    💜💜💜💜 TOO FACED has emailed me back about the Cocoa Powder Foundation. Their response: "While some of our authorized retailers have decided to discontinue stocking this item, as of yet we have no plans to discontinue this item. While we are currently out of stock on our website, please know that we are constantly replenishing the amazing assortment of items on a daily basis. Unfortunately, I cannot give you an exact date or replenishment for any one item, but know that we are stocking as fast as we can! :)" So YAY!! 💜💜💜💜

    It's great to have a "go to" resource for the everyday women looking to enhance their features without it being overly fussy especially geared for women in their 40s. We have more specific needs than those of a younger person so your videos are so informative!

    Please do the loose powder routine as well! Loved this tip cause I think what was going wrong with powder foundation was that while I was buffing it in I microexfolieted the skin and then it looked cakey! Will be trying this next time I use powder!

    I'm always amazed that people are able to put concealer on before foundation! No matter if I'm using liquid or powder foundation I have to conceal last. If not it just rubs away regardless of how I apply the foundation. Always looks amazing that way on me too, even when I use powder foundation. I've never had an issue with using cream on top of powder. So interesting how different everyone's skin works and reacts to products/methods.

    I am 67 and I use Max Studio Fix Plus Powder Foundation. I start with ISDIN Photo mineral sunscreen then I moisturize my eye area with Bobbie Brown Vitamin Enriched Eye Base which absorbs super fast and worth every penny. After that I apply the powder foundation with a brush and finish with a dusting of powder blush high on the cheekbone and starting at the edge of the maylar area under the eye and sweeping back and onto temple. I use Natasha Denona concealer applied with fingers. I gently stretch the under eye to get the product in the wrinkles. Then I use the barest dusting of the Max Studio Fix Plus powder foundation to set the concealer. I have done a lot of experimenting with the under eyes and that’s the best my under eyes have ever looked. I put on eye makeup like you do, I really like your methods. My brows are natural. And last and most important- use setting spray before mascara and spray liberally. I use Surf Proof setting spray from Sephora. The spray tamps down the powdery look and will even hide flaking from retin-a. My makeup is flawless from sun up to sundown! I also live in New Orleans and do a fair amount of running around outside. So hot and humid!

    I've been looking forward to this video all day, Stephanie! I've always applied my pressed IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation quickly in circular motions ala the way I was taught with Bare Minerals loose mineral foundation years ago. It doesn't necessarily look cakey, but it never seems to last all day. Can't wait to try this method tomorrow!

    This is a great technique. I have dry skin and apply my concealer and pressed powder foundation in this exact same way including the setting spray. I have very oily eyelids though, so in addition I apply a neutral eyelid primer/base and set that with some shadow close to my skin color.

    Oh, poor thing- sinus headaches are misery on a stick. Hope you feel better & it's not a cold or infection coming on. Feel better soon♡
    Before I started wearing liquid foundation recently within the last 5-7 years, I wore only powder. I don't think it was powder foundation, just tinted powder. I never liked how drugstore foundation looked or department store foundation felt. But when I got close to 50, powder no longer "cut it" & started looking bad on my now dry skin. But man, it's just so much faster than liquid.

    Honestly, will combo oily skin, you should be able to use the RIGHT powder foundation w/o problems. I understand using a concealer first. I'm 60 and look 40. I use oils before powders. People guess me for 20 years younger. Keep on doing what you do best. I've been blessed with great skin, no real wrinkles but defo fine lines. There's so many ways to make powder work. I don't have texture though. I did inherit great genes and I'm a dermatologist who never had the desire to do youtube or social media. Good luck Stephanie. I really enjoy your youtubes.

    One of the girls at Ulta told me to go ahead and use liquid concealer after powder foundation. I thought she was crazy but it works so great patting it in the way that you do, and I actually feel like it lasts longer than applying it before the powder (I don't set the concealer after when I do this).

    Great tutorial ❤️I do a additional step which is to press my face after the powder foundation application with a damp beauty blender to me it helps bind the foundation with the skin giving a flawless look .. I might also add a finishing powder over the powder foundation just as extra protection against oil on days that I feel extra oily and I press it using a damp beauty blender 😍I use It cosmetics powder foundation or Catrice pressed powder foundation.. I also use a powder undereye concealer from Bare Minerals when I use powder foundation it really helps with the creasing and blends flawlessly with the foundation 😊

    Hi! A powder foundation enthusiast here...can't believe that powder foundations don't have more fans, it is SO easy, two steps in one, and so light on the skin. I love powder foundations! Have you tried the Smashbox photo filter powder foundation? I just bought it and I love it! There are so few reviews about it...it feels very hydrating! I am a sensitive combination skin with some dry patches, so I am not sure it would be good for oily skin. Would love to see some powder foundation gurus reviewing it though :)

    Ok, I'm going back in with the powder foundation... I want to give it yet another shot. I'm going back to the OG mineral powder, Bare Minerals. I just ordered it tonight, now I want it to be here now so I can put it on tomorrow. I watched some videos from Shelby Wilson (I think that's her name?) and she has this buffing, buffing, buffing technique and it just so happens that I have this new fawncy buffing brush from Wayne Goss so I'm going to give it another go. She makes it look so beautiful, like you do, but in a different way. Your method of pushing it into the skin works for me but then it ended up oxidizing and falling apart on me partway through the day. I don't know if it was the powder or the technique, but I'm going to try both techniques with the mineral powder that started them all.

    • @StephanieMarie
      @StephanieMarie  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! I always buff mineral foundation b/c that's the way it fuses with the skin. . Pressed powder, I do the pressing method a bit more b/c it doesn't need to be "one" with the skin quite like mineral foundation. Try different ways with the pressed for sure and see what works for you! What powder foundation have you tried? Love Shelbey!

    Thank you! I'm looking forward to your thoughts on the It powder foundations and I think I'm going to give the Tarte clay powder foundation a shot with some Ulta points I have laying around. I am also going to try my It powder foundation using this technique to see if it makes a difference. Currently, I've been trying it with a big Real Techniques powder brush and swirling it on. It ends up looking cakey and it highlights my pores (now THAT's a winning combo!), I'll see if pressing it on with a more dense brush helps. Maybe it's the product or maybe it's all about the technique, regardless, I want to try the Tarte powder foundation.
    Luke is too funny and cute as always!

    • @StephanieMarie
      @StephanieMarie  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It is oil free and repels water. It's so loved by most people who try it because it's mineral sunscreen based and is good for sensitive skin and prolongs the longevity of makeup and just makes it look really nice. It has silicones but unlike traditional silicone based primers, it doesn't pill or clog pores. It applies like a lotion but settles into the skin almost into a powdery finish. I love the stuff. I think this is my 3rd or 4th bottle.

    I know you can use a setting spray to help with the powdery look. But can you use a shortly damp beauty blender. I mean very slightly damp to help with the area's it looks dry. Do you have one that my work for combo skin?

    • @StephanieMarie
      @StephanieMarie  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      HI! I'm not sure what you're asking exactly? What do you need for combo skin? A technique? This would would work. If you want to try a damp sponge, I'd test in a small section of your powder foundation first to make sure it doesn't affect the texture of the foundation itself. I hope that helps with your question! :)

    I want to try this now. Always thought it was a no no for mature skin. When do you find yourself reaching for powder foundation? Is it more about the overall look or the speed of application? My goal is to look natural and polished (like you) but feel like I'm always adding more of something (usually blush or eyeshadow) until WAY too much time has passed (I love makeup but need to pair down). What advice do you have for someone trying to wean themselves onto a more natural look so it's not a "shock" to them and everybody around them? (I don't want to hear "Are you feeling ok? You look tired!")

    • @StephanieMarie
      @StephanieMarie  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Usually speed and ease are my reasons for using it. Wendy, let me think on that last part a bit. If I don't get back to you in some way, can you nudge me? It's a good question. :)

    Can I still use a cream bronzer over powder foundation? I swear by the Soleil de Chanel Bronzer, I'm really fair and that bronzer is simply the only thing that works out for my skin to "warm it up". I am thinking of buying the MAC studio fix powder foundation.

      I usually don't because I feel like the textures don't usually mix well. BUT there are some creams/liquids that do work well over powder products (like the NARS liquid blushes and Glossier Cloud Paints). You can always try it on a day when you're at home over powder and try tapping it out with either fingers, a barely damp sponge or a brush and seeing if it works!

    Okay, I would like to know how you still look so beautiful on a “sinus headache morning”! I wouldn’t ‘t be allowed on video because of how scary I look! I really enjoy your channel, even though these are 5 years old.

    Can you use a cream blush with powder foundations! Also, is there a trick to that Too Faced brush cause it wants to push in when I use like you show...ugh!!

    • @StephanieMarie
      @StephanieMarie  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You may have gotten a defective brush? Or are you pushing hard? I'm just lightly pressing, not really pushing. But it doesn't twist back in. If it's twisting back in, take it back and exchange it b/c it's not supposed to do that! You can use cream blushes if you've melded the powder product into the skin enough. Having said that, I rarely do b/c I find powder to be a little more seamless with application. Now, Glossier and NARS liquid blushes apply over powders like a dream, so if we're talking those, then go for it!

      Light Medium. If you miss it, you can always see my foundation shades at the bottom of my description box in all my videos. If it's not listed there, there's a link to take you to the full list over on my blog. I got ya covered! 😉

    If you're looking for under-eye setting sans powder, have you tried Mally's Poreless Face Defender? I never actually thought to use it for that, but definitely will try tomorrow! I'll report back, if anyone should be interested. ^__^
