    What are your thoughts on the SeeMo? Are the limitations of 1080p a deal breaker? Is it perfect for you?

      Given the price it seems better to just buy an entry-level monitor, though granted that won't let you record.

      Hello, I just noticed a 4K option to this seemo device. Could this be used in this set up, with no issue? You know like, getting another cable or something. I found the item by clicking the link above to purchase it, and seen the 4K option below in the related items section.

    IOS exclusively, NP battery doesn't charge phone at the same time, unnecessary proprietary cable, and dodgy mount to the camera with added heft of the NP battery mount instead of a removable NP plate so it can be placed anywhere on the camera. So many avoidable misses BUT for the price it is a good start to a product line I hope is innovated on and improved. Sony cams can already avoid 90% of the need of this product with their camera control app on any phone already.

    I'm curious to see how we can incorporate a budget mic to this build.
    In my opinion the camera and the options we now have for the zv E10 make it the perfect "I want to start content creation" camera.

    • @thomasjmcclure
      @thomasjmcclure  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is a cold shoe mount on top of the SeeMo for mounting, would be very high up but would work! And then audio is sent from the mic to the camera, then camera to the phone

    • @nighthawk6468
      @nighthawk6468 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Something like the Hollyland Lark M1 would be perfect for this, it's a super inexpensive dual wireless lav mic kit like the popular Rhode or DJI variants and sounds pretty similar. it just mounts with a cold shoe to the camera and has a trs connector for audio output from the receiver unit. The whole kit is only about $130, compared to the $330 for the DJI kit, that's a steal!

    Congratulations with the channel and coffee shop. I wish you all the best. I am at a loss on how i have to power my zve10 properly. This solution does solves alot of other issues aswell within a compact form factor. I just recently ordered the smallrig 3085 powerbank adapter two days ago, which will provide power to the camera through a dummy battery, but now i came across this product and am thinking about buying this instead (a little pricey imho). Do you leave the original np-fw50 battery in the camera while connecting this npf battery or is that not required (new to this camera stuff, sorry)? Also, when you say it only records in 1080p you are referring to the recording on the second SD card within the SeeMo? Thank you in advance..

    • @thomasjmcclure
      @thomasjmcclure  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cool! Yeah i leave the battery in the camera, and you could still record in 4K in camera if you need to, but the device itself can only capture 1080p. The SeeMo itself doesn’t have an SD card, but it records straight to an iPhone/iPad photos app

    Good video. in moment 06:22 has a little change in color temperature. The seemo record seams a litle cold in the lights in the background while in camera record seams a litle warm. just a litle, almost imperceptible.

      yeah there are some very slight difference, without some intense testing its hard to tell if its color or contrast. it also may have ever so slight dynamic range impact. but for the money, and as a backup to regular recording i think its great

    Couple Questions
    1. Does is have something like a MagSafe charging capability to keep your phone charged also? Can’t imagine the phone battery would last long if recording all day.
    2. Doesn’t the iPhone colours come through the screen a lot more different then say an SLog picture profile? I’d assume this could cause issues with exposure?

    • @thomasjmcclure
      @thomasjmcclure  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As far as i could tell no. It would be great if it did charge your phone though. And colors wise i didn’t notice much, the only thing that looked different was a very very slight change in contrast. But barely noticable

    I undertsand that the product does not allow us to view or externally record 4k to iphone but while the product is connected, can we still record 4k IN THE CAMERA while using this to monitor through the iphone?
    ALSO, is the False colour feature as good and accurate as other monitors like Shogun or Shinobi?

    • @thomasjmcclure
      @thomasjmcclure  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Any top handle that can take a monitor mount on it, the mount that comes with it is a cold shoe so you would need to add a cold shoe mount to the handle. My favorite is the Nitze lil stinger handle. The old version comes with a cold shoe mount

      But wait, from any external monitor I will lost all the info and data provided by the camera such as the aperture, shutter speed, the zebra, the exposure comp. Right? In the other words, i still have to look back to the original monitor to check it out, back and forth 😅

    Does this device also keep your iPhone charged? Pretty sure using my iPhone 12 mini as a monitor will drain my battery so so quickly....
    Also, I want to start doing wedding films, when you say "basically infinite battery life" on the SeeMo, could I shoot for 7/8 hours with one battery?
    This does look like an awesome gadget so I might purchase! :)

    • @thomasjmcclure
      @thomasjmcclure  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Unfortunately i do not believe so, but i may have missed the setting or option for it to do that. I will reach out and ask them.
      The camera can run all day by swapping out the battery on the SeeMo (it would probably take a few batteries to go the whole day like that) but if you take the battery out of the SeeMo, the battery in the camera will continue to run whilst you change the battery on the SeeMo. In that sense your camera can run all day without dying.
      So if you’re recording a ceremony and the battery in the SeeMo dies, you can keep the recording in camera going while changing the SeeMo battery

    • @thomasjmcclure
      @thomasjmcclure  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the ninja V is probably gonna produce a slightly better image, but for 3-4 times the price, also requiring more expensive hard drives etc. i love my ninja V but unfortunately the hdmi port broke recently so i cannot compare at the moment, i think the cost is the main point for the seemo, but if money is no object, then the ninja is probably the way to go
