    2.5 miles is really good flying right over a densely packed area like that. That's all I'd ever ask for. Really liking this drone. I needed to see the results over Urban areas like that. Most range tests seem to be done over the boonies. Thanks. 👍

    2.5 miles is more than enough..Hope this proves to DJI fanboys, that the Evo is 1 serious piece of kit..Love mine its amazing...

    Have both, well had both, Evo is in the shop getting it's oil changed. Occustync has a slight edge over whatever Evo is using, but perform fairly similar. Occustync 2.0 however leaves it in the dust with its use of 5.8ghz so I guess the fanboys win this round.
    FWIW nobody "needs" FHSS tech to fly VLOS in most scenarios, WiFi is usually sufficient. It's certainly nice to have though.

      I agree, 2.0 blows everything out of the water. But i say if you can get 2 miles in the city, thats more than enough. One thing i love with DJI though is constant improvement on their app, and the countless features (plus their active track 2.0 is pretty awesome). Autel's features are very basic at best, and they have no plans of even improving or upgrading it. One reason I'm having on to the evo though is that there is no GEO lock, and higher height limit to help me get past the mountain tops here.

    Actually and I own an autel Evo, the Evo has occusync. That is just a registered trade name that dji uses. What it is frequency hopping from one channel to another when the band gets crowded or interference. The master unit signals the slave to change frequency and or channels. This was a U.S. invention during ww2. And of course the Chinese use it on dji. It is also used in Bluetooth so that WiFi and Bluetooth can come exist. So the autel and dji expensive models both use fhss to go the distance. Love my autel great flight by the way.

      I dont think Autel is gonna go the distance with DJI. I think they're just playing around with drones. They're more of an automobile industry

    I wonder if the engineers who designed the Evo are ex-DJI employees. I see some similarities.

    It is better than a Mavic Air and Mavic! Dji fanboys will try to say it isn't. I owned many DJI products and real recognize real. Sent the Mavic Air back because of the shakes and terrible reception in urban areas. Still have 2 Mavics but im gonna sell one now that I have a Evo. The reception is better than a Air and all most solid as the Mavic.

    • @halohalos

      Same here, prior drones have all been DJI (p3p, p4p, mavic), and I actually never cared about range. But with every one saying the range of the EVO sucks compared to lightbridge and occ, figured i'd give it a test. It would've been nice if I had my Mavic here to test side by side, but either way, 2.5 miles is MOOORE than enough in an urban setting. In fact, after flying this far out, i realized i never flew this far with my previous drones lol. And never will with the evo, unless there's a new drone to test again :) - Thanks for watching

      I got the Ait and returned it due to randomly loosing connection flying over my city. Like 500m distance. But it is said to have been updated I got mine the first month of release.
      I currently use Mavic Pro and the reception is a lot better but I still want to give Autel Evo a go. However Im so done with WIFI if that's what it's using since WIFI in urban areas is just pure shit...
      What about apps and such?
      Like can one do Hyperlapse and stuff like that with the EVO?
      EDIT: does it even work in Europe? I live in Sweden but i am heading over to the states in a few weeks so I could pick and Evo up.
      Im Guessing the Evo is better than Anafi?

    The Evo has a nice camera, but with the drone industry moving so fast, drone manufacturers such as Autel, Parrot, Yuneec and even DJI need to stop using WiFi and start using a more stable transmission system like Ocusync and LightBridge. They keep tweaking the WiFi setup to get much more distance and usability from the aging technology such as higher gain antennae, range extenders, etc. But in the end, it’s still just WiFi.

    • @halohalos
      @halohalos  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it's just the terminology they use. Case in point, I got up to 2.4 urban miles without any issues with the EVO (please see the video). Last time I tried my old mavic in an urban area (not too far from where i shot this video), farthest i got out was probably 1.5-1.25 miles. Granted it's in a different area, but either way, 2.5 trouble free miles is respectable no matter what the company calls it (enhanced wifi, lightbridge, etc). -cheers

    • @gsampl4es
      @gsampl4es 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's not wifi. People like to call it that because it transmits on 2.4 Ghz but it's just transmitting on 2.4, not wifi. Think of a 2.4 Ghz home phone with a lot more power to cover the 2+ mile range.

    • @BTNBx
      @BTNBx 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its WiFi with some tweaking, with a lot of stripping down...

    • @xlDon2lx
      @xlDon2lx 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's WIFI... Occusync & lightbridge is also in the 2.4Ghz frequency yet nobody calls these WIFI...
      And WIFI has 5.8Ghz frequency yet people still call it WIFI.

    • @solen1849
      @solen1849 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Helbert Gascon yes you are correct sir, occusync is wifi, now If autel unlocks their 900 mhz range with firmware that would be really sweet.

      Mavic pros: zoom, better/more flight modes Evo pros: 4k 60fps, built in screen, cheaper, no nfz-software slowdowns. --> really depends on what you're looking for. Can't go wrong with either one!

    • @halohalos
      @halohalos  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Of course there'll be no line skipping or binning, it's the same sensor size as the original mavic. And no need to join, I've been with DJI since the beginning (yes I've had pretty much every drone they released at one point or another). And lets be real, who the heck even flies 3 miles out to shoot drone footage, let alone 6 lol.
      The zoom is cute though lol, and knowing what i know now about the m2p, if i had to pick one now, i would get the zoom. But for those that already have the original mavic or evo, either one is not worth the upgrade IMO. BUt here's to hoping DJI finds a way to fix the 1" sensor issues, and once they do, i'll be the first in line to get it, AGAIN! haha (I"ll have to pass on the zoom though, sorry lol)

    • @halohalos

      Exactly, it's non-sense, at least for me. But i know there are plenty of DJI fanboys hating on the autel evo, so thought I'd play it up a bit with Occustync just to get a rise out of them haha. Don't take it too personal ;)
      And no i don't hate DJI, nor am i an autel fanboy (see a previous vid i did). I'm a neutral 3rd party that like to tease fanboys on both sides of the fence :D
