Class of 1986 here! Van Halen was one of the first and few heavy metal bands that we played at house parties…. Because we could dance to their music!! Absolute dance tunes with a fun-loving metal edge. Good times! 😎🎶🌴
Nice. This album came out when I was in first year of high school. Lots of VH fans were not happy with the 'new sound'. I'd loved everything VH had put out but I absolutely loved this 'new' VH. I literally ran that tape out and had to buy another. This whole album is gold. True VH fans know how to appreciate both DLR and Sammy iterations... To this day, OU812 is my second favourite VH album, after Fair Warning. Both very similar in gritty feel.
Some fun lore about this song is when David Lee Roth was the lead singer he had a strict “no love song/no ballads” rule for the band. I think it was an image thing, but regardless, when the band booted him out and replaced him with (already very famous) Sammy Hagar he decided to make a “love song” their first single, as a little thumb to the nose at David. 😂❤
When it first came out it was very hard to to get used being a die hard Vh fan seeing the original line up in concert 2 times but it finally grows on you
The first time I heard this I hated this. Didn't like it at all. It was too different from the Van Halen i already knew with David Lee Roth. It just sounded so different and weird at that time. Fast forward to years later and up till now it sounds so much better than it used to. It's still different from the Roth Van Halen, but it's still great in its own unique way. Hagar is a great vocalist.

Right Now, Love Walks In, Dreams, are all great with Sammy's vocals.
Mmmm "Love Walks In"!!
Sammy got one of the best voices in rock. He can belt it out imo.
Love me some van Hagar! Knew you'd love this album. Glad it finally won, I tried enough!
I always enjoyed Mikey's background vocals on this. His harmonies with Sammy's vocals always made Van Halen sound better!
Good point...and not usually mentioned.
I've always enjoyed this song.
YES!! My having a beer on the weekends house band. I love Van Halen any place any time. ❤Stay safe🍻🎸🎤🔊
I lke both versions Van Halen and Van Hagar but this is one of my favorite albums, Dreams rocks!

This is one of the great albums of the 80's. It had four other hits - Love Walks In, Dreams, Best of Both Worlds, & Summer Nights.
Check them all out!
I'd always been a Sammy Hagar fan, so joining Van Halen was a match made in Halen! Great year, great album.
I know a lot of people consider this one of the not great songs, but I love the synth line. Sweet hook.
Love this song. Both iterations of Van Halen were great in my opinion.
This is one of those songs that gets me bopping ..
I remember when this was in the charts!
If you haven't checked out VH's "Dreams" Blue Angel video I highly recommend. 🤘
Not enough
Summer nights
Love walks in
Pound cake
Right now

What is there more to say legends VH and Sammy one of the best singers period

This was a great album. This song was a good starter for the album but I reckon Dreams is even better, and I LOVE Love Walks In, GREAT ballad.
5150 in addition to being the police code for a person with a mental problem AKA crazy is sweat Eddie Van Halen named his home recording studio
I love Dreams the best, but this one is great too!
5150 is my favorite VH album. Reminds me of my freshman year in HS. 1984 is my number 2.
Thank you.
Thanks for the review more van halen pleezz

❤❤❤❤
i always preferred Sammy with them over David, but i like them both. this is one of my fav van halen songs.
Hated it when it came out (being a David Lee Roth guy, but i loved Sammie as well) Eventually grew to like it
Love this! Check out Sammy's song I Can't Drive 55 but don't drive while listening, you might get a ticket. LOL
Dreams and Feels So Good are well worth a listen from the Van Hagar era
More Sammy! "Mas Tequila, Little White Lie, Bad Motor Scooter (Montrose)" so many more!
Try Cheap Trick. Surrender, the
flame , dream police
G dog you'd like the song Black and Blue
Yes, if you ignore Hagar’s godawful lyrics. Musically, though, it’s pretty good.
@@VanHalensGuitarPick hey dude you have a little Dave on the corner of your mouth. Better wipe that off
✨❤️🩹✨
Always preferred Sammy over DLR…. and have seen both VH versions live. IMHO
I know I’m not supposed to, but I always preferred Sammy over Dave.
Same!
Ditto!
Maybe a controversial opinion but van Halen with Sammy was way better than with David

I prefer David
NOT a ballad.

You think that's great. You have no idea, check out Right now, Poundcake and Dreams.
