Regardless what professionals in their respective fields say, especially in the area of human interspecies relationships and human animal bonding, the experience is of the greatest magnitude. It is a much better pathway into the soul that most things we know. The interaction is incredibly satisfying, and as you know yourself, non domesticated animals are true judges of character. The bond becomes very strong in a certain way. Because there are few others experiencing this bond, and other animals of the same kind don't often venture near, due to the wild nature. Often there are unexpected boundary issues, because wild animals don't have the inbred understanding of thousands of years of human /animal species interaction built in. I'm very happy for peanut, that you've taken on this responsibility.
Had a baby whose mom was run over once in Houston. Pepe was adorable but destructive inside. When he grew up I set him free in a friend's squirrel loaded yard on a beautiful street. He had a gf in one minute and he never looked back.
Love that the guy refused they put him down, and took him home to restore his health.. love that after peanut was attacked he actually decided to keep him home, he is such a kindhearted beautiful human ♥️
I had a baby squirrel that Mom had died and I rescued the baby, he made a great pet. My squirrel did eventually run off after he found a mate but even then, he occasionally visited. Never did he bite me or hurt me, he was a wonderful pet. Love the video, so glad you saved him and gave him a wonderful home, Hello Peanut, keep taking good care of Dad!!

I've always found it funny that we actually think that "wild" animals actually want to live in the wild. I feel like a great deal of animals can be domesticated just based on the simple fact that I believe most animals are smarter than we give them credit for. Animals know to keep going to a certain place if it provides food, they know to stay in places where they feel safe. Animals definitely know a good thing when they see it lol

A big brawny guy with a tiny smart and delicate squirrel. This is Love. Peanut has chosen you the very first day you both met! Kudos! Both are so so sweet!
I raised three at one time in my household and it was a challenge. They would live outside but pounce me once I would return from work third shift. I’d have three squirrels climbing on me before I could walk into the house. They tore my screens up on my windows when they would peak inside to find me if I was inside. It was good and bad but later years an occasional squirrel would approach me for a handout. The neighborhood I lived in had big mature black walnut trees in most every yard and endless squirrels. Good memories
I had a walnut tree in my yard too.. I never got a single walnut. Greedy squirrels beat me to them every year. The weirdest part was that I never saw them in the act of taking them.
He's adorable... I have a pet Gray Squirrel named Geoff. He was blown out of his nest as a little guy and he came crawling out of a pile of leaves one morning and crawled right up my sons leg and into his armpit for warmth... We nursed him with a bottle until he was old enough for Nuts, Greens and Squirrel Blocks...He has a partially paralyzed left front paw so just like your Peanut, he is inseparable to us now and lives in our house in harmony with our 2 cats and 2 dogs...They are such incredible pets and tame up so easily..
Peanut is also the name of the squirrel in our yard. We have been feeding her since she was a babe. She is almost 5 now. Squirrels are sweet. Best wishes to you and your Peanut!

Ya about vets, I've had to use them and found that most aren't worth the paper they got their degree on!!! I love your friend over the years I've had skunks chickens birds rabbits, I've found that they have been better friends than most people I've known.
I have always had a friend since I was 2-3 years old and the sad part is that they have such short life spans, but with better Foods for them they are with us longer, and I hope in the future that there is better health care for them. I watch Dr. Jeff on tv and wish that there was a 1000 Dr. like him . But I've found that it's good to know as much as possible about your friend so that you can make the Best decisions for them !!!! Funny thing is that now I have 5 dogs I've rescued and they love going flying with me when I say LETS GO FOR A RIDE they go crazy jumping for the door ,, only problem with that is I'm 70+ and some of my friends will out live me so love found a couple places that will take a couple and so I'm trying to be a responsible friend ! Ok time to go remember to be kind even to those that won't have it!!!

Exact same thing happened to me - baby squirrel fell out of it's nest and came to me for help. Nursed it back to full health and was one of the best pets I have ever had. He was released back into the wild at a squirrel rescue.
I've become a huge squirrel fan over the last year or so and watch quite a lot of skwerl videos on YT. Squirrel Peanut is a new one to me and just adorable. I'm so glad you found him and took him in. I've been amazed at how affectionate squirrels can be to their human friends, when they really trust someone the bond seems to be very strong. Another squirrel YT "dad" - real blue collar guy - said to me of his squirrel "She really brings out the best in my nature. I 'm a nicer person for knowing her". Awww!

Exact same thing happened to me - baby squirrel fell out of it's nest and came to me for help. Nursed it back to full health and was one of the best pets I have ever had. He was released back into the wild at a squirrel rescue.
I've become a huge squirrel fan over the last year or so and watch quite a lot of skwerl videos on YT. Squirrel Peanut is a new one to me and just adorable. I'm so glad you found him and took him in. I've been amazed at how affectionate squirrels can be to their human friends, when they really trust someone the bond seems to be very strong. Another squirrel YT "dad" - real blue collar guy - said to me of his squirrel "She really brings out the best in my nature. I 'm a nicer person for knowing her". Awww!
