Where I come from, when I was in middle school we had a Simplex system with true alert horn/strobes that were on continuous and a Bogen Multicom 2000 overhead intercom system with very many unique tones.

The purpose of a drill is to practice procedures in the event of a real fire. Announcing a drill beforehand isn't going to get the same result and action. You can't plan a fire, so drills should always be unannounced.
Your fire alarms are so much more calm than ours at my old school. We had white EST Genesis' and they basically destroy our ears when it went off. I'm used to it now, since I had to go through many times for many years. (8 years for me).
My days in school I went to 4 schools. 2 of them had single stroke bells one had scoreboard sound horns and my high school had rst integrity horn strobes in the horns were that loud. I disagree with horn strobes in the restrooms.

Thursday September 8th Wednesday October 19th Thursday November 10th Tuesday December 13th Monday January 9th (SAWDUST IN THE WOOD SHOPPE SET IT OFF) We had a Hold Drill and that was on Thursday January 19th (Thats where a cop comes in with a dog and sniffs lockers) Thursday February 23rd Wednesday March 29th Friday April 21st (Tornado) Friday May 12th (Lockdown)
I had a Fire Drill on Friday, June 3rd, 2022 after I left for work. Good Riddance I got out and onto the van as it drove away from the School so that way I don’t have to evacuate at all because it was my last one for the rest of my final year in High School

Welp if there were to be a real emergency people wouldn’t be alarmed if they announce drills constantly that’s why my school always just lets it go off randomly without warning cuz real emergencies aren’t announced so therefore fire drills shouldn’t be announced anymore since the kids wouldn’t be taking them seriously if there were to be a real fire
Well they shouldn’t really announce a fire drill because students don’t take it seriously when they announce drills as they should be during a real emergency but when they continuously announce the drills students wouldn’t be surprised if there were to be a real emergency situation

My school has the EST Genesis alarms and they are calm for me, the loudest alarm is the Spectralert P2R
