This movie was way ahead of it's time. Even in 2023 this movie would have been a huge success. Nice to see Nightwing Dick Grayson in this movie. He beefed up a lot in Titans. When I saw the first time, I was wondering what exactly was going on the whole time until the ending. And then I saw it again for full satisfaction. Experience was outstanding! 10/10

Lots of people saying they wish there was a sequel/explanation, but i think that is the beauty of the endying of this movie. The shear awe of the realization of where he is. And just ending it there

I think a good sequel isn’t possible. The ending leaves so much to yourself and the imagination of what this place is, who the aliens are, what they are doing etc.
Giving too much away would probably make it all seem incomplete and like a let down. As much as I would love to go deeper into the rabbit hole and explore where he is and what is going on, I doubt it could be rightfully done.
@adrianstjrnfldt to say that something is the "spiritual" relative or that some cultural creation is "spiritually" related to something else is not to imply a literal spiritual relation honey. It is a language habit used to imply a similarity of many elements between two things.

The only thing that upset me about the whole movie is how he went days without checking his legs. The second I realized I couldn’t feel them I’d go to look at them.
He has a degenerative disease and dreadedly expected to end up in a wheelchair, so it makes sense that he avoided looking at them after his nightmare came true.

Obviously he might have more trouble than the others but that doesn't guarantee he'll fail, nor do I personally think it means we should stop people from trying. I mean if it becomes a regular issue then someone might have to say something but for all we know the character in the movie could generally be fine but this was a rare instance. It definitely looks frustrating especially since his condition wasn't something he was necessarily born with and appears to be getting progressively worse but overall I just mean I think that still giving people a chance at normalcy is better than no option at all. Of course that depends from person to person and I can imagine for a lot of people it's a very difficult balancing act of having people acknowledge their situation while also not being treated as drastically different from everyone else.

My audio wasn't working correctly, so I tried to watch this recap with subtitles. They didn't make any sense. I'll watch again once I get the audio fixed.

A fantastic movie! Easily exceeded my expectations.
I have said for some time that there is a big difference between good science fiction and cheap science fiction. Good science fiction has many good ideas, and there is no better example of this than The Empire Strikes Back.
On the other hand, cheap science fiction might have just one good idea, which somehow has to keep the audience entertained for the length of the program. So they introduce a mystery early on, drag this mystery out as long as possible, and then finish the show with a big reveal that is supposed to surprise everyone. There are many movies that have followed this pattern, including The Signal, The Vast of the Night, Annihilation, Moon, and maybe to a lesser extent, Primer, Super 8, The Abyss, Another Earth, and Arrival.
The big reveal at the end of The Signal is so brief that if you jut happened to have closed your eyes for a couple then you would have missed it.

Had nothing to do with Area 51. All about aliens abducting humans and putting them through tests and a matrix while being on a space ship/planet eons of light-years away. Would be interesting if they ever made a good sequel of how the hero could possibly escape or launch a Rebellion with the other humans

While I generally liked the movie, let's admit the 'it was all a dream' ending is a pretty classic cop-out. Which is also why there's no sequel. They had no place to go in the beginning other than 'mystery box', and they still have no place to go.
I loved this movie and the music, by Nima Fakhrara, was incredible. The track ''Good Luck'' breaks me up every time.
