NASTY CAR. NO HOSE. A Rinseless Wash technique that works!

- THIS METHOD IS NOT FOR EVERYBODY. 1)If you’re worried about scratching your paint, that’s a good time to stop 2)Your car should have a ceramic coating, Quick Beads or Ceramic Gloss on it to attempt this 3)It takes longer and is a bit more water intensive than your standard Rinseless Wash.
A couple of other things you MIGHT want on hand. A steamer for the rims, the wheel wells and the front grille. And a number of old utility towels to wipe the rims and also the wheel wells at the end. Without a pressure washer, that’s going to be your best bet!
With that said…It’s a very doable way to wash your car, indoors, in winter! No hose required….

I do it like this with detail kegs, or pump sprayers every day in my business. I take the pressure washer out to deep clean rims for a coating and remove mud BUT For this type of stuff it's getting full rinseless - 2 gallons of water and some salsa music in the background! AS always fella's awesome stuff.

Detail keg is a life saver when it comes to rinseless washing.
I'm a maniac when it comes to preventing scratches and even the slightest swirls...and I can vouch for this method being 100% safe. I still always use the pressure washer when I can, but sometimes it just isn't possible (and not everyone has that luxury). I've done this many times on a similar level of dirt/road salt and have never had an issue with it.
exactly! I'm always going to use a pre treat, dwell, and pressure wash when I can before my contact wash. But this method definitely works when that's not an option

Instead of a pump sprayer, this DIY lady uses a SunJoe cordless ‘power’ washer. A bucket of rinseless, it feeds from a hose floating in the bucket. It’s got enough power to blast crud off but it’s gentle and most of all easy. If the car us super dirty I might fill a second bucket, and it’s still pennies compared to a commercial car wash (and better on your paint for sure). You can definitely refine all of the techniques shown by Nick and Yvan (and Sylvie!) and make yourself a super easy and fast home car wash routine.

I picked up some All Clean and the Water Spot remover for the ultimate winter combo!
Used this method just this past weekend. Pre-sprayed with All Clean on the lower panels, then I used Rinseless in the IK Multi Pro 12 sprayer and followed up with a Rinseless contact wash and Ceramic Gloss as a drying aid. Worked wonderfully!

I've been using a manual spray bottle, but with the PSI of this sprayer, I will feel more confident that I get all the dirt and salt off before a contact wash, especially in the winter. Literally was outside doing my truck when this video popped! I drove a little over 500 miles this past weekend and the truck was coated with road treatment stuff. I did pretreat with an APC and then used rinseless wash and your ceramic detail spray and was done in less than 2 hrs and the truck looks great. Nice timing with the video though!

I rinse mine first let it soak with my marolex then go with a wash mitt .then again rinse it then use my blo dryer . And what ever streaks from the mirrors and all that I use 3d bead it up as my drying aid . Comes out perfect and spotless .

Hey bro, I know this is an old video, but I have pretty much most of the DIY line at this point and have mostly phased out the other products except a few I love and you don't have. I was reluctant to use rinseless as a full car wash. Been detailing since the 1990's. On Sunday I foam, rinse, foamed my car. Yesterday, drove 200+ miles (in Florida) and a newly pained area was splattered with bug guts, as was the hood and windshield.I needed to go quick because it was almost dark out. I did rinseless on the front, windshield and hood. Then did a couple other sections just for fun. I may be a convert. I think it took me as long to setup the product as it did to clean what I needed to clean/get bugs off of. What surprised me was the strength. I just made a 2 gallon mix and could easily have done the whole car with it. No need to reply to anything here as I am not asking anything, but clearly, rinseless in way more versitile than though of by myself previously and by some others.

Jay I am in CT as well and this method is great for keeping all that stuff they apply to the roads off the car. I have done our cars multiple times this winter. Since you are not using much water anytime the temp is 45 and up I don't mind doing a car.

@@Ikona731 well I foamed on the rinseless, let it dwell and then used the worx. Did my contact after that with the sponge. Worked out great! Finished off with ceramic gloss.

This process simply works! Yes there may be times when you need a pressure washer for uncoated cars or trucks with mud everywhere. For me polishing is more efficient because there is not water everywhere which requires more time to blow off. Plus the environmental impact is real!

Nice Video, with all the water restrictions happening theses days throughout the summer using less water could mean more work. Even if it means using a bit more waterless wash in the formula and a cordless pressure washer with more PSI should work very well.

Adjust your nozzle on the IK sprayer to a narrow band and you don't have to stand so close to the car and the pressure coming out of the sprayer is better on a narrow band.Instead of waiting to the end for the bottom of the car use a cheap towel

In the winter what I do is hit the touchless car wash in my area, it blows all the heavy stuff off and gets the undercarriage. Then I drive home, pre soak each panel and go to town. No swirls

What if I don't know if my car is ceramic coated? Can I still try this? I should also mention that it's 0F outside so I'm pretty sure the rinseless wash water will just freeze on my panel lol

The one thing I like to do if the car is REALLY dirty is at least rinse off whatever I can with the tools I have. For example, sometimes I only have a garden hose, and other times I can full-on pressure wash the crap off before ONR.

How does the absorbency of towels affect when using ceramic gloss or quick beads as a drying aid? That worries me and that's why I tend to use the same rinseless wash with the ratio of a quick detailer. But then I have to spend some additional time with another step to apply some kind of protection.
That’s a concern for many. A simple way of preventing it, is as soon as your done washing, soak your drying towel in your wash bucket. The surfactants will break down the uncured ceramic.

Instead of sleeping early wake up all night for washing your car , getting late to work next day all that because you don’t want to pay a couple of dollars more!
For some people a clean car is important, and not using a car wash is as important.

I live in south GA and right now we're in pollen season until the first of April. Is it a bad idea to do a rinseless wash with your vehicle covered in pollen or just stick to doing a traditionally bucket wash?
Not a problem, simply pre-soak the pollen with Rinseless.
I have an 08’ Audi S8 V10 ,garage queen , barely driven , so sometimes I can literally do a no touch car wash using a rinse less wash and a vacuum(use as a blower). I use mckees sio2 rinse less but I’m sure they all work well enough.
You can probably do a no touch wash on a dirtier car but you would probably have to do a few more passes, use more solution/water but 100% touchless.
I do rinseless on all 3 of my Audi’s. But on a car that is driven more I do a pretreat-dry-pretreat-rinseless with contact- dry.

@@diydetailofficial when i do the pretreat-dry-pretreat-rinseless method you can’t scratch, in between the dry/ second pre treat you can inspect your paint to see if it’s clean enough to do contact or if if it’s still too dirty. On my 05’ A8 W12 , I had to do two passes of rinseless to get it mostly clean, then I did full rinseless with combination of microfiber towels , chenille wash mitt and big gold sponge( only on flat surfaces). Sometimes it’s so clean , by the time I do rinseless with contact, I wipe and my mitt/towel is actually clean! Lol

Oh that's the real key to cleaning anything steam power. That's why pressure washers need to be made with a steam option. I have one made by hottsy

If the car is coated shouldn't the hydrophobics on the lower panels pop back up after cleaning? Don't get me wrong I prefer rinsless to a traditional soap too but I struggle at that point. Wouldn't a flat panel imply contamination which isn't lifted by the rinseless wash? And can Ceramic Gloss bond properly on that substrate? Nevertheless a nice demonstration what is possible with rinseless and a pump sprayer. Even without a hose or pressure washer. I hope DIY Detail finds it's way over the pond to the EU.
Thank you, hydrophobics are covered by salt accumulation . A quick spray with DIY Detail Water Spot Remover will restore hydrophobics.

With the rinseless Wash so lubricated and sponges soft and damp-can’t be afraid to go over the panel 2 times if you need to. Especially in a “true rinseless” scenario.

DIY Detail Rinse Less Wash
Another method I use that's not quite as good at cleaning (but also much much less effort) is to just go over the car with distilled water in a pump sprayer. It works best if the car is still wet from snow/rain. Takes less than 5 minutes, and distilled water costs less than a buck a gallon.

How does your rinse less compare against the industry standard ONR? Yvan was the face of Optimum and just curious as I am a die hard ONR fan but also a huge Yvan fan as he is promoting this new rinse less product. Does it do everything ONR does like soften water and remove excess off the wash media when dipping back in the bucket?
It does that, and much more.
It cleans the wash media about 100x better than ONR can, even V5.
If yvan is smart he will lead the industry in the rinseless system as the future of mobile detailing changes with water restrictions.

Question about the Ceramic Gloss and drying towels. How do you keep the towels from getting clogged with the Ceramic Gloss? I wash mine after every use with P&S Rags to Riches with warm water and no fabric softener and tumble dry no heat, but seems like my towels still lose some drying ability after 4-5 uses.
Luke, when you’re done washing put your drying towel in your Wash bucket. The surfactants will break down the not yet cured ceramic.

adding Water Spot Remover without a hose is doable, but can be a pain. Basically you would wash first, then spray it on (dwell time and agitation are helpful, but even just spraying on and letting it dwell will have a big impact). After that you just want to flush it off the paint. So if you can flush with your sprayer and you feel like it's completely off the paint, you can go ahead and then dry with either Ceramic Gloss as a drying aid or just the Rinseless Wash on the surface. But it's a pretty wet process to flush off with a sprayer

You would use DIY Detail Incredible Suds if you want to use a foam cannon. With DIY Detail Rinseless Wash there’s no need to have DIY Detail Incredible Suds except for the fun.

Guy's! get a good battery powered backpack sprayer. My My4Sons M4 4 gallon backpack sprayer can get virtually all that salt and dirt off, including the wheels in a matter of a few minutes just by pulling a trigger. I get 100 psi at the nozzle and a vast array of nozzles come free with the sprayer. How is this still such a secret that nobody talks about them on these detailer channels?

Instead of drying the panel after. Wirh a drying towel. Can we blow off the water so it’s 90% dry and then going over with a detail spray and drying aid towel? Or not good With a rinseless? 🤓
Yes, you can absolutely do this, the polymers from our Rinsless Wash provide lubrication even after the solution dries. Definitely a great idea to use the drying aid, though, when you go to dry. You wouldn't want to apply your towel to dry paint, if you can avoid it.You could also apply a few sprays of rinseless to re activate the product and then dry with your towel

A light pre-spray with All Clean, or allow the DIY Detail Rinseless Wash to dwell longer.

Just rinse it out with water when you’re done for the day. If it’s really dirty, pre spray with All Clean, work the solution into the sponge and then rinse! Let air dry and you’re good to go

Nah... I live in a building with no hose because HOA won't provide one in the garage. I've used this method many times I'm about to clean the whole vehicle with 3 gallons of water. I buy distilled water from Walmart. I only need 3 gallons. Sometimes I can get away with only 2
