serve food. Typically burgers, fish & chips, and the like. They don’t close, generally, until 2 a.m. Many gas stations have 24-hour convenience stores. When I was growing up, stores always closed on the major holidays (New Year’s day, Easter, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas). All that’s left nowadays is Christmas. Sadly, the rest have become ‘business as usual.’
    This is probably waaaaay more information than you bargained for, but it goes to show how we’re becoming a 24-hour society here in America.

      Oh it's so sad isn't it, the way of the world is changing in so many ways. Don't get me wrong, many of which I love, but the "business as usual" on the holidays is horrible. That said, I wish our shops were open later the rest of the year, especially Sundays, when ours close at 4pm. x

    I have gotten away from the Christmas shopping in the stores. I guess with the convenience of online I just don’t go as much, which is not good. Last year I realized I didn’t have enough for the kids so I my husband went to find some small stocking stuffers on Christmas Eve and there was literally NOTHING on the shelves. They ended up with some candy. 🙄 Thanks for the mention on the tiny paper clips. I love tiny lol. xoxo ~Jenifer

      If your kids are anything like nine, they probably didn't mind the candy! Lol. Oh I loved your paperclips, I don't think I could make anything so tiny and fiddly, but they were GORGEOUS!!! x

    I LOVE these. Wait... I think I say that about everything 🤔😂. You do such awesome pieces. Do you find the 3 in 1 glue is any different than the Fabritac? I do... The price! Other than that I don't see any difference.
    How about for mass making if we do coin envelopes with flaps?
    As far as Christmas, I don't shop anymore. All of my huge family has passed except my estranged daughter and a sister that doesn't live nearby. WOW it just hit me... I can buy for myself 😄. That sounds like a great plan. I need to work on a list! 😂🤣

    • @shabbydabbydoodah
      @shabbydabbydoodah  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh thank you Susie. Yes, like you say the only difference seems to be the price. Coin envelopes with flaps? Do you mean like policy envelopes? Sorry to hear about your family having all passed except for your estranged daughter and a sister, great idea, buy something lovely for yourself x

    • @susiescraftroomandstudio
      @susiescraftroomandstudio 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shabbydabbydoodah i was referring to what we call coin envelopes and y’all call policy envelopes. Lol 😂. I meant with brads, not flaps, but then I realized that we did them in about week 3 or so. I did learn a way to put the brads on allot easier. Rather than run the string through the hole and glue it. I actually put my string attached to the circle on the flap rather than on the envelope, using a surgeons knot. How to tie it: after you attach the brad, when you go to tie it you do the first part like normal where you cross the ends and then run one end under the other, then run the end back under again and pull snug. Be sure to do it at the bottom of the circle if you do it from the flap or make sure the string comes around to the top if you are bringing the loose end up from the circle on the envelope. It doesn’t make it real bulky. I using punch out a circle the same color as the inside of the envelope and cover the back of the brad for extra support, plus it covers the prongs. I hope that makes sense. I also used a beautiful, vintage pearl with diamonds old button. The kind that you run the thread through the back, then I ran the string from the back like you showed so that I could decorate the envelope. Turned out beautifully. Now I have a way to use all those old buttons with the thing on the back. So many option with those. I also saw where someone had used the stretchy thread and just made a loop. Then you stretch it to attach to the other circle.
      The holidays are difficult. I have buried all of my grandparents, parents, step parents, my husband in his 50’s, my son, my two brothers and a sister all younger than 50. I couldn’t survive the grief without the Lord. I am fighting depression this year by writing a list and adding to it each day of something I am thankful for. I am also making a list things I could, and probably do complain about. That has really changed how I have been reacting to situations because someone is always watching us whether we know it or not.
      I’m in South Carolina and we DO NOT pay to park, unless you go to the big city and have to pay a meter, which is only change, but that is so far for me that I never go there.
      I love Christmas music too. I love the old Christmas traditions of people stopping in and having cookies, eggnog, cider, etc. it wasn’t about gifts, but about spending time with friends. The whole gift and Santa Claus things just get bigger and bigger every year and we forget the real reason for Christmas.
