I still can't get over how insanely awesome a design the Vidar is, it really is one of the coolest designs to come out of the whole *metaverse* of Gundam in some time. Everything from the focused and trim design to the unique, beautiful color scheme is great and it so deserved to be in the anime more. lol
This Gunpla is among the worst I have ever built. It's so busy, loaded with stupid bullshit, and poses like complete ass. Plus the stickers. Jesus Christ the stickers.
This suit has 3 things I'm a sucker for 1.) Blue 2.) Unique melee weapons 3.) Piloted by "the masked man" I've been holding off because of the sticker sheet amount and until I see the 1/100 since I prefer that scale overall for building purposes but... This one looks pretty great and would be to scale with most of my other IBOs.... TEMPTATION
This thing looks amazing. It's already close to my personal colors without even trying, and being an IBO kit it is going to be extremely kitbash-friendly. Thank you for the review, I'll probably pick one up at our best hobbyshop this weekend :) I plan on giving mine the Barbatos Form 6's arms and sideskirt thrusters, the Sinanju's beam rifle, and POSSIBLY the Astaroth Origin's shoulder wing things and backpack. Please let me know if you can think of any parts-engineering conflicts with this idea, if you don't mind :) Also I love your Vidar Titan crossover idea. It is amazing and should always be displayed that way. Anything else is doing it a disservice.
I did suspect that was the pilot the first time I saw him. Good, I really grew to find him fascinating as a character as time went on. For the obvious Garma Zabi stand-in, he has had a fascinating ride.
Ya know Mecha I just found you recently and I love your videos. I’m quite knew to gunpla but I’m attempting to expand my collection and I LOVE Vidar so much so that I ordered a Vidar, bael and astaroth origins and I’m so pumped to be getting them tomorrow
LOL, yeah I was thinking the same Attack on Titan thing when I first saw the Vidar in action. I agree, it's one of the better looking Gundams in the series so far.
yeah i'm going to wait till a Robot Damashii ver comes out of this, they did a very good job on Barbatos looking forward to it, if they do one that is.
Style wise, Vidar does look awesome. And you're right in saying Bandai cut corners. It feels like the backpack belongs to a line that I won't speak of (that line being so bad). Same with the flat hand guns. But my real issue is that they should have included an extra runner, just for the black stickers. I can understand small stickers for a head (Full City), or some for color matching (Graze Ritter)...but black? Seriously, the black stickers should have been another runner. Maybe Bandai could cap the IBO line at 2000 yen, and offer up better product. People would by more, if the product was just plain better.
Mayoniez ! dumb, because mobile suits have more power, weaponry, and flight capabilities. Close ranged weapons capable of cutting through metal, cutting through some hardened flesh would be a joke.
Titans couldn't even stand up against world war one level artillery, much less a freaking gundam. A one armed malfunctioning Zaku unit piloted by a weeb with downs syndrome could conquer the entire AoT universe.
Hi Mecha, I'm a fellow model reviewer. How do you shorten the length of your model reviews? I talked about everything but my reviews are lengthy. And also, would you be reviewing the new upcoming form of the Vidar? Thank you for the reviews and feel free to check out my own reviews, Cheers MJ2005GUNDAM
2:13 LMAO That #AttackOnTitan or #ShingekiNoKyojin reference was perfectly executed. Anyway, I think the Burst Saber is sort of like a standard beam saber in that the blade "comes off" when the beam saber is deactivated. I suppose this was the only closest way they could replicate that without the use of beam weaponry. I really hope that at least the #Gundam Frame types get an MG release.
I just put this bad boy together and aesthetically he is awesome. My only real complaint is a lot of the joints don't snap together very securely, and the final build comes apart very easily even under minor handling and posing. I might end up putting a bit of cement on a couple of the joins just to solidify it somewhat.
Well the Idea of the blades is if it get stuck the handle will just detach and the actual blade will explode so pretty cool oh and and will u be getting the Mobile Armour and of course u are getting the florous
It sort of depends, I'm not sure if there are polycaps that small, even if we could just trim the outer edges, bit I'm not sure if there is a polycaps with a hole that small
@@Chovyy-f25 I guess that could work, but polycaps really doesn't "stick", they just have high friction, but if you just super glue the interior or the very ends of the "scabbard", just so the hole turns small enough to have enough friction to hold the "toothpicks" in place, I guess that could work
Love this kit. The only thing I hate about it is the back back plates that fall of just because I looked at them. Do you think gluing on some polly caps onto the plates could fix that? I started building at the beginning of the year but am still too scared to experiment with my kits haha
I have one of these in box still on my bedroom side have been looking for something to kit bash it with, one of them was going to be sinanju, do you think that would fit together?
i think the general build of each manufactured Gundam Ibo kits are actually randomized in its quality build, because i remember from your review of lupus that the skirt armor is the most loose to which it is on my lupus but my lupus also has a severe loose joints on its shoulder frames and i have to stuff small pieces of shredded tissue to make it fit to which makes me certain that the quality of each production of each Gunpla kits are totally different than one another despite getting good reviews..... or i could be a bastard who doesnt love his Gundam kits enough and ends up destroying them for not maintaining their integrity but alas, the shoulder armor hinge also had broken off..... gotta fix it but i tried with mr hobby cement glue which didnt do much actually.....any tips?
Ariel Simkin I prefer the 1/100 over the 1/144 because color details are made with actual plastic and not stickers. (at least most of them) plus you get the Actual knicker gun storage and the interchangeable blades and the holster thing can slide back like it did in the show when we first saw vidar. +Rick and/or Morty the HG kits are the shit! I avoided HG like the plague until they came out. Absolutely not a fan of the 1/100s. They're too simple for how big they are.
+Mecha Gaikotsu: Isn't simplicity the point of IBO NoGrades? They are relatively simple to assemble. Yet they have lots of engraved details one can easily pronounce with simple panel lining. They are comparatively cheap for their size, a little bit more than twice the HGs cost and need about twice the amount of building time (thus making you feel some "worth" of your time spent). Their size enables the NoGrades to pull of better proportions. And it makes them look less toyish and more "Collectibly" than the HG line does. Also, less stickers, better colour separation. That's a lot of good points for me to choose them over IBO HGs, especially if I'm a Gunpla beginner or - as a collector who just likes to peak into other hobbies without getting overextended there - only wanting to have a cool looking model I can have assembled moderately fast with limited effort. Granted, after having completed at least 2 Graze or Gundam frames, building the respective frames gets repetitive, though, but that's also something you can say about the HGs. Even more so, to be honest. The only big selling point for the HGs I see, is their wide range of models. And IBAs with Mobile Workers. But that's mostly it. ;)

lmaaaooo WTF!!! is it weird that great minds think alike...because i was jus think how much he reminded me of him in a moblie suit version
glad Im not the only one who realized vidar looks like Devil Trigger Vergil. All it really needs is the blue trench coat and katana.

Aoki Hagane haha true if they made the 3DMG attachment to it
can we see a Gundam on a mission to slay Titans? :D
roblox player probably the Zeta would be the best for slaying TITANS
Was thinking that
+T-70 X-Wing i bought gundam 00 sky and name it gundam 00 skywalker
Darth Vidar VS OO Skywalker. Lit! 🤣
This kit is almost perfect if it weren't for the misleading frontskirts and the half assed backpack
They are pretty bad
in the the vidar's defense, the backpack is not a backpack at all. its actually the 3rd ahab reactor
I just bought one, its on the way, i thought i wasted my money but you showed how good gundam vidar is, thank you bro!

Be prepared to wait a few more years then sadly.
ExtremeSManpig the full mechanics applies for the 1/100 scales, not HG

because you're commenting on a video of an HG review??
