This sanctuary was just so beautiful indeed. One of our favorite things to do on Koh Samui. We do hope you get the chance to visit there one day. Our hearts just melted when we first met the elephants. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch our video.

What a great treat to see. Y'all got to pet and feed them. Educational also. Keep them coming, carry on 🐘.

Definitely going to Thailand one day. To just live there when I'm old and die amongst these satient beings.

Great to see your video. I live in Chiang Mai and did not know there were other sanctuary in Thailand. I hope tourists go to these places instead of the very cruel elephants riding and show camps.

Did you move to Samui to retire? How was finding a rental there? Please do a video of your new home. We are currently in Texas, but plan to move to Thailand next year.

Thank you so much for taking time to watch and comment. We have not moved to Thailand yet. This trip was to see if it was possible to retire here. This was my husband's first time in Thailand. Of course he fell in Love with Thailand. Hopefully in a few years we plan on retiring here. It's very easy to find rentals. We used Airbnb but recommend using a superhost. We also recommend the Facebook page "Koh Samui House Sell & Rent Free." They are always posting rentals. You could stay at a hotel for a few days and line up a few rentals to view in person to find the one y'all like. Please feel free to reach out again if y'all have any questions we may answer.

@@carry-onliving How did you come to choose Thailand as a possible place to retire?

Well my husband and I met at a Thai Buddhist Temple in San Antonio 22 years ago. I am half Thai and also hold a Thai citizenship. My husband loves the culture, people, and food, so we have been considering Thailand as a place to retire for several years now. This is his first time visiting Thailand and what do you know, he fell in love with Thailand. Now we are traveling around to experience different parts of the country to see where we might want to retire. Thank you for your question.

@@carry-onliving Wow, we are just up the road north of you. Thailand is a really charming place isn’t it? Not to mention the awesome people and food there. I hold a Thai citizenship as well. My husband just applied for the 10 yrs LTR visa. If that one doesn’t get approved, we still have a few other options.

Oh wow! Your Thai too that's awesome. We actually live in Austin and will be heading back soon. Thailand is definitely a charming place and it's going to be tough heading back to TX. We wish your husband all the best on getting his visa approved. I am sure y'all will enjoy your future adventures in Thailand.
