For your drawers, I think you could add some battens to the sides of the bed frame. This allows the drawers and slides to miss the face frame/doors. But also it creates the ability to add similar for your gas lifts. It will spread the load and stress on the ply. It does mean your drawers will be a little smaller. Having a middle strip between the doors could allow you a 3rd gas lift, but again at the expense of drawer space.

Nice idea, if only I'd started the channel when I was building the kitchen and bed whilst waiting for EVee....
      Thanks

I would think some 2x1 strips of timber glued and screwed would work for you. And as you said some washers when fixing the metal work. If thats no good for you go with the coach bolts but counter sink the heads and then you could veneer the end panel on show as another option. If I think of anything else I'll pop it in comments for you if you like.
    Take care
    Conor

Hadn't thought of doubling up the wood, I'll take a look today. 👍

Pad it out with scrap ply to make the screws work

Good suggestion on the doubling up, cheers 👍
A slim corridor means you can't get to the back of big drawers, so I'm adding the ottoman hinges so that the full storage is actually accessible and not 'pita' to use. 🙂
