That was fun seeing the real train. The inside of the cab is just as impressive as the outside so happy they let you video that. Thanks for sharing made my day. GOD BLESS from America 🚂💕🚂💕🚂💕🚂💕🚂💕
Fantastic video as always, i remember riding behind Sir Nigel on the Severn Valley railway going on 12 years ago or so now. So got to experience the power from a passenger's point of view. In fact my other half is a distant relative to the head engineer at Doncaster works who was the one responsible for the thumb print behind the chimney.
A terrific locomotive and the last of the 6 remaining A4s still in steam at the moment, such a wonderful sight in its BR blue livery with the LNER teaks and with the BR reds. Wonderful footage - some of the best I have seen, thank you so much for sharing. Sir Nigel looking better than ever! I have stood in the footplate of Mallard but must have been amazing on SNG while fired up.
Really glad you liked the footage! I think you're right about the BR Blue livery, it does seem to go with everything. Standing on the footplate was definitely a special experience and not one I'll forget anytime soon. My purchase of the Dublo model from Hornby now looks a little more justified 😅 Thanks for watching 🤩
As much as Ì do like A4's, I love that you showed Repton, she spent time near me when I was a kid, at Steamtown, in Bellows Falls Vermont. Before she started home to you in England. I do have to say though I never thought I would see an A4 as a banking engine! Oh, and the reak car, right behind Sir Nigel Gresley was a Thompson built "teak".
Glad you enjoyed seeing Repton - there's lots more footage of her in a previous video I did if you're interested: th-cam.com/video/-VqKgXIzKfg/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching 😃
Went to the NYMR for the first time in years last year just to see Sir Nigel in action. It's always spectacular to see an A4, and last year was no exception. It was also nice to see Repton and some teak coaches. Repton's been out of action every time I've been all year, and they never have the teaks running even though I'm sure they did at one point.
It was definitely a fantastic experience. I feel very lucky I got to see so much during my trip and the NYMR is one of those railways where there's always someone going on - especially around Grosmont. Thanks for watching 😃
Wonderful vid, That Model Railway Guy. SNG with a rake of teaks can very tough to top. Schools class, too, is a lovely sight. So many great moments in this video, especially after your model review a few days ago. Many thanks.
I do love the Schools Class, I remember seeing Repton as a teenager on my very first visit to the NYMR. Yeah was nice to show off the model and then the real loco so close together - not often I get a chance to do that! Thanks for watching 😃
Thanks! The heritage railway stuff definitely doesn't seem to interest as many people on this channel but it's good to know some people still enjoy it. Thanks for watching 😃
The A4s are like the Ferraris of the steam engine world. That BR express blue is a stunning livery. I've still yet to see an A4 in person. Hopefully, it'll be someday soon 🤞.
I bought the model as a result of this trip so I'd need a time machine 😅 Plus I'm never really a big fan of getting locos out in public to take photos of them side by side with the real thing. For a while we had people doing that at Spa Valley when 828 first arrived and it always made me very nervous. Thanks for watching 👍
Absolutely love A4s. Brilliant watch. Thankyou for those
They're such impressive machines aren't they! Thanks for watching 😃
What a fantastic video of Sir Nigel Gresley on the NYMR 👍
Really glad you enjoyed it, I definitely had fun putting this video together and it was great fun syncing up all the shots. Thanks for watching 😃
Sir Nigel Gresley is easily one of my favourite locos, A4’s look so good in BR Blue!
Me too! It's a stunning livery. Thanks for watching 😃

My eyes lit up when they invited me on board... I think they had quite a hard time getting me to leave! 😅 Thanks for watching 👍

Awesome, sounds like a great experience! It's definitely a fantastic loco and we're very lucky to still have a working A4! Thanks for watching 😃
I love Severn valley railway it’s a great place been there several times

@ThatModelRailwayGuy will be great to run the Dublo version with memories of the full-size SNG

Thank you for sharing this great footage
My pleasure, it was great to be able to film such an awesome machine! Thanks for watching 😃

I've still yet to see an A4 in person. Hopefully, it'll be someday soon 🤞.
You know funnily enough the design of the A4 was actually inspired by Bugatti! Thanks for watching 😃
Is there currently any better looking steam locos out there than SNG & Blue Peter in their Express Blue liveries.
Nicely captured and narrated, sir.
I know what you mean, Blue Peter looks incredible! Thanks for watching 😃
Nice video mate, it would have been cool if you could bring the model to the real thing but as you mentioned, this was filmed a while back.
I bought the model as a result of this trip so I'd need a time machine 😅 Plus I'm never really a big fan of getting locos out in public to take photos of them side by side with the real thing. @@ThatModelRailwayGuy Fair enough, we can't have expensive models being broken can we!
I saw sir Nigel Gresley not to long ago passing through Stafford or somewhere can’t remember
Amazing! It's a great steam locomotive, definitely a good one to see out on the mainline! Thanks for watching 😃
When was this?
Last year - which shows how far behind on editing I am! Thanks for watching 😃
Wonderful! Modelling an imaginary, preservation railway, would be a great "excuse" to mix & match both eras & regions.. not that any is needed.
Which is one of the reasons my own 00 gauge layout is set on a heritage railway. Thanks for watching 😃
