    I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism at 27 and am now 55. I’ve been struggling with my health my entire life. Losing weight is extremely difficult.

    Great chat ladies!
    Also, not affected in Gambia, West Africa. I can eat all the bread and pasta too that I like.
    However, here in the USA I cannot eat gluten.

    Have you even done an interview with Elle Russ? She struggled with Thyroid issues and bad doctors for years. Finally she got smart and even wrote a book about Thyroid issues.

    So my thyroid journey : I have been telling my doc for over a year that I believe my thyroid med isn’t feeling right . Doc ‘s reaction: well we will keep an eye on your blood work it is at a great level so we will watch it. Went to a natural path: She heard me out agreed the thyroid med I am on is not that great and she has better options ….but doesn’t want to to step on the toes of my primary doc.’s prescription (? ) But of course she had a supplement to pair with my med.So it is my body , my symptoms but either one of them want to go forward with my instinct? Thyroid is a master gland but is taken lightly by most professionals. And I consider myself lucky to even have a GP….and she is keto literate. So that’s a good thing ! But in today’s world just deciding to get another Doctor is not an option for me or most people right now. Extreme shortages! So I paid a natural path a lot to be told she won’t step on the toes if my drs prescribed thyroid treatment !? So I am following you guys . I would like to find an iodine literate doc out there. I tried iodine , but I need a coach to see me through it , as it went all haywire because I don’t have the knowledge to reduce my thyroid med along the way. So off iodine for now.

    How about women who have had thyroid surgery? What should they be doing?

      I hope Dr Mindy will address this issue cos I too had a thyroidectomy. I tried carnivore but went into chronic stress. I realise we need some carb for our hormones.

      Yes I also want to know. My doctor gave me radio active iodine which killed my thyroid. I think it is probably similar that having it removed surgically. Maybe just with more complications? Would love to know more.

    I'm concerned about the fluoride in water and bromide used now in breads. They take the place of iodine and the thyroid suffers😢.

    What about Grave’s Disease Hyperthyroidism? So many conversations about the thyroid never speak of this.

      Oh my word yes. I had that when I was 21. I drank radio active iodine which killed my thyroid. 😢 I am now 51 and struggling.

    I’m on 150 mcg’s of Levothyroxin daily and with my Hypothyroidism, menopause and sleep apnea it’s like a triple threat. I’ve not taken any hormone replacement therapy. Do I really need HRT?

    I don't know if they discussed this but a lot of people have switched from iodized salt and are not getting enough iodine anymore

    • @jaym6379
      @jaym6379 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That is an interesting one. Thank you for asking. But isn't the iodine is salt synthetic? Apparently it's not a good quality and hence don't get absorbed. I would also love more info on that.
