You pay for top quality work, and it's well worth the wait. The results will be all the more incredible, probably one of the best examples available in the country when done.
The old saying you gets what you pays for comes to mind. Great to see an old classic Ford sorted to Rolls Royce standards. This will be an absolute classic when its finished. Well done to you Rob for restoring this, and to your excellent body work guy. Cheers, Bob
I owned one for 15 years, C950 JGN and god, do I wish I still had it now, regretted ever selling it. She’s still about, absolute credit to the present owner, has had a full nut & bolt rebuild and is absolutely stunning. Fabulous work on this so far Rob, can’t wait to see her when it’s finished, love it 👍🏻
This body/paint pro treats that "old Escort" like it was a brand-new Ferrari...the hallmark of a true craftsman! They say 99.9% of a good paint job is the prep. It's a tedious, dusty, noisy and time-consuming job to take a car down to bare metal, but your guy did it. His body patches/welding are beautiful! I can't wait to see the finished product! I'll bet the paint finish will look like glass, and will look so deep you could almost fall into it.
Hello Rob, how good of you to keep the chap who is doing the bodywork identety private, some respect there! What a wonderful job he is doing with such skills! I am sure you will be very pleased with the final paint finish!! Great to watch! Best wishes from Lincolnshire
Watched every second of this! Top work - Stuart’s passion obviously. Really interested to see how the dashboard is fixed when you get to it. Thanks again.
All the hard work is in the prep, it'll pay in the end when you stand back and look at it, having said that, I can't wait to see it in colour, so hurry up please 😊
Fantastic restoration , probably takes many of us back to our youth that escort, cannot wait to see the next video, fantastic video rob well put together, absolutely well done.
Your friend Stuart has proper maestro hands and skills, I just love watching a true professional plying his trade the top guys make it look so easy, cracking post guys
Keep your Lambos and Ferrari's this is a real Supercar. Proper working class hero. 👍 Stuart did some nice work on it, the Quality of his work speaks for itself. 👍
The original and best RS Turbo,I have some parts but only One brand new bronze top tint blue. One pair of opening quarters (unetched):all complete, rubbers hinges, just a clean and fit, your body man done a pukka job on the metal work and pre, that car should look mint once painted, make sure any holes get waxoyl or that water ingress will start again, nice job.
Love to see that you guys are living up to your name. A lot of people would have walk away from this.... But as you say, it's a classic and needs a bit of TLC. Looking good so far, can't wait for the next vid' Well done.👍👌👍👌
Fabulous work by stuart. His skill set is amazing. Hope he has an apprentice to carry it on. Cant see this kind of work being done on a nissan leaf in 30 years so we have to enjoy it now and relive our youth while we can. Thaks lads. Enjoy the weather!!🌞👍
A true craftsman at work here, superb finish in primer, a dream for the guy who is going to apply the finish coats. I remember these cars from the 80’s. My mate had one and let me driver it, lovely motors. Great content 😎🇬🇧👍
Has Stuart already been on the Salvage Rebuilds attention to detail course , great work from a highly skilled guy , most painters and prep for paint guys can't be bothered putting the time into a job like this , it's going to be a bobbie dazzler when it's all done 😉
Love this, one of the original and proper fast Fords, going to be an outstanding car when finished, loving your attention to detail, and beautiful prep work, looking forward to seeing more progress
Probably my favourite car of all time. I wish I'd kept my 1986 c plate custom pack. But theye where infamous for being a death trap, saw a few wrapped around trees. Torque Steer was horrendous, it would pull one way, you'd compensate by steering the opposite direction then hit a bump and head off across the road... Still it was the love of my life at one time. That dashboard brings back memories...
Rob no wonder you waited so long for this guy to do the body work on this fabulous little motor, his workmanship is second to none 😊 love all of the early fast ford's. It takes me back to the favourite decade of my life, the music, cars, fashion and happy life was brilliant. Can't wait to see it all done 🙌 it was a lovely surprise video again fellas, take care and stay lucky and healthy looking forward to Saturday's video 📹 already 😊 ✨.
I'd forgotten about this escort. Nice to see progress. What a great job and it's good to respect his wish not to be on camera. In the eighties, the company where I worked hired a software company and one of the directors had one of these. We used to go out in it at lunchtime looking for real ale pubs. Tough job but someone had to do it 😊. I remember the suspension being rock hard but it went like stink. He swopped the escort for a sapphire cosworth which was also a great car and he took me with him to watch the RAC rally on a number of occasions when it was a proper rally. Brilliant memories of great times. 😃😃👍
You're taking us on the journey of a classic quality rebuild, totally worth the video, you can't skimp on quality workmanship but you already know that!
Stuart is the right man for the job, The fact that they restore these cars 'day in day out' just shows in the standard of the work so far. I will admit that I thought this might have been put in your garage and left as you are so busy with your normal work but I am glad you found a way to get it done. The dashboard is in good condition and will be worth saving. Thanks for the video Rob and Chris have a good rest of the week. 👍👍
Ohhhh wow unbelievably amazing can’t believe how nice it looking well nice and ready we’ll done guys looking forward to seeing this one done and rolling on the road 👊🏻👊🏻😁😁
These guys that have the skill set to repair these old classics to what will be show room condition are real artisans. What a job. So glad you had the pictures as he progressed.
This is going to look brand new when it's done. Stuart is a bodywork genius, props to him. This will be worth serious money when finished, I'd want to keep it 100 percent. Old Fords that I've had, (76 mark 2 Escort, 68 mark 1 Escort to name two) and I see what they fetch now is just mind boggling, and I so wish that I had them. Fantastic video as usual guys.
I’ve only just watched the video on the Ford Escort, a paint job looks amazing. It should look amazing once it’s finished all back together good work guys
Rob you can’t go wrong with a classic Ford build - and so near to Essex too! Can’t wait to see this one come alive! 🤣😂 thank you Rob & Chris for agreeing to spend the wonga on it. 👍
Hello Rob and Chris, Stuart (or Stewart) is one skilled guy. The car will look great when it is finished. Looking forward to the next video. Thank you for taking the time to upload another video. Ged
Very interesting content , great to see the body work being done properly ..we need more like this Rob .. can't wait to see the next step. It's going to be a stunner..
Have to admit I had foregotton about this one! That was real labour of love by your guy but he made a cracking of job of it ready for the paint which I'm sure will be to the usual top notch standard! Its what we have come to expect from SRUK!
KEEPER ! It’ll turn more heads than the Lambo !…(As lovely as it was) Owned a few of these “back in the day” when I was in the trade. Wonderful memories, wishing you many years of fun and pleasure in this beauty !
This car is deffo going to be a show winner when finished . I mean it looks better than most now in primer . Looking forward to seeing future videos on it . Fantastic .
wow what top quality this is,thoroughly enjoyed this upload it really is great content thankyou gentlemen,,looking forward to any progress being posted,,,👍👌
It is a dream of mine to own one of these fully restored. My series two was an awesome car back in 1997, it was heavily modified, lowered /207bhp /retro fitted ABS, massive seam welded exhaust /and fully dynomatted throughout for the bangin sound system. But the series one was always the better looking car, miles apart from the XR3i, I would love a series one, and a Mallard Green Escort Cosworth Lux. It is okay to dream isn't it.
Takes me back to my early days at Halewood ,first job was interior sealer followed by tack cloth of one side of the car , the new robot ester paint booths where just going in for this model run out ,bit of nostolgia
Another great video, I’m from Ireland and watch all the videos, I did a full bare metal paint job on my 1972 Mercedes W108 which was bought new by its owner from Tonbridge Wells, and it turned out unbelievable good.
That looks amazing. I can see you are so chuffed at it. Looking forward to the next vid no matter how short or long it's great to see the RS being brought back to great condition.
wow, the car is really solid for a 40 year old escort, the body guy is doing a top job the car will be better than when it left fords when it is finished, my first car was an 81 mk3 and it was a similar colour to the etch primer ford called it dove grey , cant wait to see it painted , its going to be a cracker 👍
Stewart is well clever with bodywork. He is the doctor of bodywork. Brilliant.
Now we’re talking, proper motor retros from my youth, can’t wait to see this completed.
No apologies needed Rob, he's done an amazing job, a true craftsmans workmanship. Wait till its painted, you'll be like a kid at Christmas time.
Some people are tremendously gifted. Fantastic craftsmanship. Thank you for sharing.
You pay for top quality work, and it's well worth the wait. The results will be all the more incredible, probably one of the best examples available in the country when done.
Amazing craftsmanship.
That car is going to be amazing when it's finished.
Can't wait.
Can’t wait to see this one painted. Bodywork is so good, after seeing it in the first video on the truck it’s amazing.
Bodywork being done properly is an absolute artform. Once painted it'll look beter than new.
Not even an RS Turbo fan, but that work is top drawer. Lovely. That fella will be fascinating when he comes out of his shell and gets on camera 😀
The old saying you gets what you pays for comes to mind. Great to see an old classic Ford sorted to Rolls Royce standards. This will be an absolute classic when its finished.
Well done to you Rob for restoring this, and to your excellent body work guy.
Cheers, Bob
Congrats to Stuart to his attention to detail, thanks Rob for the narration and camera work 👍
That body guy is a genius like Chris. Fantastic repairs and cant wait to see the series 1 finished.
I owned one for 15 years, C950 JGN and god, do I wish I still had it now, regretted ever selling it. She’s still about, absolute credit to the present owner, has had a full nut & bolt rebuild and is absolutely stunning. Love it mate. I wish I could afford to give this detail to my landy. Great job.

Perfection can not be rushed
What a top car that is going to be. I love how much respect you have for other craftsmen, leaving him to it and not putting any pressure on him.
Was well excited to see this S1 video and cannot wait for next video. Body repair work looks top notch 👍
Hi rob , Stewart done a great job lot of hard work, can't wait till its done, from marty in Belfast northern Ireland God bless

What an absolute labour of love Rob, she's already a stunner. A real artiest at work. Can't wait to see her finished.
no worries about not showing the body guy, great video and fantastic to see the progress!
Hello Rob, how good of you to keep the chap who is doing the bodywork identety private, some respect there! What a wonderful job he is doing with such skills! I am sure you will be very pleased with the final paint finish!! Great to watch! Best wishes from Lincolnshire
Brings back so many memories, a late friend of mine owned one. The series 1 just signified the eighties.
