Win or lose, that Robin was freaking awesome. Going toe-to-toe with the best Mario in the world at a (probably) really hard matchup, utilizing his full toolkit and movement options. Also, that book kill at 9:03 was supposed to be an U-Smash, but it was still hilarious lol

As a Robin main (albeit far below Jul's level of precision), I find his play incredibly interesting: -He's very good at setting up situations with Arcfire, such as at the ledge where he consistently spaces it just right to catch neutral getup, getup attack and jump, leaving him to cover roll. However, I often feel that he fails to capitalise on this; he often lands a side special and that fails to combo it into an aerial which would seem like the obvious move to me (see instances such as 2:04). There's probably a reason for this but giving up on the damage and (in this case) a potential kill seems odd. -He often uses meters to the end of their usage quickly (probable to use them up so they'll start to recharge) but it often seems a tad excessive (see the side special spam of 11:28 or the useless neutral airs throughout). By doing this, Jul might be giving himself an advantage in the future, but Dark Wizzy was often able to capitalise on this in the short term which makes me question this. Mario is a character who relies on upward combos and this allowed Wizzy to heavily punish a Robin without his scariest gimics. Just seems weird to me... -The use of neutral special is especially interesting. The first two charges are spammed with the third being situational and Thoron being altogether ignored. In fact, at one point, he full charges the move, and then hits Mario to the left and fires to the right. Either this was a misinput and he meant to fire to the left, which seems more likely to me, or he intentionally got rid of this, implying that he does not consider it to be usable. I think Jul's an amazing player and these odd strategies stand out to me. I may well be implementing these into my gameplay.
13:35 Elwind running out at that moment is so sad for Juul :( He still had some gas left in the tank for that stock. He probably failed to notice how low it had gone after the last recovery.
I've been playing Robin since Smash 4, but haven't really been trying him out in Ultimate that much. He feels so lackluster in comparison to the better characters. But I have to admit that Juuuul made me want to play Robin again, really good movement and spacing by him, great performance..
Been playing robin from the 4 through ultimate, trust me, robin is a beast when you get in your stride. Many of the most common plays from 4 are gone now, but robin still has plenty of options availible. Still needs a buff or two on arcfire and arcthunder, but robin is definitely no joke.

he is absolutely not the more skilled player. He's playing against one of the best players in the world with a character Wizzy has probably almost never played in ultimate. If juul becomes a problem for players in the future, it'll be interesting to see if he can continue to do well when his opponents understand the matchup more.
I thoguht the same way but I realized by watching the set again that he does it when his opponent is low %s so he can get an advantage and combos going on with the item usage, so he doesnt need the killpower of levin jul is just 3 steps ahead :^)
He does it so he can get the tome to use as combos and killconfirms. Also it's better to purposely use up Levin if you are running low so you can get it back again fully charged especially at low percent
