I created the Vaniverse Gaming Channel in 2014 because I was having trouble figuring out how to do something in Elder Scrolls Online. I decided to make my first How to Guide on Lockpicking, and really enjoyed the experience.

What do you mean? What type of mistake can you make that would require a reset?
One suggestion is instead of a sword is to start with daggers, especially early on as bleed wrecks things at lower levels

This game is unforgiving but I love it
I joined a server with sandstorms enabled and one started before I got a base up. Died 4 times before It passed over me. Was upset to say the least

Technical term for that would be - acrostic. You could use that snippet to sound smart once every 10 years or so.

One thing needed to know that's not mentioned... When eating food, only eat one at a time, let the regeneration process finish, then eat again, repeat.
I wasted alot of food early eating 10 or more at a time thinking my health would rise more. NOT SO!!! You get the same amount of regeneration whether u eat 1 or 20 food. So keep this in mind.
Certain foods will raise your health more than others, but eating more than one at a time WILL NOT raise your health more or faster.

You can also harvest your own corpse when you go to pick up your items

Same, I've shared to my friends. We have a small group of 5 and intend to get a private server. Just waiting on PS.
IMO, the most import starting attribute is GRIT. I have tried every combination of attribute building, and found getting Grit to 10 ASAP makes the most difference. Sprinting and not running out of Stamina are vital to leveling.

Hey buddy! I just came back to Conan after a long hiatus. I wanted to see if I could still build a Horizontal Elevator across the watering hole with the Tripple scull Gator (the spot you like to build your main base) and I forgot how to do. Episode #6 shows the correct method on how to make the bridge and it STILL WORKS! Old video still has solid content. Please do a revamped version of this guide please. I know how to play personally; however, your amazing at making videos. Id love to see an updated beginners guide :) please do it!

RationalDrift yea I was the same way but this game doesn’t have a main objective/story your only job is to survive and these play throughs are just to help you learn the best ways to start out the game gets a lot more fun once your able to build cool bases and do more things you’ll get it after a while

this game looks great, I love how it has a lot of the things I like from Minecraft + the Conan world which I am familiar with from the original short stories. This is worth getting a new console for in my opinion.

I'm hoping the game improves on the console port the menus are a pain to navigate and its difficult to see what you're doing because of how small the UI is

the UI on console is absolutely nightmarish and even more so if you're from ark, this UI needs major quality of life updates- the UI changes depending on if you have the box opened or not, it is just all fucking over the place with what button does what in the menus
theres no way to not be confused with it it just takes a shit ton of time to adapt to
I like that chest idea that is smart and having a chest right as you walking into the fort so people think your a new person and not thinking that you could get loots. Great video and very helpful!

it is really hit or miss depending on if you play on console or PC, which server, etc. I play on PC, and go around server to server and try and fight an NPC. if they are not reactive, I move to the next one until I find ones that are. Cheers!

Just started this game and played for about three straight hours. Keep in mind I'm basically addicted to Battle Royale games and play that only. I really like this game. It took a while for me to get started and figure out the crafting and all that. I just built my first house and whatnot.

Hey Van! I think you should recreate this guide, it has been updated yet again and there's so much more to do in the boss areas. I.e., there's extra boss fights in the dregs, a giant lizard, and a giant spider, and supposedly a third one on time of the abyssal creature, with 3 skeleton key chests in his pit after you beat him. Your initial videos in the guide have helped me tons! But I'm sure an update would help even more!

You did say that you can be raided only from 5pm till 11pm so when you build in certain areas you wont get raided. But you forget to explain why.

All depends in the server settings for the purge or if the purge is off even.. If you play singleplayer or running your own server you need to do custom settings and you can adjust everything

Hey dude great video. Can you please do a video explaining the combat mechanics? As a new player it seems unintuitive on the PC.
scott spears have always been beast but with the new effects like cripple and bleeds it’s become more involved. Daggers give bleeds and is great to keep your opponent from healing behind a shield
Also me personally I prefer medium armor for rolls over heavy armor but I play solo in a group play I could see a heavy armor/high vit/ shield tank being viable.

Game's great, played it for a year and love it. However I won't be going back to it anytime soon cause of the very low decay times for buildings. That being said, great work man, this would be very helpful for new players. Highly recommend this.
Can you help? im on ps4 and when i try to cook on a camp/bonfire it doesnt let me press the arrow to start cooking, i put wood in the top and the meat in the row as the video but no arrow

you can dodge roll behind shielded enemies and kill them that way.
Enemy archers have 99% accuracy and never run out of ammo
@@azadalamiq Not if you cant. Heavy armour changes the move set to a crappy scoot move thing & you dont even scoot that far. At least I assume its the heavy armour because I could roll till I put 1 piece of heavy on rest was medium & 1 light.
So I started this game a couple of days ago and watched this video last night while between various characters in ESO. So my methodology for building is (because I'm only in SP mode) to construct Waystations with a fire and a box everywhere. The box isn't really neccesary but I'm sort of lazy ;). Thank you for the hint about daggers, the daggers are pretty much better than the larger weapons even in a straight out fight, due to speed. Also thank you for the hint regards burning wood/branches and cooking feral meat. I went by the pictures and didn't realise that they didn't cover it all.
I have discovered that wherever you build a shelter it will clear the space once you leave the locality and come back, so you don't want to do one of the things I did and build a shelter plus forge next to a resource node - it doesn't re-spawn. Once I realised that I shifted it about "30 feet" away it it worked fine.

Well in two ways. Knowing that I was going to eventually have to take off tge kiddie wheels and go to the online, I decided to look at how the pikes worked. They're not as fast as knives but they bleed opponents too and can stagger them with three heavy strikes. The light strikes are all sweeps good for engaging multiple opponents. That being said, it's not the sort of item to fight a Tiger with, unless you're wearing better than Medium Armour. I wasn't ;).
Having read most of the books i am real interested to see. what they do with the hyborian age. I understand online multiplayer need for character creation. But i see no reason solo play not allowing you to be conan. The concept of playing a conan game that doesn't let you be conan. Seems odd.
Yeah I suppose. However this is Funcom and you could not be Conan in Age of Conan either. You can wear his armor and use his sword. You can also run into him in the game as well. Cheers!
It's because in the game you will meet Conan.
Yeah i tried to do the mmo way back when. And my pc couldn't handle it. So never got to play it. I could even understand if you could be a member of his free company or your story is tied into what he does at that stage of his life. In my experience survival games tend to be low on story. So it seems like they bought the rights to make a conan game. Just so he can free you at the first. All that being said going to buy it today.
The_Peasant then hyborian age would be as accurate to a fan of that particular setting without implying its a Conan game. But then we wouldn't have the opening scene or a conversation in a bar.
The_Peasant. Yeah but thats the point. If not a conan fan you wouldn't have an interest in his setting to begin with. Would have to be cheaper to make a generic sword and sorcery setting. Without an established lore. That lorebeards will be picking through looking for mistakes. Don't get me wrong though. I'm not saying you shouldn't call it conan. Just that in single player mode you might give the players a choice to play as the character whose name is in the title. Now online multiplayer. You obviously can't have 50 identical dudes running
around named conan. Far as the marketing goes i think it worked...maybe better than they had planned. Got my copy 1st or 2nd day after release and gamestop guy said he only had 2 ps4 copies. Hadn't planned on it being as big of a seller as it ended up being. Got to like that. The more interest the more work will continue to go into it.

Can you do a guide for Thralls? Specifically how to knock the different types out? Been trying to knock out an archer for a while now, and she just keeps killing me. What am I missing? I have the truncheon and a bone shield (and upgraded light armor). I close the distance so she puts away her bow, and I let her hit my shield with her melee attack. And by the time I can hit her once, she's already doing a 3 hit combo that takes off most of my health. And the damn truncheon combo takes so long to pull off, I end up missing most of my strikes anyways. And I'm locked on! Do I just need better gear? Or am I doing it wrong? Any tips or tricks would be appreciated.
Best way to knock out high level npcs is with a steel truncheon. With a stud upgrade. Or me personally I use a bow with blunt stud upgrade and the blunt arrows. Right click is best I think especially with bow left click will kill the thrall. Just dodge and stay away from the attacks at low levels. GG
What Thad said. Their are three tiers of Truncheons. Each tier comes with a new wheel of pain. Lesser, Regular and Greater. If you are trying to knock out a NPC with a II, III next to their name with a tier one truncheon you are going to get owned :) If you are hitting a level 1 NPC with a level one truncheon then you need to get used to the swing of the truncheon. Wait for the npc to do his chain then attack with the truncheon. If you connect it will stutter them so they cant attack. if you miss then they can do anther combo on you. Last tip, there is a Perk under the strength Attributes that allows you to do more damage with a truncheon. essentially allowing you to knock out higher level thralls with a lower level truncheon. Hoep this helps. I will add this to my list to make a video on. Cheers!
Thanks guys! Turns out it's probably the strength perk, I'm a complete noob, so I hadn't put any points into it yet. I figure once I get the perk I'll be all set, and it's great to hear there are some other options later as far as arrows etc. A video on how to counter their weapons/combos would still be great tho. So basically it's a bad idea to try and capture lvl 2 or 3 Thralls with the tier 1 truncheon? I made my primary base in the middle part of the map because of it's proximity to iron so there's lvl 2-3 human enemies when I spot camps.
not a bad Idea, just harder. Get the first perk of STR to get concussion +100%

So i started playing this game without watching or reading anything about it. I thought it was like the original Conan game from years ago.
10 minutes into the game i made it to the water butt-naked with no weapons and rage quit after dying 8 times in a row.
So now i am watching these videos because when i go back those 2 dudes by the water are going down!!

New player guide only works for single player as currently unless you work nights you will never get into an official server 😔. If you have friends forget playing together 😂😂. Great game full of potential but full of bugs and as I said not enough servers to get on. Let alone getting on the same server with friends.
I totally agree with you that the current system is broken. However, if you cant beat them join them. Based on my findings you can stay logged in you will not be kicked for 24 hours. So log on in the morning and stay online. you do not have to move or anything just stand there and die, and respawn over and over. Until the put an AFK kick system in the game this is the best strategy to ensure you get to play during peak times. You didn't hear it from me....

I just got this game. You helped a lot I can survive for more than 5 minutes now lol but I should I play online right away or do I need to play solo first?
You can do either. However, on a PvP server people will probably take advantage of you being new. Perhaps play on a PvE server if you do not want to lose your stuff. Cheers!

Only if you are not going to be on during the raid time. Otherwise you can leave your stuff in the top chest if raid times are not currently going on as no one can damage you building. However, I am not sure if the changed it to where nothing can damage your base. In the past I could aggro an elephant and climb on top of a base and the elephant would destroy it for me. SO if you want to be super cautious then always when you log out for the night.

Ark works just fine for me but unless you want to play on a single player server, official servers have people who have been playing for the longest time and if they see you they will wipe you for the most part almost completely preventing progression.

I've been through your videos and I am not sure if it's something they added after these videos, but that place you like to set up is a death trap. No cover from the environment so you either freeze to death or eat a crap ton of food. At least on the ps4 version.
It has been 10 months since this video was created. They have added some stuff to make it a bit more challenging. However, you should be able to survive with basic light armor and walls and a roof. Cheers!
Yeah, I've been messing with it and at that altitude they want you to put insulated walls to get environment protection.

It's a bit weird it you quickly get used to it
When it comes to movement and combat they feel fine. But when it comes to crafting and inventory management it's definitely gets tedious with a controller.

ishmael arc It's a "survival" game and you're expecting health to recover on its own *facepalm* you've been playing far too many Call of Duty games, boy
it does but you have to spec into a lot of vitality for it to regen
food regen does not stack, you cant eat and forget to regen health,it will waste it for that, you have to eat it slowly
