You and K.R are amazing animators I tried to get into sfm, and still am and it is one of the hardest things I have ever tried But you are right k.r has some of the best detail in his sfms And after this episode I wonder if spy is dead or not
Holy shit. Pyro is a psychotic killer because he watched as his friends dropped to the ground lifeless. He attempted to resurrect them. Now look what he is. You are GREAT. This quarantine we are getting some of the longest and most expected TF2 SFMs of this year, thank you and all the other animations for making this time more enjoyable

I was 8 years, when I watched "Once upon a time in 2fort", it was the best SFM. After 10 years it's still one of the best SFMs. Thank you very much for your SFMs. Take care of yoursels.
@Wazgrel bro dont force yourself to do these animations, of course. i love them, but if u dont feel up to it or you have irl problems, dont force yourself, man ❤❤
Firstly- I know this might get lost in the hundreds of comments, but I simply have to say that this series is incredible. I have no higher praise to give for the atmosphere, the characters, the themes. Every individual part adds up to an entirely beautiful whole. I’d wait 50 years to rewatch and fall in love with the series all over again. The subtle emotion in the faces, the realistic fights and details. You should be damn proud of yourself for this. Legendary series. I’ll watch the next episode no matter what.
I was casualy scrolling through yt recomendations and this PERFECTION showed up. I was waiting for so long... Man you are a true legend. You created one of the best stories in tf2 universe and i loved it. I hope that my humble like and subscription will even in the smallest percent help you with still creating amazing stuff.
I was twelve when i first saw "Once upon a time in 2fort" , as well as discovered saxxy awards, and the vibrant world of SFM with it. Till death do us apart, lil pyro, cult of personality... All these great stories, great animations... Somehow only now did this video show up in my recomendations... And together with watching it, it was as if a wave of nostalgia hit me hard... Vult of personality, has never recieved a propper sendoff... Lots of other creators stopped making videos... Saxxy awards just sort of dissapeared.. and the game itself is dying... And I honestly forgot about you, just assumed that episode 5 would be the last one. I am now 20. And I cannot describe how many feelings this episodes appearance in my feed, has created. Thank you! Thank you for working your ass all these years. And for the fact that you still intend to end it, and make another episode. \ Thank you for the last 7 years, and I hope I'l see your masterpiece in a year or two. Cheers.
So that RED supposedly civilian Spy used to be on Pyro’s team, but quit when Pyro was consumed by the helmet :0 And Pyro, just like Scout, wanted revenge for his dead friends. As someone said in the premiere chat, it’s an endless cycle. Great job on the animation and story! :] You deserve a nice break before starting on the last episode.
I think, that Red Pyro from 2Fort was consumed by the helmet because he wanted to survive. It would be like the Scout, who wanted revenge for his teammates and to survive. And like the new Pryo at the beginning. Scout and the new Pyro’s teams are dead, both left in near death situations. It would make sense yeah? I don’t know why he probably killed Red Spy, maybe it was because he left the team and didn’t help the Pyro, or the 2fort Pyro, Is asking for his help.
@@AngelicN0va261 well the spy knew what the deal was with the helmet, yeah? And from the looks of it he bailed so he could make sure heavy was safe and didn't want to risk it with the pyro since they had the helmet on. Their job was to find and destroy it, but they obviously failed, so the best thing for spy to do would be to just leave. I don't think he killed the red spy, unless you meant the blue one then yeah its about revenge
TAc In a comment I made I thought maybe the 2Fort Pyro was asking the RED Spy and Heavy for help. I also gave my reasoning to why the Pyro seemingly recognized the BLU Spy even though it isn’t the old 2fort spy, it’s a different one.
Ze Docta Is Here Technically, yes, the cycle can be broken but since there is no respawn there are always casualties. And those casualties usually leave a single survivor, possibly more. The RED Team’s mission will most likely to always destroy the helmet while BLU Team’s is unknown. So the cycle will continue for a very long time so long as teams die and a single survivor wishes to survive with the helmet nearby and they know what it does. As far as we know it has only been the new RED team Pyro and a BLU Scout who knew what it does, and wanted to live. I have no clue about what happened to the 2fort RED Pyro before he killed basically all of BLU 2Fort team.
I'm late on the draw, but standing ovation for that crow animation! Birds are often inaccurately animated, but the twitchy little head movements and side hops were spot-on. Very impressive, very creepy.
Thank you, I'm honestly surprised myself that I was able to pull it off at the time. I think owning a parrot and liking birds in general helped me a great deal!
You have my utmost respect for putting this much love, time and dedication into these SFM videos. I've been a huge fan of the series since it's beginning and the fact that it's still continuing after almost 8 years is heartwarming. Thank you...
Im surprised this only took 2.5 years. like no joke stuff like this cant even be made by big production teams in a couple years the story is just mwah and the production is godlike sfm tier.
This was a wonderful episode, it was surely worth the wait. The entire shot of Pyro falling into the blackness was probably the most beautiful shot I've ever seen in a SFM movie. Now I understand why Pyro only took BLU Spy's body with him from the graveyard. His and Scout's stories are not so different. They both lost their team, wanted revenge and became what they are now because of this helmet...
I love demomans reaction to the dead spy on the motorbike. And when he checks the date and there in February. I also love the start when there in the helicopters blasting music, the Vietnam war vibes Edit: keep up the work man I would love to see the next episode
Jesus Chriiist. I've watched a lot of animations. A hell lot of animations. SFM, GMod, etc., and this isn't the first 30 minute masterpiece I've seen. But this tops them all in terms of surrealism, atmosphere building, origin stories, and general **horror**. The surreal imagery was fantastic, and despite not understanding a lot of it, I loved every second of it, from the jagged spikes to the crows, and there were excellent callbacks to the previous episodes. I love the depth you've given each character even with bare minimal voicelines. This surpassed all my expectations by so much. Take your time and rest, you deserved it!
You dont need say worry,we all understand this video and the whole series was a hell of a drain for you,but here we are,for another episode, get time alot so you can prepare the end of the series with ep 7,it was a hell of a journey
I genuinely didn't believe you'd actually finish this, as your description on the last episode made me think that this was another creator who made a project that got out of hand and the fanbase had made them resent having ever made it. Please, please, please, do not let toxic fans force you to rush anything on the last episode. Far too often I've seen creators who have made some fantastic works and have found that they resent what they've made and want it out of their lives because of their fanbase, and it breaks my heart when that happens, because making something like this should be an extension of your personality. It should be a way to see into your mind and experience things that you think about and imagine often enough to be able to animate it. It's fantastic to see you back, and I look forward to your next work. Keep at it.
Here's a summary of the whole video: "It's time to end the cycle." I've been waiting for this for a long time and seeing it with my own eyes right now I can say your works are improving per episode. The ambiance, the shots, the sound and the flow of the story. All of it soothes me. Thank you for your hard word and please take as much time as you need. You don't rush perfection! Again, thank you.
I cant believe i found this.. When i saw Once upon a time in 2Fort ten years ago right when you released it i was 12year old kid who was just amazed by TF2 and animations. Two months ago i had conversation with my old TF2 Buddy about these SFM animations and we loved the one you created... I cant believe you made sequels to the original working on them by yourself for YEARS!.. Anyways i just want to thank YOU! I hope you are well and happy once more thank you for your work. :)
Okay so I just lost my girlfriend yesterday and watching this today made so for 30 minutes I wasn't extremely depressed...i was happy, so much so that a series I thought to be dead just came back swinging...so thank you for this gift.
The darkness/hell kinda scene at 18:12 was the best part of an sfm I've ever seen in my life. The scene, music, theme, its just so perfect, and I love it. Amazing job to you, this needs to earn a Saxxy.
Beautiful... just beautiful. I'm glad to see you are just as talented as ever, K.R. Thanks for making possibly the best SFM drama series ever and we all appreciate the hard work that went toward this episode! It's people like you that make me so proud of this community. The ability to take a few models and project a great standalone story onto them never ceases to amaze me.
I did not realise it has been 2 years since the last episode and I genuinely thought it was the end of the story. But I am so glad you are back and just got to say, your work is amazing, this SFM series is the best I have ever seen.
I am very happy about this premiere. Have been waiting for it since August 2017. Didn't forget about your channel. I hope this series will be good. Don't get sick, and hello to you from Russia 🇷🇺 .
The way you work on the effects, sounds, camera angles, the way the story follows, this is all magic to me. I am a complete fan! I loved this episode with all the dark parts on it and I will waint patiently for the conclusion of this amazing story. Thank you for making this!
This series is better than most movies these days. There's very little dialogue but it speaks volumes. You're already an amazing story writer and animation creator, and I truly hope to one day see titles coming from you that make it on the big screen. You really deserve it. There hasn't been a movie, game or TV show that has brought tears to my eyes in a very long time until this. You've done an amazing job.
I was not expecting this. Honestly i thought you were gonna pull a MiniCorn on us. Man I miss that guy, thank you for doing this. And even if I gotta wait another 2 years for the next installment to this series. ITLL BE WORTH IT.
Man when I saw the name.... first I was like.... This must be a joke? Its like Kitty coming back from dead. I was shocked and surprised. And I'm gonna watch it and enjoy it to the fullest thanks man for the hard work it payed off.
DON'T BE SORRY FOR ANYTHING!!!!!! I thought you were done with this series cause you said it stressed you out and such, if this is just too much for you I understand, but if you do make the last episode then take lots of breaks, find some inspiration, and TAKE. YOUR. TIME. We'll be here no matter how long it takes. You've made something amazing, even if it didn't get the finest of attention. WHICH IT SHOULD HAVE!!!!!! I hope things get better or you in the long run, not just with TH-cam but with life itself. Don't let comments and such pressure you into it, do whatever is better for YOU!!!!
I have even more questions now. Aaaagh, it's so well glued together with the whole other episodes and yet it's so heavy mystery. Goddammit, I hope we don't have to wait another long time to see a continuation xD
It must have been, 3 years ago when I first watched Once Upon a Time in 2fort and then I continued to watch Ghosts of the Past. While this series isn't the reason I started playing TF2, this is one of the reasons why I got more into the game and stayed with it. I bought and still own an Unusual Vintage Tyrolean (Aces High), painted Australium Gold because I love this series so much. I'd say the 2 years wait for this episode was definately worth it. An amazing piece of animation. I don't care how long until the last episode comes out, as long as it does. Take as much time as you need to work on it, I get how strenuous animating can be. Also is that a Jacob's Ladder reference at 25:56? If so, fucking nice.
Holy shit this series is insane. This is the most intense and detailed and organized SFM I’ve ever watched. I wish more people would have seen it, it’s a masterpiece.
This truly is the greatest sfm for *STORY ESPECIALLY* ,drama, emotion. Rarely do I cry or any movie, show, or video make me do so or get emotional. I just adore what you have done, I was so captivated. I wish you the best in life, because you gave me more inspiration for SFM and art. *This whole series and your work is the reason Saxxies should be continued* Just so much soul, heart, time and effort put into this masterpeice. Pop Pop Cheerio!
Rewatched this series, and yep, it is as incredible as I remember. Now with some more knowledge on filmmaking and storytelling as a whole, I can say with certainty that you checked all the boxes for a compelling and masterful tale. These episodes still tear my heart apart; the emotion you convey is visceral at times and I appreciate you immensely for it. I still can’t believe that you created this story and shared it with us here on TH-cam, for free, fully uncertain if you were going to gain the viewer count and recognition you did, and when the views skyrocketed, keep going despite the burnout, stress, and workload. The symbolism, focus on emotional and mental fallout, and film references, remains my favorite key aspects of these videos. I can see the absolute hell you went through to make these as well now: took one look at SFM and noped the hell out. I hope wherever you are and however you’re doing, you remain in good health and happiness. You continue to be one of my major creative inspirations, and still drive me to create as well. Thank you, and have a good one! P.S. Tell your bird I said hi and give ‘em a good ol’ pet.
Hey! Thank you so much for taking your time and sharing how you feel about my videos. I really appreciate your support, and it really means a lot that my content still inspires people all over the world. I'm currently going through my own little OUTI2F experience right now. I live in Kiev, so current events has changed my life in ways that I never thought could happen. And the work that I do right now is taking up all my free time. Maybe some day I will talk about it. In any case, I hope that I can come back to animating soon, finish the series, and continue making smaller videos for years to come. Much love! P.S. My parrot Petrusha says hello! :)
That depiction of death and resurrection in the last half of this episode was, in my opinion, more captivating and thought provoking than most plots of movies nowadays. Really really well done, I love it and it has inspired me in some odd way
God, I just watched through all 5 of the episodes (+ this one) and I have to say, I am more than impressed by the amount of effort put into this, the editing, the cinematics, the way you are able to convey personality through the characters, is so gosh darn impressive, the way the characters move makes them feel alive. And the fact that it's all done in SFM is absolutely astonishing. I am in awe of the way you tell the story throughout the storyline. I am more than excited for the next episode, and I cannot wait to see it.
No one is talking about how at 10:17 , the remaining survivors of blue team are being hunted down by the undead reds and the implication that the soldier and sniper are hunting down the Blu Pilot Pyro.
Thanks to you I want to come back to this game no matter that Valve does not remember about it but the community creates this game, it is unique and can not be replaced by people like you this game is alive you reminded me of my childhood when on my junk computer did not run cool games but Team Fortress so always remember about people like you because it is something amazing and thank you for your contribution to this game :)
I'm here, sitting 5 minutes before the premiere, everyone is so damn hype, missed your stuff, K. I know this is gonna be great! I'll have to give the whole series a watch after this.
I loved every second of this. So much mystery solved, yet with even more questions to think about. You built it up into this incredibly supernatural and sinister climax that then falls off steadily in a still eerie way. Its what i love most about good stories. That transition in atmosphere. You're watching a tense, realistic squad mission and the next thing you know shit goes haywire like Lovecraftian horror. The thought put into it is unreal. Not to mention the sounds, detail, and cinematography! And its all built off of one of the most mysteriously intriguing characters i remember seeing in a SFM film. A massive congratulations and props to what you've done here!
Alright so from watching it all here is my small theory. Im guessing the helmet is like a gate way (what i mean is it makes a accessable road for the crow which seems to the helmets spirit or the devil) now the pyro got back to life because he snag the lifesourse from the sniper that scout killed. For a few seconds we can see red scout being tortured which seems to be a penality of some kind for reviving a dead person. That being said, the person who has control of red pyro seems to be pyro himself considering he saw what is happening to them in "hell" if you will. Also Remember when he said to the group that he found him/them? That might be the heavy and spy we saw drunk at their room. Anyhow this is a great way to tie of some loose ends before the last one comes out :p tip of the hat for you for making this story even more interesting
Aaaahhhhhh!!!! I love your videos! They're so chilling and grimdark, but the story is also really interesting! I love the symbolism and the flow of the story; it's obscure enough to provide that atmosphere of dread, but the scenes flow in such a way that the story makes sense and is still easy to follow! I love how the main antagonist turned from a faceless, unknowable horror into this dynamic character with personality and goals!! I JUST LOVE THIS!!!!
HOLY HELL IN A HANDBASKET!! THAT WAS AWESOME!! I love how you went through the entire past, and explained every detail, every death. And, on top of that, you explained his motives, and the twisted scene explaining the origins of his buddies as well as "The Hellmet" (pun intended) was just as good! And don't even get me started on that whole "sucked to Hell and vomited back up" scene! This stuff is some of the most creative ideas I think I've ever seen in the TF2 Universe, and I can't even describe what an achievement that is. I can't wait for Part VII, but that said PLEASE take your time if it means results like this! Again, I can't tell you how amazing this is! Keep up this phenomenal work!!
Yet here i am watching your series again and again.. we need part 7 this is just too good of a story telling to end like this. Hope you are doing better and hope you continue with this series finale
Hard to believe I've been keeping up with this series for so many years now... You do such an amazing job and somehow manage to outdo yourself every episode. You deserve all the praise :)
THIS IS SUCH A MASTERPIECE I HAVE NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE HOW I ENJOYED EVERY SECOND OF IT. Really looking up to Ep7 and hope that everything in your life will be alright I've been watching this story years ago, not even knowing English that good and now i am here, I can't believe this, it's just so overwhelming You are a great man and i wish you all the luck in the world, thank you for making this amazing story
This series is by far the best SFM series I have ever seen. Really has been quite a long running journey ever since the Once apon a time in 2fort SFM I have been heavily following into this series. The amount of time you've spent to make this amazing series is something that I really admire about you. From story telling, to the characters personality and the scenery to fit the narrative is what I consider this to be one of the best that you, Konstantine, deserve to be remembered by the community because of the hours you've worked on this piece of art and what you have accomplished with this piece of art you have shown to us. Seriously dude, thank you for your hardwork over the years. I really don't know how to describe how happy I am. Please, have a great time and enjoy your break. You deserve it!
even if i been waiting for so long i gotta give you all the respect because all of this is hard to do and i know it is draining for you i seen people who work just as hard as you like that other sfm series i been watching called shattered universe you both share the same fate you guys are amazing at your job
I'm sorry it's taking so long. I couldn't animate due to problems in real life. Right now I found time to actually finish the final episode and have been working on it every day. I will make an announcement on approximate release date with screenshots from the video on April 12th on my Ko-fi page! Stay tuned!
I know this is really hard to make, hell i actually don't know what a pain in the ass this could be, but i just want to let you know that i really enjoy the series, i'm sure everyone does. Looking forward to the last episode! Best of wishes.
As confusing, paradoxical or dark this may be... one thing does not change with your videos and story; the cinematographic quality, man. I watched "Ghosts of the Past" twice. And the constant experimentation you did in every episode makes for great effect variation and makes it all the more captivating. Do not rush yourself with the last episode, we can definitely wait for that and the situation with Russia and Ukraine surely makes it harder for you (your channel info says Ukraine, I think). Take your time and rest and as always, keep going with the amazing work of art, whatever that might be
I was so excited to figure out there were more after watching Once upon a time in 2fort and behind the mask. You really have genuine sense about composing scenes and telling stories.. I really feel sad about scout tho, really wish he somehow survived like pyro did(by seemingly taking the soul of sniper who was killed by scout? maybe scout can take the demoman's with octopus hat) I don't care how long it would take for the next episode. I would definitely come back to watch it
I watched "Once Upon A Time In 2Fort Part 1" ... and I haven't been able to stop watching each following video in a row since. This series, this story, this SFM making, everything, it's absolutely engaging and powerful in just about everyway possible. I can't even begin to imagine the amount of work and passion put into this entire production, especially with everything the world has gone through in the last year. Yet you still create and make such amazing videos continuously. And to think one person has created such a unique animation story telling, that so many people are refreshing your TH-cam page to see when the next one will pop up at the top. I mean, that's what I'll be doing, don't know about anyone else :) But anyways, seriously, I know it's been said many times already throughout the years, and I just joined this party, and I'm already in love with every bit of what you have made here. So for another time again, and it definitely won't be near the last time you see these 2 in your comment section, thank you K.R.
@@Wazgrel Thank you for the :) that's on my face brightly in this moment right now. It's endlessly hard-working creators like you that inspire us, and keep us going too. Together, there's nothing we can't do!
So to be honest, I did not expect a background story of the Pyro, I found it great, of course, now we know at least once how it went out. What I found so interesting about your videos is that after every further episode more and more questions appear where you don't exactly know if there is an answer for this one, for example (is the Blue Scout still alive? ) (what does Pyro have in mind with Spy? ) or ( why did pyro shoot Demoman?). These are some questions that are constantly going through our minds. Very good Work and keep it up for the last Episode. PS: Don't worry that it took a long time, many of us can take it. 😉
Pyro ripped Scout's throat out in 5, so I am pretty sure he's dead, no idea what Pyro wants with Spy, my best guess is revenge for Spy abandoning him, but I aint really sure. As for Demo, either Pyro killed him for his failure, as per Ep 5, or he killed him cuz, as we saw, the RED team's souls seem to be tortured, so maybe killing thim in this Limbo state the Pyro keeps them in frees them, but thats just a guess really. The mysteries KJ creates are amazing and I freaking love it.
@Adrian Sigales You're right about the crow eating helmet victims, but we can see Pyro's team being tortured by some demonic entity as well, so it is probably safe to say Pyro is mercy killing his old team mate. Probably.
This is definitely one of the top tier levels of sfm, the movement, the writing, the expressions, the action, this whole series is just so good! I tip my hat to you sir for your fine story making and sfm skills. 10/10
man i forgot this series existed for a while , and im glad i found it again! what a piece to return to! i jusr ealised i have a whole seres to watch through after exams! should be fun. thx for the content!
Yep. He originally was part of a crack team sent to destroy the Hellmet (as I’m now calling it). However things went wrong and his team died- so in desperation he put on the helmet and used his powers for revenge, just like the Blu Scout did. Except the Blu spy who killed some of his friends escaped...
I just want to say, that this is one of my favorite series on TH-cam, period. It's excellently crafted. The pacing is perfect, the mystery keeps us wanting more, the story is complex and exciting, there is so much storytelling in this. It's all just gorgeous, and I cannot wait for the life of me, to see what happens next. Thank you so much KR, for this absolute masterpiece of creation.
3 years worth the wait. I love how even after 8 years since that first SFM video in this series, he still throws in the Saxxy reference. Iirc, he didn't win for the drama category, and was really bitter about it (at least at first, might not be the case now) which was why Pyro shoved a Saxxy down spy's throat to kill him in OUaTi2F part 2.
It's a miracle. It's an Australian Christmas bloody miracle!

Same
I love it when fan fiction is as good as, if not better than, canon. I don't think anyone was expecting Stanley Kubrick to adapt TF2.
Thank you for the last 7 years, and I hope I'l see your masterpiece in a year or two.
TAc
In a comment I made I thought maybe the 2Fort Pyro was asking the RED Spy and Heavy for help.
I also gave my reasoning to why the Pyro seemingly recognized the BLU Spy even though it isn’t the old 2fort spy, it’s a different one.
If this is endless cycle it means that cycle can be broken! Isn't it?
Ze Docta Is Here
Technically, yes, the cycle can be broken but since there is no respawn there are always casualties.
Did you used mocap in some scenes?
Yes
Obviously
yeah I thnik he did

Wait do we know why he took the Body or just cause he wanted it?
Probably the best Story out of any SFM Artist I've ever seen, I almost cried when I saw "Ghost of the Past - Episode 6" in my subscription box
No words can describe how long I waited for this, this is gonna be epic

WOW, NICE, I WAS WAITING FOR THIS FOR SO LONG NOW! Im sure it will be good as the others episode!
Keep at it.
Here's a summary of the whole video:
"It's time to end the cycle."
I've been waiting for this for a long time and seeing it with my own eyes right now I can say your works are improving per episode. The ambiance, the shots, the sound and the flow of the story. All of it soothes me. Thank you for your hard word and please take as much time as you need. You don't rush perfection! Again, thank you.

P.S. Tell your bird I said hi and give ‘em a good ol’ pet.

i started reading that and i thought it was gonna say "so im sittin here,, barbecue sauce on my tiddies-"

Yep. He originally was part of a crack team sent to destroy the Hellmet (as I’m now calling it). However things went wrong and his team died- so in desperation he put on the helmet and used his powers for revenge, just like the Blu Scout did. Except the Blu spy who killed some of his friends escaped...

It's all just gorgeous, and I cannot wait for the life of me, to see what happens next. Thank you so much KR, for this absolute masterpiece of creation.

I love the detail that you actually recorded all the pyro lines correctly, but muffled, so it wasn't just old pyro lines. Incredibly well done!
I love this tf2 movie.
Imma subscribe you now!
