    Vernon, Elvis's finance manager and father, must have freaked out when his son would go on shopping sprees. Vernon Presley was old school, he was about saving money. Elvis's spending was non stop. He was exceptionally generous to the Thompson family. I've been a rock solid Elvis fan for 44 years. Elvis was the most generous celebrity that ever lived. Elvis was very special individual. Gosh I miss him.

I’m so glad Linda has a brother to give her moral support and keep her with live abc care around her. He’s certainly a well grounded man. Both are.

    Absolutely fantastic interview Steve, thankyou, enjoyed that so much, can't wait for part 2. I thought Sam was lovely, so honest, humble, grateful. He spoke so highly of Elvis as many many people did and still do, he shed some light on the rumours about Elvis was tired of being Elvis and the fact that Elvis kept going for his fans. How humble of Elvis, Elvis never forgot his fans and we his fans WILL NEVER FORGET ELVIS. It's almost like when someone does something so special for you because they want to, not because they have to, you never forget that. Elvis done something for the millions of his FANS the world over, he gave us his HEART, HIS MUSIC, HIS HAPPINESS and SADNESS, he gave us ELVIS PRESLEY, he have us the MAN. How many artists can you think of from the same era as Elvis that are still spoken about and adored the way Elvis is, the answer is NONE. There will never ever be another artist past or present that will have the same respect that Elvis has by his fans and other artists, why because Elvis was the most generous, kind, caring, individual that has or will ever walk this earth. His generosity, there are no words to describe that. Yes Elvis did a lot of giving to different charities while he was a live, yes it was reported in the papers, but how much did Elvis give, who did he give to the money, cars, houses, jewelery etc he gave that he didn't want to be reported on. He was is and always be the one and only ELVIS PRESLEY, ONE IN A MILLION. Hi to all, I hope everyone is safe and well. Steve can't wait to tune in on Sunday jackie xxxx

    I really enjoyed that. He seems like a nice bloke. Promised Land is not a bad song to hear first up and at Stax.... whoever wrote that song must have been pretty goode. I found what he said about Elvis needing him in 76 quite interesting. When Sam mentioned artists and fame at the end I thought of the Oscar Wilde quote "There is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about." I look forward to the sequel.

    What an Excellant interview! I like both Sam and Linda who sincerely cared about Elvis. Both very intelligent too. The bit about Elvis saying to Sam "but people wont recognise me if I go out in disguise" made me laugh. It also reminds me of something that Linda said in her book... One night Elvis and Linda was walking to the Memphian when they crossed paths with a couple walking down down the street at the same time. The girl said "OMG you look just like Elvis Presley". Elvis stopped and said "Well honey I am." She said "OMG thats impossible you can't be". Elvis turned to Linda and said "Honey tell this girl who I am. Honey tell her, tell her"..
    Linda replies "You're not pulling that Elvis Presley crap again are you Charlie?" Linda said to the girl "He gets this Elvis Presley thing all the time." "Come on Charlie let's go". Elvis said "No, no, I want her to know its me. Tell her!" Then both Linda and Elvis started laughing. Linda admitted to the girl "Yeah it is Elvis!" ... The point being is .. Elvis wanted people to know he was Elvis !

    This interview only confirms what 99% of people say that got to know Elvis on a personal level. He never took his popularity and success for granted and never thought he was better than anyone else and was the most generous of all celebrities and did so much for people who had nothing and never expected anything in return. He had so much respect for.his parents and particularly his Mom. The world lost him much too soon. I am so grateful that I got to see him in concert in Las Vegas at the Hilton during his first tour there and I'm now 74 yrs. old and other than family it was the highlight of my life and I saw numerous celebrities in my 20's and no one could come close to his talent, his generosity and his handsome good looks and most importantly, his genuine relationship with God. We lost him far too soon. I resent that the Colonel prevented him from appearing in countries throughout the world because the Colonel had legal issues that would have prevented him (the Colonel) from re-entering the U S. if he went abroad.

    Steve this is a question I wish you could have asked Sam I dont know if you know this but there is a lot of controversy to whether that National Enquirer picture was actually a picture of Elvis as he appeared in 1977.There is a guy here goes by the name of Spa Guy he says he thinks the picture is fake he had examined the camera.He says he doesn't think that camera could take that picture.He thinks Mann took the picture but it didn't come out and the National Enquirer fixed it up.Just been bugging me for the longest time.

    This Sam is a good guy. Reportedly, his sister was having a fling with David Briggs just before they broke up. I am sure if Elvis had found out, there would have been a big issue between Elvis and Briggs. I do not think SamThompson was aware of all of Elvis' medical conditions and why he took prescription meds for them.I just believe Elvis carefully chose whom to discuss such personal things..as we all do .All Sam would know is gossip and casual observation without knowing the reality..Appearances can often deceive.Ask two people to describe a robber, and the descriptions will be different and neither possibly accurate. I hope you asked him what Elvis' personality was like in the last few months.I maintain he was always positive and fun loving..even during his devastating illnesses (Marianne Cocke revelation) and that he was not a recluse in a negative way.As Ginger says, he had everything he needed in his quarters and did leave it from time to time. Mostly, friends always came to see him. Elvis had mostly ups with some downs.Why would we expect those to be different for him when most of us experience life the same way? Next, after your excellent interviews with Sam, please try to interview Dean Nichopolous who woll have a different perspective that Sam was not priviledged to..both men are honest, likable, forthright, and a good friend to Elvis both whom he trusted. Dean is one of only one of ten men on a commerative marker at Graceland, showing Elvis' trust and love for them and Dean. Another great interview would be the famous, grammy winning country singer T.G. Shepherd who hosts and Elvis show on Fridays on Elvis Sirius radio.He knew Elvis at age 16. He lived at Graceland.Elvis bought him a tour bus. He last saw Elvis on the day he died. Elvis is his idol and he has a great tribute song to Elvis.

      I agree with you when you say " ask two different persons the same question and they'll both give you a different answer"!
      It's so hard to believe one more than the other, in Elvis's case, because so many lies have been said since his death, so we just do not know who's telling the truth anymore. I always say "we weren't there and Elvis isn't here to say what happened so we won't ever know THE truth!!"

    • @margarettaylor8107
      @margarettaylor8107 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vilmamoro1809 Vilma, I believe Elvis.He was known to be a very honest man.Gordon Stoker, who knew him from the onset, says he never ever knew Elvis to even tell a white lie. Everybody who knew him said he was very pious and Christian.He believed in the Bible and tried to follow its teachings.Except for his womanizing, he probably led a near spotless life.He got on his knees often, praying to our Lord. Elvis owed no explanation to anybody why he did what he did. It was his priviledge to tell them.And mostly he did not.so they assumed and never gave Elvis the benefit of the doubt.They assumed the worst. Dean Nicopolous, his security guard, said he never once saw Elvis messed up. He said he played hard racket ball with Elvis and Elvis could not have done that if he were messed up. Most of the others inhis group benefited by telling lies about Elvis.They lost their way of earning money so they kept on earning money by telling lies in books and interviews. Elvis knew what they were like as people and kept them employed because he forgave them.The truth about Elvis is so hard to get out because so many people have bought into the lies with so little evidence. I am an Elvis fan.I trust in his honesty and goodness.Gordon Soker and Ray Walker, backup singers, so Elvis was just too good for his own well being. They say his goodness killed him. Have you read Sally Hoedel's Destined to Die Young? Or watched her interview? Go to Globetrotting with Trey and watch her amazing interview. You will be a believer in Elvis with no doubt left . He was one of the great men.

    Elvis is DEAD for over 40 years! Pricilla has made a lifetime money system out of it even thou Elvis wrote that she is NOT to use the Presley name or estate! Elvis WILL states this!

      He did not have the authority to put any such thing in his will. Some people claim it was the divorce decree but so far no one has ever had the proof. It was her legal name so she had every right to use it
